53,000 Dead Registered Voters in Florida, Millions Nationwide
The Florida Secretary of State has discovered 53,000 dead voters registered to vote. The Secretary of State has also flagged thousands of potential non-citizens who are also registered to vote. This discovery is indicative of a wider national problem with dead and ineligible voters on the rolls heading into the Presidential election.
In the 2012 legislative session, Florida finally passed a law requiring the use of the Social Security Death Index (SSDI) to determine if dead people are registered to vote in Florida. Secretary of State Kurt Browning and then-State Election Director Don Palmer proposed this idea in the previous legislative session, but the bill did not pass.
Florida discovered the dead voters by matching voter rolls against the SSDI.
The SSDI is the list of Americans who have died and applied for death benefits. Because an application must be submitted by the next of kin and carries criminal penalties for false statements, it is considered the most accurate list of dead voters available.
Yet most states don’t use the SSDI. Instead, they use a hodge-podge of other information, usually compiled from the state bureaus of vital statistics. But state bureau reporting is slow and incomplete.
Three counties in Florida have reported more citizens registered to vote than people alive eligible to vote – St. Johns, Okaloosa, and Santa Rosa – according to the most recent Election Assistance Commission report.
Having dead people infesting the rolls is the first step to voter impersonation.

What should we think about that? An agency spokesman who claims to have been responsible for the “born in Kenya” wheeze has publicly said that it was a mistake, a typographical error, a slip of the pen that just went “unchecked” for, um, sixteen-seventeen years. I can understand that. She meant to write “Hawaii” and wrote “Kenya” instead. Could happen to anyone. They look and sound enough alike, don’t they, that no one noticed. You meant to write “there” and you wrote “their” instead. You meant to write “cup” and you wrote “floccinaucinihilipilification” instead. No one—no one at the literary agency, not the author himself—could be expected to notice. You understand that, right?

Yesterday I had a flat tire on the interstate.
So I eased my car over to the shoulder of the road, carefully get out of the car and open the trunk. . I took out 2 cardboard men, unfolded them and stood them at the rear of my car facing oncoming traffic.

“Most of the world’s unused arable land is in Africa,” the president continued. “Fifty years ago, Africa was an exporter of food. There is no reason why Africa should not be feeding itself and exporting food again. There is no reason for that.”

Bee Gees singer Robin Gibb has passed away today aged 62.
The musician died after undergoing intestinal surgery and due to his long battle with cancer.

Jackson told the crowd in Grant Park along Chicago’s Lake Michigan to be nonviolent as they started the more than 2-mile march to McCormick Place. World leaders began the NATO summit at McCormick Place earlier Sunday.
Jackson also led the chant “We need a peace machine, not a war machine.”

But Breitbart News did, and it turns out that the earliest recorded example of Birtherism is from the president’s own literary agent, way back in 1991, in the official bio of her exciting new author: “Barack Obama, the first African-American president of TheHarvard Law Review, was born in Kenya and raised in Indonesia and Hawaii.”
So the lunatic theory that Barack Obama doesn’t meet the minimum eligibility requirements to be president of the United States was first advanced by Barack Obama’s official representative. Where did she get that wacky idea from? “This was nothing more than a fact-checking error by me,” says Obama’s literary agent Miriam Goderich, a “fact” that went so un-“checked” that it stayed up on her agency’s website in the official biography of her by-then-famous client up until 2007: “He was born in Kenya to an American anthropologist and a Kenyan finance minister.”
And then in April 2007, someone belatedly decided to “check” the 16-year-old “fact” and revised the biography, a few weeks into the now non-Kenyan’s campaign for the presidency. Fancy that!
When it comes to conspiracies, I’m an Occam’s Razor man. The more obvious explanation of the variable first line in the eternally shifting sands of Obama’s biography is that, rather than pretending to have been born in Hawaii, he’s spent much of his life pretending to have been born in Kenya. After all, if your first book is an exploration of racial identity and has the working title “Journeys in Black and White,” being born in Hawaii doesn’t really help. It’s entirely irrelevant to the twin pillars of contemporary black grievance — American slavery and European imperialism. To 99.99 percent of people, Hawaii is a luxury-vacation destination and nothing else. Whereas Kenya puts you at the heart of what, in an otherwise notably orderly decolonization process by the British, was a bitter and violent struggle against the white man’s rule. Cool! The composite chicks dig it, and the literary agents.
And where’s the harm in it? Everybody does it — at least in the circles in which Obama hangs. At Harvard Law School, where young Barack was “the first African-American president of TheHarvard Law Review,” there’s no end of famous firsts: As TheFordham Law Review reported, “Harvard Law School hired its first woman of color, Elizabeth Warren, in 1995.” There is no evidence that Mrs. Warren, now the Democrats’ Senate candidate, is anything other than 100 percent white. She walks like a white, quacks like a white, looks whiter than white. She’s the whitest white since Frosty the Snowman fell in a vat of Wite-Out. But she “self-identified” as Cherokee, so that makes her a “woman of color.” Why, back in 1984 she submitted some of her favorite dishes to the Pow Wow Chow cookbook, a “compilation of recipes passed down through the Five Tribes families.”
The recipes from “Elizabeth Warren — Cherokee” include a crab dish with tomato mayonnaise. Mrs. Warren’s fictional Cherokee ancestors in Oklahoma were renowned for their ability to spear the fast-moving Oklahoma crab. It’s in the state song: “Ooooooklahoma! Where the crabs come sweepin’ down the plain . . . ” But then the white man came and now the Oklahoma crab is extinct, and at the Cherokee clambakes they have to make do with Mrs. Warren’s traditional Five Tribes recipe for Cherokee Lime Pie.

