Who Were The Normandy Attackers?
The successful, Allied mission to gain a foothold in Northern France signaled the liberation of Europe but came at a steep cost. Hundreds of thousands died in the days of fierce fighting across the barbed wire beaches and entrenched French countryside. The iconic images of the chaos of the invasion were mostly captured in black and white.
