Note: I do not belong to this organization. Though I get at least one mailing from them every single week, either for me or for my wife. Some include a plastic membership card, or some cheap trinket that is mine to keep. Heck, a few times I got mailings from aarp that included a penny, or a nickel, and one time a quarter (guess it is their spare change they are unloading?). But have never had the urge to join them! This is why:
There is nothing wrong with being a successful business, and the AARP should be credited for being just that. But there is something unsavory about being in the business of duping the elderly. What is poorly understood is that there are eight entities linked to the AARP label, of which five are taxable, for-profit companies. To put it crudely, the non-profit part of AARP is a front. Its primary function is to sell stuff to old people via AARP Services, Inc.– and to blackmail congress, which it does.
If any single business lobby—yes, business lobby—stands as an obstacle to entitlement reform, it is the American Association of Retired People [AARP]. There is nothing wrong with being a successful business, and the AARP should be credited for being just that. But there is something unsavory, at least, about being in the business of duping the elderly. Dissimulating—even to the elderly—is not illegal, nor should it be. A government powerful enough to prevent the AARP from duping old people is a more powerful government than any of us should want. There is no evidence that the AARP is technically breaking the law. But what they are doing is exploiting the elderly for a fast buck while lobbying—consistently—for the massive expansions of the federal government.
Let’s start with this statement from the AARP’s website:
Barry Rand is chief executive officer (CEO) of AARP, the world’s largest nonprofit, nonpartisan membership organization dedicated to social change and helping people 50 and over to improve the quality of their lives. Mr. Rand is a dynamic leader and change agent who brings to AARP a proven track record of leading both multibillion-dollar businesses and smaller, private equity-driven businesses. He has served as chairman and chief executive officer of Avis Group Holdings, CEO of Equitant Ltd., and executive vice president, Worldwide Operations, at Xerox Corporation. He serves as chairman of the Board of Trustees of Howard University.
That’s a a heavy-hitting resume for the head of “a non-profit, non-partisan nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that helps people 50 and over improve the quality of their lives,” isn’t it? It should be a clue. It is. Barry Rand is the CEO not only of a non-profit organization, but a very profitable organization that is also called the AARP.
The AARP, in principle, is a 501(c)(4) tax-exempt non-profit association. The (c)(4) designation is reserved for “Civic Leagues, Social Welfare Organizations, and Local Associations of Employees;” the key constraint upon its operation is that its net earnings must be devoted exclusively to charitable, educational, or recreational purposes. What is poorly understood—particularly by the elderly—is that there are eight entities linked to the AARP label, of which five are taxable, for-profit companies: AARP Insurance, AARP Services, Inc., AARP Global Network LLC, AARP Properties LLC, and AARP Financial, Inc. The profit-making and non-profit AARP entities are not only linked by their name—there is a great deal of overlap among boards of directors.

(note, your money if you belong to aarp or have insurance or buy stuff through aarp? funds liberals, including obama campaign!)
Mark Levin points us to a crucial Daily Beast article that outlines the contours of Barack Obama’s “fundamental transformation” of America.
In short, the Constitution’s checks and balances — which were specifically intended to prevent a would-be oligarch from amassing too much power — have been shredded by Obama. And that’s not what I say; it’s what a progressive magazine informs us with some measure of pride.
The Old Obama had pledged to usher in a golden age of bipartisan cooperation, then spent the first two and a half years of his tenure trying to meet the opposition in the middle. But the New Obama was fed up. Disillusioned. And he was done letting Congress stonewall his agenda.
…According to one participant, there was a recognition that the time had come to consider an audacious new governing strategy: what could Obama do without Congress?
Eleven months later, on June 15, 2012, the president strode into the Rose Garden to make an announcement. For the last five years, congressional Republicans had been blocking the DREAM Act: a bill designed to provide a conditional pathway to citizenship for immigrants who were brought to America illegally as children. Pressed by Latino advocates to take action, Obama had spent 2011 repeating that “we are doing everything we can administratively” because “this notion that somehow I can just change the laws unilaterally is not true.” But now the president was doing something that he’d previously deemed impossible, and that Congress had repeatedly forbidden…
A portion of the city’s more than 60 miles of freight tunnels that run beneath the city, 1904, Chicago.
These subways ran as far south as Roosevelt, as far north as North Ave and west to Halsted.
They still exist, abandoned.
Nixon resigned on August 9th, 1974 days before congress was set to vote on his impeachment. His crime? He had knowledge of an event involving five men that broke into the the DNC office, and was busted attempting to cover up that break-in. That was all it took.
First the Judiciary Committee hit him with obstruction of justice – voting 27 to 1 to proceed with impeachment, on those grounds. Next was abuse of power, and finally contempt of Congress.
Not one soul was hurt.

