WASHINGTON—Following the release of a secret Department of Justice memo this week that outlines the administration’s legal justification for killing U.S. citizens, a new Pew Research Center poll has revealed that a majority of Americans are torn over whether they support the government’s right to kill them anywhere at any time without due process. “On the one hand, I get it—it’s important for the government to be able to murder me and any of my friends or family members whenever they please for reputed national security reasons. But on the other hand, it would kind of be nice to stay alive and have, maybe, a trial, actual evidence—stuff like that,” said visibly conflicted 39-year-old Nashua, NH resident Rebecca Sawyer, who, like millions of other Americans, is split over whether secret federal agents should be allowed to target and assassinate her anywhere on U.S. soil. “I wouldn’t mind if federal officials blew up other citizens and claimed it was in the name of my safety. But it’s just that when it comes to me, I guess I’d rather not be slaughtered by my own elected officials on charges that never have to be validated by any accountable authority. This is tough.” While most Americans expressed conflicted feelings regarding the memo, the poll also found that 28 percent of citizens were unequivocally in favor of being obliterated at any point, for any reason, in a massive airstrike.

I wonder how many people will believe this? Now to me that 28%? Buck Ofama voters all!

Williams: Where’s The Outrage Over Obama’s Drone Policy?
By Juan Williams
Imagine if President George W. Bush or senior members of his administration asserted that they had the power to assassinate any person, including American citizens on American soil, because they merely suspected them of being involved in a terrorist plot.
Now, imagine that they went a step further and claimed that this broad new power was not subject to any oversight by Congress or the judiciary or international law.
A lot of left-wingers would be apoplectic. And they would be right.
Sadly, a Democratic president, Barack Obama, and senior national security officials in his administration appear to be wielding just that kind of power without any oversight, according to a memorandum outlining the extent of the U.S. drone program uncovered by NBC News Investigative Reporter Michael Isikoff.
Yet, the absence of national outrage is deafening.

If President Bush was a war criminal what does that make Barack Obama?
The idea for this post came after reading this article at Capitol Commentary, please check it out.
How many times after the war on terror began did we hear the left claim that President Bush was a war criminal? All you have to do is google “Bush war criminal” and you will come up with innumerable articles calling President Bush a war criminal and calling for him to be tried for war crimes. Here is one such article:
Some 269 war crimes during the Bush administration, based primarily on autobiographical and journalistic reports in four categories—illegal decisions to go to war, the military conduct of war, mistreatment of prisoners of war, and the misoccupations of Afghanistan and Iraq.
(To be fair you can find some articles calling Barack Obama a war criminal, but where are the protesters?)
We saw many protesters rally against President Bush’s crimes yet doesn’t that quote above also apply to Barack Obama? Where are the protesters? Barack Obama also illegally went to war in Libya and Egypt while also supporting the uprising in Syria and we have troops scattered throughout Africa, yet the left is quiet.
The “mistreatment of prisoners of war” was a rallying cry which helped Barack Obama ride to the presidency in 2008: he claimed that torture lessened the standing of America in the world and made our country less safe. He talked about the innocent lives being lost during the war, yet as president he has ordered drone strikes which also kill innocent people and yet the left remains silent.
Barack Obama has gone so far as to declare he can assassinate American citizens with drone strikes without charges and without even proof these “threats” are even plotting against the United States and yet the left remains silent.
Barack Obama even ordered the assassination of an American teenager, who was eventually killed in a drone strike and yet the left remains silent.
Barack Obama was against “torturing” enemy combatants to gain information for use in the war on terror and he wanted to grant those caught on the battlefield the constitutional right of a trial by jury yet he does not think he has to afford American citizens the same right–he can simply kill them and we are supposed to believe this killing is okay but “torture” is a human rights violation? And yet the left remains silent.
Four Americans died in a terrorist attack in Benghazi because Barack Obama may have been running guns captured in Libya into Syria, and then he tried to cover it up and yet the left remains silent.
If President Bush was a war criminal, what does that make Barack Obama? And yet the left remains silent…..

At the Golden Triangle Veterans Memorial park on Hwy 87 in Port Arthur , Texas on Monday May 28th (Memorial Day) 2012. My wife and I arrived at 2pm as the band began to play and the service started at 2:30pm. When we got there the pavilion was full but we were able to squeeze into the back left hand corner under the roof in the shade. While the program was going on I was listening to a friend of mine, retired Colonel Chris Lamson, with 25 years active duty in the Marines and I looked over my right shoulder and noticed the old veteran setting on the wall. His wife had been holding the umbrella over his head and laid it down to stand up where she could see the speaker and hear what was being said. When I turned to look the second time I noticed the Marine had stepped forward, picked up the umbrella and was holding it over the older gentleman. You can tell by the shadow that only the left shoulder and arm of the Marine was in the shade. Notice his right hand behind his back standing at parade rest in full dress blues. Not once did he flinch. The temperature forecast that day was predicted to be 90 degrees or more in the shade. In Southeast Texas the humidity can also match the temperature. If you have ever worn a set of dress blues you would understand how hot they are. He stood there until the service was over. When it was over I walked up to him and said ” Thank you for such a kind act for the old veteran” He just looked at me and nodded as if to say, “it was my duty”. As I walked away with a tear in my eye and my heart swelling it made me proud to know that the old traditions are still carried on. It was 57 years ago this summer that I joined the Marines.

Safest Big City in America Shatters Democrats’ Rationale for Gun Control
The murder capital of the United States is Chicago, Illinois. Last year it tallied more than 500 murders despite a virtual ban on guns. Suffice it to say that only law-abiding citizens honor said ban.
David “Red Diaper Baby” Axelrod and other Leftists are quick to blame neighboring states for their ills, but fail to note that large cities in those states are infinitely safer than Chicago.
And if Axelrod possessed an ounce of intellectual honesty, he’d investigate the safest large city in America. That city, El Paso, has a true “neighbor problem”.
