This morning bright and early (earlier than normal, and normal seems to be 815am at the gym) we went to the gym and worked out. I got in a good workout with the many pulleys and cables and weights machine! Even sweated! And since we had agreed before going to the gym, we left from the gym and got on the interstate to head down to Missouri. Gas was $3.46 a gallon this morning! Yeah I know, below the estimate from last month! But have yet to get the van filled (still have even after the trip about 1/2 a tank left) as we may go to Des Moines Friday (wife hinted ALDI, wally world and how about lunch honey) and maybe it will be cheaper there. I will see!
So we get to our destination in Missouri, get our cigarettes and cigars. I fill up my coffee mug, wife gets a pepsi, plus a jar of black raspberry preserves (I saw that and it looked good to me and the wife said it looks like it is nothing but black raspberry) that I will enjoy sometime tomorrow with a bagel or two.
Then headed back home. I debated as to whether to ask the wife should we stop and go to Fareway. Simply because I wanted to buy more blueberry brats! Then good sense hit me and I kept my mouth shut and thus did not get my blueberry brats. See, the sense that hit me was this: wife would have said sure, I need a few items. But first honey lets stop at wal mart, then go to this shop, and then Fareway and on the way home (take the back road since it is shorter) let’s stop at the thrift store to see what they have. And bam! I would have been in Osceola for about 3 hours or more (because another stop she would have come up with is this restaurant there she likes). Just not worth it at the time for some blueberry brats! Dammit!
Got home and had a letter from the medical clinic we go to. Yep, had to call them and set up an appointment for next week for a colonoscopy. Geesh! Just when I thought my wife and the doctor had forgotten about that. So they will mail out instructions as to what to do the previous day (like I know one thing and that is stop the food and only liquids from then on), the time for me to be there, and whatever else they feel I need to allay my nerves (or colon).
So that meant a call to the dentist to change the appointment I had for next week to some other time.
And a call to our vet. Get a time to bring our dog Coco in to get her nails clipped (aint never again going to clip her nails myself) which will be tomorrow morning at 11am. Thus now I know what I will do tomorrow. Unless wife decides to come along (she does not see the sense of going to the vet with me and our dog), I can then go to Fareway after the appointment and get me some blueberry brats! And no, will not say a thing to my wife and maybe she will not think about coming.
91F today! That is the first 90 or above day for us here in our part of Iowa for 2012! Geesh. Tonight dropping down to 50 or so and tomorrow a high about about 65. Then the next day? High predicted of 50. Somewhere in there we may get some rain. Yes, I want rain for the simple fact that if no rain, wife will expect me to get the hose out and water all the plants! Yesterday, she planted all the tomato plants (7 of them). Yes, we will get more she said! Plus more silvermound to fill in some spots in the garden (thinking that since she said so, the garden will be nothing but silvermound by next year).
Have you ever bought a brand new cars only to forget where you put it? How about 300 of them? Probably not – unless you’re Miami-Dade County, which was recently reunited with 298 vehicles it bought brand new between 2006 and 2007.
The county “discovered” this fleet of no-mileage vehicles after reading about them in a Spanish-language newspaper there (see the source for more images). Most of the misplaced motorcade is made up of Toyota Prius hybrids whose warranties either expired with very few miles on the odo or will very soon.
