Brazilian baby ‘born healthy with two heads

The Daily Mail -

A Brazilian woman has given birth to a baby with two identical heads, it was reported today.

The boy was born by Caesarean at a hospital in Anajas, in Brazil’s northern Para state, weighing 9.9lbs.

Scans show that the while the child has two perfectly-formed heads, he has one heart and all his vital organs function as normal.

According to medics the newborn is in perfect health and both heads have started nursing normally.

The 25-year-old mother, who lives in a rural area of the state, had no ultra-sound scans during her pregnancy and only found out about the abnormality minutes before the baby was born at 1am on Monday morning.

Well, wife and her sister just left to do some shopping about 15 minutes ago. They ended up taking our van as her sister could not find her keys! Hahahahahhaa…so wife started van and picked her sister up. That means I am home with no vehicle. And I had plans for this morning with the wife gone.

New York’s millionaires are bailing out of the city because of onerous tax rates.

The city still has social programs and union thugs it needs to support.

So how do they raise money? By fining homeowners for putting their trash out 1/2 hour too early:

A Queens man is very upset after trying to put his trash out for collection and ending up with a ticket.

He, and others, are getting snared in an enforcement of a law that few people even know exists.

The scrooge award goes to the New York City Sanitation Department for the $100 tickets.

Raymond Janson says he received the $100 fine for putting his garbage cans at the curb 30 minutes early.

“I can’t say how incensed I am over this,” Janson says. “Not only at the excessive amount, but the nature of the summons.”

The Failure to Store Receptacle summons from the agent stated: “I did observe three 30 gallon plastic can(s) placed out on the public sidewalk on a non-collection day.”

Janson says, “We’ve lived here 30 years and always put the garbage out Monday and Thursday for Tuesday and Friday pickup.”

It is legal to put out the trash cans the day before pick-up but the time of the day matters. City sanitation rules say the cans can be put out no earlier than 4:00 p.m. from October 1st to April 1st.

Janson’s ticket was written at 3:27 p.m.

“What, do they sit down the block waiting so they can go catch all of those criminals?” Janson asked.

He wasn’t aware of the city ordinance and was upset that he didn’t get a warning. He plans to fight his ticket.

“I know the city is looking for money but this is ridiculous,” Jansen says. “With all of the things wrong with this city, this is what we crack down on! Hard working, law abiding, tax paying citizens putting out their garbage 39 minutes early!”

Fox 5 News has learned that a number of other Queens residents have also received $100 tickets for putting out the trash too early. A state senator is investigating the actions of the Sanitation Department.

A department spokesman told Fox 5 News that the law is intended to keep trash cans from blocking the sidewalks.

Last week, an elderly Brooklyn woman was ticketed for not having a lid on her trash cans. The woman says she doesn’t even own trash cans and her son takes her trash from her home. She is fighting the $300 ticket.

Taliban Demand American Leaders Be Put On Trial For “Occupation of Iraq”…

But according to Biden, the Taliban is “not our enemy.”

(CNSNews.com) – As controversy greeted Vice President Joe Biden’s assertion that the Taliban “is not our enemy,” the militant Afghan movement on Tuesday launched a verbal assault against the United States, demanding that it pay compensation and that its leaders be put on trial for the “nine year occupation of Iraq.”

In a statement attributed to Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid, the group accused the U.S. of invading Iraq in 2003 in a bid to “control its rich mineral resources and fill its belly with oil.”

But despite spending a trillion dollars and losing thousands of American soldiers, the Taliban said, “it was the will of Allah Almighty that in this Muslim country, the neck of imperialism would be broken, its plots and determination made fruitless and it would be forced to flee empty handed in the end.”

The U.S. should be forced to account for its actions in Iraq.

“The nations of the world must put pressure on the United Nations and other international organizations to drag and put on trial those perpetrators of the American administration who had a role in burning the Iraqi people in the flames of gunpowder for nearly a decade under false pretexts,” Mujahid declared.

“It is the due right of the Iraqi people to expose the American authority and to ask for a heavy compensation for causing the catastrophic destruction of Iraq.”

The statement was released two days after the last U.S. soldiers withdrew from Iraq, eight years and nine months after a U.S.-led coalition entered the country to overthrow the Saddam Hussein regime.

Each Chevy Volt sold thus far may have as much as $250,000 in state and federal dollars in incentives behind it – a total of $3 billion altogether, according to an analysis by James Hohman, assistant director of fiscal policy at the Mackinac Center for Public Policy.

Hohman looked at total state and federal assistance offered for the development and production of the Chevy Volt, General Motors’ plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. Hohman included in his analysis 18 government deals that included loans, rebates, grants and tax credits. The amount of government assistance does not include the fact that General Motors is currently 26 percent owned by the federal government.

The Volt is subsidized by multiple companies on its way to production. The analysis includes adding up the amount of government subsidies via tax credits and direct funding for not only General Motors, but other companies supplying parts for the vehicle. For example, the Department of Energy awarded a $105.9 million grant to the GM Brownstown plant that assembles the batteries. The company was also awarded approximately $106 million for its Hamtramck assembly plant in state credits to retain jobs. The company that supplies the Volt’s batteries, Compact Power, was awarded up to $100 million in refundable battery credits. These are among many of the subsidies and tax credits for the vehicle.
