Praying for homosexuals is hate

50th anniversary of the Rolling Stones’ first gig

Fifty years ago this week, a nervous band called the Rollin’ Stones played their first gig – to a bemused crowd of jazz fans. Christopher Sandford, the band’s biographer, charts a revolution

In the summer of 1962, the management of the Academy cinema on Oxford Street in London thought it wise to warn patrons that the film they were about to see, the big-screen adaptation of John Wyndham’s novel about killer plants, The Day of the Triffids, “contained graphic horror” and “might prove disturbing to those of a nervous disposition”. Today, Wyndham’s mutant shrubs look blandly innocuous. But on the night of Thursday 12 July, in a basement club called the Marquee, just a few feet below the cinema where the Triffids was screening, something much more unsettling was about to get under way.

A sober-suited crowd of about 80 men and 30 women were on hand to witness the Rolling Stones’ first gig. There was a taste among both sexes for shapeless, utility-style clothes, stout shoes and goofy square glasses. (It’s remarkable how many young men seemed to resemble Buddy Holly.) Based on the number of goatees in the photographs, many were also diehard jazz fans; those who were there report that the audience took some time to warm up to the Stones’ 50-minute blast of American rhythm and blues.

What a clueless hag!

(CNSNews.com) — House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said that by voting to repeal the Affordable Care Act, a.k.a. Obamacare, Republicans “tried to take away protections” from “the little baby born with a birth defect.”

The “Repeal of Obamacare Act” passed the House on Wednesday, July 11, by 244 to 185, a vote that included five Democrats voting for repeal: Dan Boren (D-Okla.), Larry Kissell (D-N.C.), Jim Matheson (D-Utah), Mike McIntyre (D-N.C.), and Mike Ross (D-Ark.).

At a Capitol Hill press conference on Thursday, Minority Leader Pelosi said, “As you know, yesterday, once again for the thirtieth-some, I don’t know, thirty-something time, the Republicans tried to take away protections for patients in our country: whether the little baby born with a birth defect, a child with a disability, or asthma, cancer, diabetes; there’s the senior who’s getting prescription drugs much less expensive because of the Affordable Care Act, or free wellness examinations once a year.”

Screw muslims! They should go back to where they all came from, or we should send every single muslim in the USA to North Korea!

WMNF:

Thirty Muslim groups are asking the Florida Department of Law Enforcement to sever ties with one of their counter-terrorism trainers. Hassan Shibly, director of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, said Sam Kharoba teaches law enforcement officers to unfairly stereotype Muslims.

“Kharoba claims radicals can be identified by ten to twelve physical markers such as headbands, types of facial hair or a prayer bump on the forehead from frequent contact with a prayer mat. One of our clients, they said the officer was investigating which hand he wore his watch on because according to Kharoba, this officer in Hillsborough County was trained that if a Muslim wears his watch on his right hand he must be an extremist. It’s completely nonsensical.”

According to CAIR, Kharoba is an independent contractor who has been hired by the Florida Department of Law Enforcement at least 21 times since 2005. He wrote a book called “A Law Enforcement Guide to Understanding Islamist Terrorism” and uses it in his teachings. In the book, Shibly and other Muslim-rights advocates noted that Kharoba consistently described Islam as a faith based on violence and lies. After receiving hundreds of complaints from the Muslim community about police harassment from Hillsborough County deputies, Shibly and others stepped in. Many of those complaints involved officers who were trained by Kharaba.

Falling Out of Love with Obama Explained in One Picture

From Brother Bob at Flopping Aces:

****snip****

If the pic isn’t showing up clearly, the sign the woman has says “I have a dream”, and shows Bush and Cheney behind bars. Sadly, this also sums up the mentality of the left for eight years, and gives insight as to why so many are so unhappy with our president. So many lefties knew that they hated Bush and all of his policies, but never offered any solutions. Closing Guantanamo Bay sounded great to lefties, but what did you think was going to happen to all of the suspected terrorists held there? And what was our policy going to be moving forward? While we may not like some of the things that our leaders have to do to protect us, it doesn’t take away their necessity. Lefties were so blinded by their hatred that clear thought and realistic solutions never entered their minds. They were too busy celebrating this new hopey changey era of good feelings to ruin the celebration with pesky things like questions.

