Sometimes liberals say the funniest things!
Planned Parenthood CEO Cecile Richards spoke at Princeton University this week. The topic of her talk? ”Keeping Politics out of Women’s Health.“
No, that’s not a misprint.
“The single biggest struggle is dealing with the politics of it all,” Richards said. “It’s the barrier that politics are putting ahead on the wellbeing on young people in this country and of women. Every time we take two steps forward, we take another step backwards. Partisan politics rather than public health interests are driving healthcare policy in America.”
Saying that Planned Parenthood abjures politics is like saying Al Sharpton is a simple country preacher or that Chuck Schumer isn’t in love with the sound of his own voice.
Just an asshole.
(Mediaite) — On the heels of Countdown host Keith Olbermann’s firing from Current TV, the network and sources close to it have been quick to buttress their case for the dismissal with details of the temperamental star’s antics. One such source tells Mediaite, among other things, that Olbermann went through 8 different car services (he doesn’t drive), and complained to the network that some of the drivers “smelled,” and “talked to him”. . . .
Earlier, Howard Kurtz tweeted that he was “Hearing allegation that Olbermann switched car co’s and vendors because Current didn’t pay the bills,” which Olbermann retweeted, but our source says that is not true, that Kurtz has been contacted about the item, and that no one else at Current has had this issue.
The network fired Olbermann for what it says is breach of contract, citing unauthorized absences from work, failure to promote the network, and disparagement of the company and its executives. . . .
In addition to hissy fits about the car service and the set, the network says Olbermann refused to promote the network. According to our source, that included not allowing Current to promote the show when he was absent (almost half the time in January and February), the guest host or the program, including barring staff from sending out Twitter updates, and not allowing the guest host to promote the program.

Why I think welfare and food stamps should be withheld from those who abuse the system. Or will not work when they can.
Flaunting food stamps almost seems to be a trend. First, Mr. EBT released his now-infamous rap. Shortly thereafter, girls followed suit with their own version. Now, a night club in Montgomery, Ala., is hosting its very own “Food Stamp Friday” party. On April 6, the Rose Supper Club in North Montgomery will offer a discounted cover charge — and free shots — to any patron who flashes a food stamp card at the door. Not surprisingly, some Montgomery residents aren’t happy about the way the party seems to glamorize a life on government assistance. The Daily Caller’s Alex Pappas reports:
“I just don’t understand how they are promoting this without anyone saying anything about it,” Stephanie Pope, a Montgomery resident who has seen the fliers in gas stations, told TheDC. …
[Rose employee Richard] Thomas said he knows of at least three phone calls placed to the venue complaining about the party’s theme. He said a young party promoter chose the name.
“I don’t know what these young people are doing,” he said.
Taxpayers are right to be concerned about whether their dollars go to a food stamp program that actually helps those in need or to a program that enables a dependent lifestyle. Food stamp abuse is not uncommon and, in some places, a food stamp card will purchase luxury items like a Starbucks frappuccino.
So much for that “civil” tone he called for.
PORTLAND, Maine (AP) – President Barack Obama accused Republicans of clinging to economic policies that preceded the Great Depression and the more recent economic downturn, saying his rivals are showing signs of “madness.”
Raising campaign cash in Maine on Friday, March 30, Obama said Republicans want to return to economic policies that would let Wall Street play by its own set of rules and allow insurance companies to roll back health coverage.
“We won’t win the race for new jobs and new businesses and middle-class security if we cling to this same old, worn-out, tired ‘You’re on your own’ economics that the other side is peddling,” Obama said.
“It was tried in the decades before the Great Depression. It didn’t work then. It was tried in the last decade. It didn’t work,” he said. “You know, the idea you would keep on doing the same thing over and over again, even though it’s been proven not to work. That’s a sign of madness.”
First, let me congratulate Arianna Huffington on selling The Huffington Post to AOL for a reported $315 million. Isn’t America a great place?
I posted previously about Ariann Huffington’s business model, Hey HuffPo Bloggers – Was It Fun Working For Free To Make Arianna Richer?:Arianna came up with a great business model. Create a place where liberals could tell each other how smart they were, where they could write blog posts without being paid, and where they could create a community of commenters who routinely attacked the evil Republicans…
and then sell out for mucho dinero….
Who knew that the website devoted to a living wage and moral imperatives actually manged to get liberal bloggers to work for free to make money for the boss-lady and her investment banking investors.
There’s a sucker born every minute….