(AFP) — TWO more activists have been charged with crimes tied to the NATO summit, one who wanted to blow up a Chicago bridge.
The Cook County State’s Attorney’s office charged Sebastian Senakiewicz, 24, of Chicago, with falsely making a terrorist threat. Mark Neiweem, 28, of Chicago, is charged with attempted possession of explosives or incendiary devices.
Prosecutors told a judge at an overnight court appearance that Mr Senakiewicz, a Polish native, said he could blow up a bridge in downtown Chicago. They accused him of bragging repeatedly about having explosives and said he claimed to have hid them in a hollowed out Harry Potter book. Prosecutors said searches did not uncover explosives.
Prosecutors said Mr Neiweem wanted to build a pipe bomb and wrote a list of ingredients required, including model rocket engines.
A Cook County judge set bond at US$750,000 ($762,000) for Mr Senakiewicz and US$500,000 for Mr Neiweem.
The charges came a day after three other activists appeared in court and were accused of manufacturing Molotov cocktails and harboring plans to attack President Barack Obama’s campaign headquarters and other targets during the NATO meeting.

(Yahoo! News) — Looking to a day when “the Afghan war as we understand it is over,” President Barack Obama met Sunday with Afghan President Hamid Karzai to discuss NATO’s withdrawal from that strife-torn country by the end of 2014.
Obama, who has put the draw-down of combat troops at the heart of his foreign policy, declared that “the world is behind the strategy” of giving Afghans control over their own security, but stressed that “now it’s our task to implement if effectively.”
Karzai, who aims to secure billions of dollars in long-term aid for his country’s military and economy, said he looked forward to a day when “Afghanistan is no longer a burden on the shoulders of of our friends in the international community, on the shoulders of the United States and our other allies.”
“I’m bringing to you and to the people of the United States the gratitude of the Afghan people for the support that your taxpayers’ money has provided Afghanistan over the past decade and for the difference that it has made to the well-being of the Afghan people,” Karzai told Obama.
Iraq and Afghanistan war veterans spoke out against the wars and NATO Sunday morning in Grant Park with an anti-war concert and rally and a march to near McCormick Place, where the NATO Summit was taking place, and at another rally at which many of them gave back their medals.
Army veterans Brock McIntosh and Scott Kimball said they joined the military to seek justice for 9/11 and peace and justice for the Afghan people. But speaking at a press conference in the morning, they contended that has not been the outcome of the wars.
“How many more civilians need to die in Afghanistan to make up for the civilians who died in New York City,” asked McIntosh, who served in Afghanistan. “Three-thousand people died in New York City, 33,000 civilians have died in Afghanistan, and there are no monuments to them.”
Speaking on behalf of the Iraq Veterans Against the War, which organized the protest, he and others called upon NATO to bring about the immediate withdrawal of troops from Iraq and Afghanistan, full benefits for returning service members, including mental health care; and reparations for the people of Iraq and Afghanistan.
Kimball was among roughly 40 service men and women who returned their medals to NATO representatives during the summit, labeling the labels a dishonor.
After a controlled march to Cermak and Michigan, blocks from McCormick — where world leaders were discussing the future of Afghanistan — the veterans held a ceremony on a stage. Vets held up the American flag as they applauded what they said they hoped is a turning point in the war with Afghanistan.
A bugler played “Taps” as the leaders on stage folded the flag, saying the flag represented “occupying Imperial forces. We retire this flag for the untold billions of families who suffer,” said a leader of the group.