And to be honest, I don’t begrudge the liberals their celebration. The left didn’t have a lot to be happy about over the previous eight years. Unless you count minor things like a growing economy, low unemployment, and no major terrorist attacks after 9/11, of course. And they haven’t had a lot to celebrate since that time, either. No need to go back and harp on the many failures of this administration and Congress since then. No, wait, that actually is the point. America was so willing to allow itself to be charmed by Candidate Obama that they never bothered to notice we were about to elect a perfect embodiment of style without substance. How could this have happened?

Note: I try to avoid profanity in my writing with the occasional self-censoring asterisks, as I’ve come to realize that swearing tends to bring attention to the profanity rather than the point being made. Over the years I’ve mostly purged my North Jersey potty mouth, although a few beers and an hour or two of watching my beloved Philadelphia Eagles continue to produce some very colorful strings of profanity from me. That said, the next paragraph contains some foul language, so if it offends skip ahead of the italics to the following paragraph.

It’s never a good idea to stick your head up somebody’s ass. Eventually you face the reality that nobody’s shit tastes like ice cream. And when you wake up and pull your head out you come to realize that you’ve only swallowed a load of shit. And the farther up you stuck your head up that ass and the longer you leave it in, the more shit you end up swallowing.

So how could this have happened? If you voted for Obama you have nobody to blame but yourself. I’ve written previously about the right’s share of the blame in our country’s current leadership, but we at least managed low expectations. Living in DC, I remember the feeling around town. Among conservatives there was a very guarded hope that electing a man with little experience and radicals in his past might somehow work. But among the left? There was a certain electricity in the air. People seemed happier, milling about, some proudly wearing their creepy baubles to proclaim their cult membership (Obama buttons, t-shirts, hats, handbags, etc). Then the messiah they had elected actually had to do something he had never been asked to do before – do his job; lead and take responsibility. And the results have been predictable. Again, how did so many fall for this act?

Looking back on my adult life and thinking back on the times when I was unhappiest there were some times where the cause was completely beyond my control. And there are other times where my situation was mainly a product of bad decisions that I made. In some cases it was the immediate consequence of my decision, and other times it was a case of not thinking through my choices or looking at where my decisions would lead me. It’s easy to say looking back that I would have done differently through the benefit of 20/20 hindsight. I’m sure that I would have made many of the same bad decisions, but had I thought more about where they would lead me or paid closer attention to various signs I probably would have gotten out of those situations a lot sooner, or been less surprised at their eventual outcomes.

Disaffection for all of you leftist with Obama is no different. While you were laughing at how the press went dumpster diving into Joe The Plumber’s personal life, you completely ignored that then Senator Obama’s “Spread the wealth” comment should have been a clear warning that you were supporting someone who is economically illiterate. You had a great time poking fun at how the press proved to you that Sarah Palin was too stupid and too inexperienced to be Vice President, and you demonstrated how you value those qualities by voting for a VP whose mouth is an endless stream of stupidity and a President who had never had any kind of leadership role (much less any real job) in is life. You loved Obama’s claims that all laws would be negotiated on C-Span and then posted online for at least five days for the public to view, when nothing in his past suggested any history of doing that. You chose to believe that Obama would usher in a new kind of bipartisan culture of bringing people together, when his personal history of winning elections consisted of getting opponents thrown off of the ballot or having sealed divorce records of his opponent unsealed just prior to his election dates, that is when Obama wasn’t outright accepting illegal campaign contributions from foreigners suggested he was nothing but a typical Chicago politician. And of course, you all cackled with hateful delight as the press was busy raping Sarah Palin’s family in print while you couldn’t even be bothered to read a biography that would have shown you you were supporting someone whose background evolved from drug using punk to a man whose political career was spent influenced by Marxists and anti-Americans. On that same note, you found the details of a 14 year old girl’s sex life more important than the fact that this self proclaimed genius you fell in love with had no school transcripts, publications, or any student, professors, or peers who could vouch for this brilliance you mindlessly accepted. For that matter, you chose to not ask how someone who in his own biography admitted to spending his last two years of high school in a drug induced haze somehow got accepted to Occidental college. You also ignored an autobiography riddled with incorrect facts, and still accept as objective the sycophantic press that refused to vet this candidate’s past.