After weeks of administration officials blaming an anti-Islamic YouTube video for the attacks on the US consulate in Benghazi, new documents obtained by multiple news outlets now prove beyond doubt that Secretary Hillary Clinton was aware of the situation within 2 short hours of the onset of weapons fire on the consulate.
Shortly after 4:00PM on September 11, 2012, emails from the consulate detailing the extreme nature of the attack were sent to some 200+ intelligence, State Department and White House officials, including the Situation Room. By 6:07PM, the email communications clearly indicated that Al Qaeda-linked Ansar al-Sharia had claimed responsibility for the attack.
Email addresses indicate that without doubt that @state.gov (State Department) and @nss.EOP.gov (Executive Office of the President) received the communications. Also included in the “send to” line are the FBI, the Director of National Intelligence and a person at the Defense Department.
New reports out this morning show that Secretary of State Clinton assembled a legal team to be prepared for any fallout with the Obama administration that would attempt to place blame on the Secretary.
In the weeks following the terrorist attack in Benghazi, Secretary Clinton and others in the administration pushed the narrative that a YouTube video prompted riots that got out of control for the cause of the attack. Clinton and President Obama stood side by side when addressing the nation condemning the video and blaming an American citizen for the deaths of the ambassador, 2 US marines and another American. The president spoke to the UN, appeared on The View and David Letterman shows and gave campaign speeches that continued to push that narrative for weeks after the attack. On September 28, 2012, Press Secretary Jay Carney finally told media that there was “no doubt that [the attack] was an act of terror.”

Live Action has released a new undercover video today showing officials with the Planned Parenthood abortion business lying about how women have been victimized by botched abortions at its centers.
Live Action Advocate investigators called Planned Parenthood abortion clinics with recent cases of medical emergencies and botched abortions in 7 different states asking if Planned Parenthood’s abortion practice was safe and if women had ever been hurt at the clinics. Not a single Planned Parenthood abortion clinic acknowledged the recent injuries of women.
When a caller asks Planned Parenthood’s Birmingham, Alabama abortion clinic if, when women get abortions at the clinic, “They’re not in danger, they don’t get, like, injured?” Planned Parenthood responds, “No ma’am, we don’t have any type of procedure where a woman would receive an injury.”
However, the Birmingham Planned Parenthood clinic botched a woman’s abortion in 2010 while it was on probation from the Alabama Department of Health.
Roberta Clark walked into the Birmingham Planned Parenthood on August 20, 2010, for what she thought would be a routine first-trimester abortion. An ultrasound exam was conducted by an unlicensed, untrained worker indicated Clark was 8 weeks, 4 days pregnant with an intrauterine pregnancy, even though she was later to be found not pregnant at all.
California-based abortion practitioner Aqua Don Emmanuel Umoren, who contracts to do abortions for Planned Parenthood in Birmingham and for another abortion clinic in Huntsville, was on duty at the time. He reportedly conducted a pelvic exam that he said concurred with the 8 week, 4 day diagnosis.
Clark was given a suction abortion, after which she continued to complain of nausea, vomiting, and pelvic pain. The pathology report that indicated no fetal parts were identified in the tissue specimen that had been submitted for inspection that same day. Clark was not informed of this nor is there a record of her receiving any follow-up care from Umoren or Planned Parenthood.
Twenty-five days later, Clark was in a Birmingham hospital E.R. undergoing emergency surgery to save her life. Doctors removed her ruptured fallopian tube containing a 13-week fetus and placenta.
Umoran stands accused of falsifying medical records and negligently failing to diagnose a patient’s tubal pregnancy.