(“C’mon, Hill, be Secretary of State for one term and I’ll make you veep the next!”)
Step back a minute: What does the president get from keeping Punxsutawney Putz on the ticket? Zippy the chimp. But if he bails on Mr. Biden, picks a woman — bam, base enthusiasm goes through the roof, women come out of the woodwork to vote (for Mrs. Clinton, not for Mr. Obama), and it’s 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. for another four years. (Plus, Joe becomes Secretary of State, because, really now, he wouldn’t know what to do if he wasn’t living off the government teat, would he?)
Marco Rubio, during an address at the annual South Carolina Republican Party’s Silver Elephant Banquet Saturday night, called President Barack Obama the most “divisive figure in modern American history.” (Via CNN):
“For all the policy disagreements that we have with our president, it is hard to understate how much he inspired people across this country four years ago,” Rubio said at a fundraising dinner for South Carolina Republicans.The man who currently occupies the White House, he explained, “is a very different person.”
“We have not seen such a divisive figure in modern American history as we have over the last three and a half years,” Rubio said.
“They get frustrated,” he said. “They can’t win on their record. And so they have chosen to go down a different road, one that I think is destructive, counterproductive and very unfortunate.”
He accused the Obama campaign of attempting to “pit Americans against each other” by engaging in class warfare and unfairly attacking Republicans on gender issues.
“Never have we seen such an effort to divide the American people in an effort to win an election as we have today,” Rubio said.

The woman does not have one shred of shame!\ (ABC News) — House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi defended the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee on “This Week” for sending a fundraising email that attempted to capitalize on the apparently dead advertising plan to link President Obama to Rev. Jeremiah Wright. The plan has been repudiated by Mitt Romney as well as the head of the super PAC reported to have been considering backing the plan.
“Why would we have any regrets?” asked Pelosi, dismissing Romney’s rejection of the proposed advertising campaign.
During our interview, Pelosi cited a previous attack by Romney on President Obama using Wright in which the former Bay State governor said “I’m not sure which is worse: him listening to Rev. Wright or him saying we must be a less-Christian nation” during an interview with Sean Hannity.

Conservative song costs coach his job
A Tennessee middle school football coach is looking to the future after his termination for alleged political incorrectness.
Twenty-six-year-old Bryan Glover is a Christian who co-wrote a song called “When You’re Holding a Hammer, Everything Looks Like a Nail,” which takes a dig at the current administration and what he believes to be the wrong moves for the U.S. He sent a link to his song to everyone in his personal e-mail inbox, which included parents from Grassland Middle School, where he coached football.
“An hour-and-a-half after sending out the e-mail, I got the phone call from the head coach saying that he had had complaints from parents; he was told to fire me,” the former coach accounts.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi predicted on ABC’s This Week today that the Democrats will retake the House of Representatives in November after two years of being in the minority. George Stephanopoulos recounted to Pelosi the claims of Speaker John Boehner that if the election is about the economy, the advantage goes to the Republicans. Pelosi was quick to contrast Obama’s economic record with what she perceives to be stonewalling on the part of Congressional Republicans.
Stephanopoulos asked what Pelosi thought would happen if the election were held today. Pelosi said the Democrats would likely retake the House of Representatives, though it probably would end up in an almost-even split between the two parties.

(The Hill) — With the evident failure of an international peace plan designed to end the violence in Syria, recent actions by the Obama administration indicate the White House could be inching toward a military response, a Senate Armed Services Committee member said.
“I think they’re moving toward some more real action,” Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-Ct.) told The Hill regarding the White House’s evolving position on Syria.
Lieberman, along with Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), has been at the forefront of the congressional effort to provide military support to Syria.
“Every day that passes more people get killed,” Lieberman said. “It’s our moral obligation to help them.”
While the Obama administration has been steadfast in its desire for a diplomatic solution to the growing Syrian crisis, the sense that time is starting to run out has begun to resonate in the halls of the White House and The Pentagon.

It appears the White House’s dishonest, media-assisted plan to concoct a Republican “War on Women” has failed and failed miserably.
Take for example former CNN anchor Campbell Brown who in Sunday’s New York Times published an op-ed surprisingly titled “Obama: Stop Condescending to Women”:
WHEN I listen to President Obama speak to and about women, he sometimes sounds too paternalistic for my taste. In numerous appearances over the years — most recently at the Barnard graduation — he has made reference to how women are smarter than men. It’s all so tired, the kind of fake praise showered upon those one views as easy to impress. As I listen, I am always bracing for the old go-to cliché: “Behind every great man is a great woman.”
Some women are smarter than men and some aren’t. But to suggest to women that they deserve dominance instead of equality is at best a cheap applause line.
My bigger concern is that in courting women, Mr. Obama’s campaign so far has seemed maddeningly off point. His message to the Barnard graduates was that they should fight for a “seat at the table” — the head seat, he made sure to add. He conceded that it’s a tough economy, but he told the grads, “I am convinced you are tougher” and “things will get better — they always do.”
Brown then shared some employment statistics that belie media assertions Obama’s policies are helping women, in particular college graduates under 30:
According to the Center for Labor Market Studies at Northeastern University, about 53.6 percent of men and women under the age of 25 who hold bachelor’s degrees were jobless or underemployed last year, the most in at least 11 years. According to the Pew Research Center, if we broaden the age group to 18- to 29-year-olds, an estimated 37 percent are unemployed or out of the work force, the highest share in more than three decades.
Brown then surprisingly took a shot at Obama’s “silly and embarrassing” new ad targeting women:
The women I know who are struggling in this economy couldn’t be further from the fictional character of Julia, presented in Mr. Obama’s Web ad, “The Life of Julia,” a silly and embarrassing caricature based on the assumption that women look to government at every meaningful phase of their lives for help.