Are you among the many who have fallen out of love with Obama? Are you somehow surprised that the world didn’t magically transform into the hopey changey paradise you were promised? I have something painful to tell you. It’s not Sarah Palin’s fault. It’s not John Boehner’s fault. It’s not Citigroup’s fault. It’s not the Supreme Court’s fault. It’s not the Tea Party’s fault. It’s not the one percent’s fault. And for the love of God, please get it through your head that your unhappiness is not George Bush’s fault. You have nobody to blame but yourself. Next time do your homework. Asking the tough questions up front means a lot less heartache down the road. You might not like the answers, but unfortunately for you reality has a very anti-left wing bias.

I know that the leftists out there can’t like any of what I just said, but to quote one of the greatest orators in the history of humanity, “They should be thanking me.”

This coming from an idiot who belongs to an elitist party!

(CNN) — Mitt Romney’s opposition to Buffett Rule may be “because he’s exploiting all of these loopholes” in the tax code, Rep. Henry Waxman charged in a Democratic National Committee conference call on Thursday afternoon.

Waxman launched into Romney for a lack of transparency as Democrats have put the Republican presidential nominee under another wave of pressure to release tax and financial documents.

“If he’s not paying his fair share and he doesn’t want other gazillionaires — many of whom are going to be together with him and Vice President Cheney in Wyoming — [they] will continue to avoid their fair share,” Waxman said.

Waxman sought to tie what Democrats saw as secrecy employed by former Vice President Dick Cheney to Romney. Cheney hosts a high-dollar fundraiser for Romney on Thursday at his Jackson, Wyoming home.

“Let’s not go back to a time – to the years when people acted like they’re entitled to keep everything secret, that they’re entitled to run the government and the American people are not to be permitted to know what’s going on because they know better than the rest of us,” Waxman fired.

“This is an elitism. It’s a sense that they’re better than anybody else — they’re entitled to all of the money they have and the rest of us should just grin and bear it because they’re the ones in charge,” he continued.

Homicides are killing Chicago tourism

Chicago Tribune

Tourism official: City must curtail crime wave

Chicago’s extensive efforts to reinvigorate its convention and tourism industries could be damaged unless the city quickly defuses the violent crime wave that has exploded in its neighborhoods and nicked the downtown, the city’s top convention and tourism official said Wednesday.

“We hope this sunsets quickly because all the good work we’re doing regionally, nationally and internationally, if this is not contained in a reasonable period of time, it will have an impact,” Don Welsh, president and chief executive of Choose Chicago, said in a morning meeting withthe Chicago Tribune’seditorial board.

News reports of several unprovoked attacks by youths in the Michigan Avenue corridor and of the surge in homicides in some impoverished Chicago neighborhoods are triggering concerned calls to Choose Chicago, the newly restructured not-for-profit agency that combines the city’s convention bureau and its office of tourism and culture. The issue has gained national attention in The New York Times and other media.

“There are inquiries that are coming in from meeting planners that are saying, ‘Hey, I’m reading about what’s taken place in your city. Is your city safe?’” Welsh said. His organization received five to six such calls in the last few weeks, at this point seeking information, not cancellations, he said at the meeting.