A class action was brought on behalf of the bloggers, but it has been thrown out by a federal judge in New York, as reported by AP via The Huffington Post (full opinion embedded below):
The Huffington Post doesn’t have to pay bloggers for providing content for its website in part because they knew from the start they wouldn’t be paid and could have taken their work elsewhere, a federal judge ruled Friday.
U.S. District Judge John Koeltl dismissed a lawsuit that bloggers filed last year. The lawsuit against the Huffington Post and its parent company, AOL Inc., argued they were unjustly denied compensation for their work.
The bloggers were seeking class-action status. The lawsuit was prompted by AOL’s $315 million purchase of the Huffington Post last year. The bloggers claimed that the website unjustly profited from their work, promising only exposure. They were seeking at least $105 million in damages.
AOL had argued that the bloggers gained exposure and a place to attract a big audience in exchange for the content.
(maybe I should get nothing but guest posters who will never get paid, and at some point, sell this blog for ultra millions? might be a plan to pursue! lol)
. . . If only someone had warned NBC News that they were giving a prime-time platform to a vitriolic, race-hustling charlatan. Oh wait — we did. Even some journalists on the left did. Recently uncovered video from over twenty years ago has Al Sharpton, in his own words, bragging about his ability to manipulate the media to draw attention to his race-hustling agenda. And he’s playing out his blueprint to a T in Florida today.
In the video seen below, Sharpton brags about his ability to manipulate the media through his grandstanding, demonstrations and marches. He pats himself on the back over being able to convert a “one day story” into an international sensation by giving the media what they want: drama, contention, provocative images and charges of racism.
Weekly Address: A president who has never worked a day in his life lectures Americans about doing “their fair share”??? Hahahahaha
Except of course, his green buddies, his welfare army, his rich bitches, and anyone involved in his fat ass wife’s vacations.
We know this is not the truth. But obama and his buddies believe this as they love to change American history to their liking.
President Obama attacked Republicans for their desire to cut the government spending that “made this country great,” while also faulting them for failing to “balance the budget.”
Obama said that Republicans have “one message and that is, we’re going to make sure that we cut people’s taxes even more — so that by every objective measure our deficit is worse and we will slash government investments that have made this country great,” he argued, “not because it’s going to balance the budget, but because it’s driven by our ideological vision about how government should be. That’s their agenda, pure and simple.”
The president should avoid attacking budgets for failing to balance. Senate Democrats have refused to propose a budget of any kind in over 1,000 days.
If you think the islamists are out to kill you? They are!

All thanks to all those fine democrats who put us into this position. May you not ever draw a penny of your pension!
And progressives still can’t figure out why global companies won’t repatriate their cash to the United States. Cause they’re smart like that.
This April Fool’s Day, the joke is on all of us. That’s because as of April 1, the U.S. now has the highest corporate tax rate in the developed world.
Aint saying a word on this….
Senate Republican staffers continue to look though the 2010 health care reform law to see what’s in it, and their latest discovery is a massive $17 trillion funding gap.
“The more we learn about the bill, the more we learn it is even more unaffordable than was suspected,” said Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions, the Republicans’ budget chief in the Senate.
“The bill has to be removed from the books because we don’t have the money,” he said.
The hidden shortfall between new spending and new taxes was revealed just after Supreme Court justices grilled the law’s supporters about its compliance with the Constitution’s limits on government activity. If the court doesn’t strike down the law, it will force taxpayers to find another $17 trillion to pay for the increased spending.
The $17 trillion in extra promises was revealed by an analysis of the law’s long-term requirements. The additional obligations, when combined with existing Medicare and Medicaid funding shortfalls, leave taxpayers on the hook for an extra $82 trillion in health care obligations over the next 75 years.
The federal government has an additional $17 trillion unfunded gap in other obligations, including Social Security, bringing the total shortfall to $99 trillion.
That shortfall is different from existing debt. The federal government already owes $15 trillion in debt, including $5 trillion in funds borrowed during Obama’s term in office so far.
That $99 trillion in unfunded future expenses is more more than five years of wealth generated by the United States, which now produces just over $15 trillion of value per year.
The $99 trillion funding gap is equal to almost 30 years of the the current federal budget, which was $3.36 trillion for 2011.
Currently, the Social Security system is $7 trillion in debt over the next 75 years, according to the Government Accountability Office.
Also, Medicare will eat up $38 trillion in future taxes, and Medicaid will consume another $2o trillion of the taxpayer’s wealth, according to estimates prepared by the actuarial office at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.