A mob of black-clad youths barged into a Chicago restaurant yesterday and started beating diners with hammers and batons.
The Sun-Times reported:
It was the middle of the lunch rush Saturday, and Mike Winston was working in the kitchen of his Tinley Park restaurant, the Ashford House, when a waitress screamed a fight had broken out in the dining room.
Police call the melee at the restaurant a targeted assault by a mob that Winston said wielded metal batons and hammers. Ten diners were hurt in the attack, and three of those were hospitalized.
Tinley Park police had five suspected assailants in custody, and Winston said 18 young men, all wearing hooded jackets and obscuring their faces with scarves and other coverings, stormed into the restaurant.
“They came running in the door single file,” said Winston, who owns Ashford House, 7959 W. 159th St., and the adjacent Winston’s Market.
Winston, and police, said the men knew who their targets were, and that the attack wasn’t a random act of violence. Winston said the mob “targeted” a group of 20 diners, all of whom were from out of state.
“Once they attacked the table, they went and started hitting random people,” Winston said.

(The Hill) — House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) on Sunday challenged Speaker John Boehner to move forward with cutting middle class tax rates and blasted him for calling for matching cuts before agreeing to raise the debt-ceiling limit.
“Last year, just the threat of not lifting the debt ceiling caused us to, our credit rating to be lowered. This is not a responsible, mature, sensible place for us to go. We all know we have to reduce the deficit. We have to do it in a balanced way,” said Pelosi on ABC’s “This Week.”
“The speaker wants to go over the edge,” she added. “We have cut a trillion, over a trillion dollars in the Budget Control Act since the Budget Control Act of last year. There has to be more reductions but we have to have revenue and have to have growth.”
In 1998 a Colorado handyman got swept up in an avalanche that buried his snowmobile and left him stranded in a blizzard. For five days and four nights, rescue teams struggled to locate him. Luckily, the Snickers bar he had in his pocket was a king-sized version. Every one of its 510 calories helped him survive his ordeal.
Future avalanche victims had better hope for a faster rescue team. Mars Inc., the manufacturer of Snickers, is phasing out chocolate products that exceed 250 calories per portion as part of an agreement with Partnership for a Healthier America (PHA). Founded in 2010 in conjunction with the Let’s Move! program, First Lady Michelle Obama’s government initiative aimed at shaping up the nation’s youth, PHA has a mandate to “monitor and publicly report on the progress” of partners such as Mars and, more generally, to “make the healthy choice the easy choice.”
Up front let me say, Romney did make the wrong decision when it came to that purported super pac ad about Jerimiah Wright and Obama. He should have plauded the whole idea and called for it to hit the networks…
Why Wright Matters: Obama’s on a Mission from God
When Elwood retrieved his brother Jake from Joliet prison, the two went on a pilgrimage to their childhood Catholic orphanage. Their pitiful orphanage was under siege from Chicago’s infamously oppressive tax regime and was being put out of business. For inspiration, the brothers were directed to a Chicago Baptist church. The church was filled with laughter and love, song and dance, and miraculous divine inspiration that set the Blues Brothers on their own mission with a purpose: keep hope alive for Chicago orphans by paying off the corrupt Chicago regime.
The movie rendition of an all-black Baptist church led by the charismatic James Brown preacher, thrilling his flock with high-spirited love and devotion, is what gave The Blues Brothers soul. This was what America imagined successful, loving black churches in Chicago looked like. No wonder, then, that Reverend Wright’s scream for God to damn America is so jarring even to this day.
Reverend Wright’s sentiment and his rants do not belong in any American church. Getting people high on hating America and its so-called white oppressors is what carnival barkers like Al Sharpton and Jessie Jackson do for a living. Most Americans still find it hard to reconcile the rage and the hate being preached at our president’s old house of worship. Christians get high on love, not hate. Christians are encouraged to be forgiving, not condemning. Christians seek to spread the good news and Christ’s commandment that “[y]ou shall love your neighbor as yourself.” The hate and seeds of division being spouted at the president’s church are an assault on Jesus Christ, and everyone knows it.