NEW ORLEANS — Two Louisiana congressmen are calling on the Justice Department to respond to a complaint that one of its attorneys tried to bar a newspaper reporter from quoting or recording the lawyer’s comments at a public hearing in New Iberia.

The Daily Iberian contends Justice Department attorney Rachel Hranitzky became “belligerent and threatening” after the reporter, Matthew Beaton, questioned why he couldn’t quote her comments during a June 12 public hearing about the New Iberia Fire Department’s hiring and promotion practices.

The newspaper reported that Hranitzky told Beaton he would be asked to leave the City Hall hearing if he didn’t comply with her directive.

“Then (the Justice Department) can call your editors and publisher at the paper, and trust you don’t want to get on the Department of Justice’s bad side,” the paper quoted Hranitzky as saying.

Sen. David Vitter and Rep. Jeff Landry, both Republicans, have asked the Justice Department to respond to a June 15 letter from Managing Editor Jeff Zeringue complaining about the reporter’s treatment.

Zeringue said Tuesday that he was still waiting for a response, but department spokeswoman Nanda Chitre says Hranitzky “never attempted to alter or stop a news story.”

NASHVILLE (Reuters) – Hank Williams, Jr. is a country singer, record executive and political pundit, and he wears all those hats on his new CD, “Old School, New Rules”. He picks up on politics where he left off last year with some more fighting words for President Barack Obama.

Williams calls himself “an executive hillbilly,” but he’s more than that. The second son in a line of country stars – legend Hank Williams is his dad and country/punk/metal singer Hank III his son – Williams is known for such standards as “Family Tradition” and “A Country Boy Can Survive.” He runs his own label and scouts for up-and-coming talent.

He speaks his mind, too, and has become a voice for some Americans who are discontent with Obama. Last year, cable TV network ESPN pulled his song from its “Monday Night Football” telecast after he publicly compared Obama to Adolf Hitler.

But the singer turned the backlash to his advantage by gaining some new fans for his outspokenness, and he continues to voice his political with the new CD released this week.

The opening track, “Take Back Our Country,” includes lyrics like “…I’ll go find a network wants to treat me right, y’all can take the change and stick it out of sight” and “Hey Barack pack your bags, head to Chicago, take your teleprompter with you so you’ll know where to go…”

Love him or not, Williams and his music always bears his unique take on life, whether he’s mixing country with southern rock or throwing in the blues. He writes most of his songs, and those on “Old School, New Rules” are no exception.

“I got pretty motivated on this,” Williams told Reuters. “The people, the fans, have inspired me and I guess that’s why I wrote 10 and a half songs for the album. We have sold several hundred thousand dollars-worth of t-shirts that say ‘Take Back Our Country.’ It’s snowballing.”

“Who knew Mickey Mouse and ESPN would put me in the forefront? I’m the mouthpiece for grandmothers who lost everything,” he said, referring to the cable TV network’s parent, The Walt Disney Co.

“I had an 11-year-old write me, ‘My parents said you were a good role model for me, could you send me a picture?’ We’re also hearing from military personnel, saying, ‘We’re behind you 100 percent.’ It’s all good; it’s really special,” he said.

Other politically-charged songs on the album include, “We Don’t Apologize for America” and “Who’s Taking Care of Number One?” but there are many other songs that avoid the subject.

And too many in our government want to freaking aid these terrorists?

LWJ:

A jihadist who was one of hundreds to have escaped from Egyptian prisons during the uprising in Egypt in early 2011 was killed during recent fighting in Syria. The Egyptian fought the Qaddafi regime in Libya before traveling to Syria to battle President Bashir al Assad’s forces.

Ahmed Ref’at, an Egyptian from Kafr al Sheikh who was better known as Abu Al Bara’a, was killed on July 7 while battling Syrian security forces in an undisclosed location, according to a statement from a fellow jihadist that was released on terrorist-linked web forums. The statement was translated by the SITE Intelligence Group.

Al Bara’a “left the prisons of Mubarak after the revolution and headed to do jihad in Libya with the revolutionaries, and he did jihad and returned after the death of Gaddafi . . . then he went and did jihad in Syria with the mujahideen against the Alawite Rafidah [Shi'ites],” the fellow jihadist reported, according to the SITE translation.

A video clip of al Bara’a fighting “in the glorious days of jihad in Libya” was also released on YouTube.

In a final statement attributed to Al Bara’a, he implored “all of the brothers . . . to join the convoy and know that there is nothing that is equal to jihad.”

New slogan for Planned Parenthood: Official Abortionist of the Democrat Party.

LifeNews:

A paid Planned Parenthood strategist will head the Democratic National Committee’s platform committee when party leaders gather later this summer to nominate pro-abortion President Barack Obama for another four-year term.

Political consultant Andy Grossman was named today as the National Platform Director for the Democratic National Convention’s platform panel, according to a Politico report. Grossman is head of Grossman Solutions, a political consulting firm that the nation’s biggest abortion business has hired as a strategist for its political operations.

Grossman also headed the Common Purpose Project Health Care Working Group, which Politico indicates played a big role in getting the Obamacare law approved that pro-life groups universally opposed because of its abortion-funding and rationing components.

“Andrew Grossman currently serves as the President of the Health Information Campaign, an organization founded in 2010 to educate the public about the Affordable Care Act. Other clients of Grossman Solutions have included the National Partnership for Women and Families, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, Ballot Initiative Strategy Center, Wal-Mart Watch, Bill Thompson for Mayor of New York City, the United Brotherhood of Carpenters, SEIU, America Votes and Unity ’09,” his company’s website indicates.

From John Ransom at Townhall:

Being president was always easy for Barack Obama.

But delivering on the big words has been considerably tougher.

In part, Obama’s troubles stem from the rigidity of the left’s broken ideas. They admit of no compromise. Consequently, Obama has subsumed his whole personality into an unworkable progressive ideology that was dead outside of academia- and news rooms- until he resurrected it.

It’s the idea that a benign government of technocrats and academics can engineer near perfect justice at the trivial cost in liberty and money to most of us.

Everyone gets a mortgage, even though that’s an idea that already killed our economy once; renewable energy creates jobs, even though the federal investment in energy has shown no return in 30 years; everyone gets unlimited healthcare, even though the variety of healthcare already limited by the government is forcing us to bankruptcy; everyone gets a job, even though producing that result means forcing some out of the workforce. And to deliver on these promises all we have to do is take more money from people who have already given more money than rest of us combined.

What could be fairer?

His life and presidency can only be understood by recognizing this Obama idée fixe goes beyond merely his ideology and merges into that of his personality. Because only when one realizes that he personally identifies with his ideology in the same way that he identifies himself as a father or husband, can one finally understand how tightly he clings to it.

In his State of the Union address Obama actually urged us to model a failed program of the Great Depression, the Hoover Dam, as an example America can use once again. There are many good arguments to support the construction of the Hoover Dam- it’s a neat engineering feat and helped open the West- but it’s didn’t do a thing to solve the issues of the Great Depression it was proposed to solve.

Today, it wouldn’t even make it past OSHA, the EPA, the State Department or the Canadian Convention and Visitors Bureau’s approval processes. Thus it’s a typical liberal big-government proposal that resembles our president- high on grandiosity and iconography but poor on real results.

And in order to reconcile their grandiosity and iconography with inconvenient economic facts, liberals, like Obama, depend upon the unreliable magic trick of redefining words to mean the opposite of what any plain speaking person in the USA would understand them to mean.

With words as their weapons, the “good, kind-hearted, fat, benevolent people,” as Twain describes Obama’s progressive friends, can assure honest poverty for the rest of us- and we can feel satisfied that very few people are richer than the rest of us. And as long as we call that condition “liberty,” all is right with the world.

That’s why good, kind-hearted, fat Warren Buffett agrees to promote a tax he’ll never pay to ensure he and his fellows maintain an ascendancy that can’t be compromised by the majority. Or good, kind-hearted, fat George Kaiser goes knocking on the door of the White House for a subsidized loan for his failing private venture. The first rule of capital is to preserve it in the same way that politicians first preserve power.

And thus, in Obama’s world, everyone is supposed to be happy and grateful.

But we are not happy and grateful and that reality confronts Obama’s ideology.

It was so much easier for Obama to be president when all he had to do was come up with sunshine words and rosy promises, as opposed to, say, executing unworkable legislation, controlling a suspicious congress, creating policy that gives more to his rich donors in order to secure “liberty” for most of us

That’s why Obama talks about immigration reform, but ignores immigration law -or not- depending on how the spirits move him. That’s why he plays the part of constitutional law professor, while ignoring the duty to defend the constitution. That’s why he tells banks to lend money to poor people, but punishes banks through extra-legal means- because they loaned money to poor people.

He can’t be both a president and an ideologue both.

But obama says it is not enough!

(CNSNews.com) — The national debt has now increased by more than $64,000 per federal taxpayer since Barack Obama was inaugurated president.

At the close of business on Jan. 20, 2009, according to the U.S. Treasury, the total debt of the federal government was $10,626,877,048,913.08. By the close of business on July 10, 2012, that debt had climbed to $15,885,854,755,351.47 — an increase of $5,258,977,706,438.39.

In “Statistics of Income — 2009 Individual Income Tax Returns,” which was published this year and is the Internal Revenue Service’s most recent statistical report on individual income tax data, the IRS reported that there were 81,890,189 tax returns filed in 2009 that reported taxable income.

If each of these 81,890,189 federal taxpayers were given responsibility for paying off an equal share of the new federal debt added since Obama was inaugurated, they would each need to pay about $64,219.88.

Nope, there are losers in this plan by obama. And that are the taxpayers!

Weekly Standard:

The federal government has been making the case that, with food stamps, “everyone wins,” according to literature meant to promote the federal social welfare program. The argument is that accepting food stamp benefits helps to promote economic growth for the communities hosting those recipients.

“Each $5 dollars in new SNAP benefits generates almost twice that amount in economic activity for the community,” states the federal government pamphlet. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the official name of the food stamps program.

“Everyone wins when eligible people take advantage of benefits to which they are entitled,” states the pamphlet, which is written and distributed by the United States Department of Agriculture, the federal entity responsible for the program.

This is not a religion (church) that follows Jesus Christ and our bible!

NY Times:

The Episcopal Church on Tuesday approved an official liturgy for blessing same-sex unions, enabling priests who have the approval of their bishops to bestow the church’s blessing on gay couples whether they live in a state where same-sex marriage is legal or not.

The adoption of an official rite, significant in a church in which liturgy is central, further solidifies the Episcopal Church’s shift to the left on sexual minorities. A day earlier, the church voted to approve a nondiscrimination policy that will allow transgendered people to be ordained to the priesthood.

The vote on gay blessings, which took place at the church’s triennial General Convention in Indianapolis, was 171 to 50. The vote was by the House of Deputies, which includes laypeople and clergy members. The church has a bicameral structure, and its House of Bishops overwhelmingly approved the new liturgy on Monday by a vote of 111 to 41, with 3 abstentions.

“This is significant because it’s saying, ‘This is around to stay — this is not a passing fad,’ ” said Mary A. Tolbert, founding director of the Center for Lesbian and Gay Studies in Religion and Ministry at Pacific School of Religion, in Berkeley, Calif. “It’s making a statement about the continued presence of gay and lesbian people among the congregations of the Episcopal Church, and that their lives need to be marked by liturgy as well.”
