Democrats Threaten “Fiscal Cliff” if GOP Doesn’t Cave on Tax Hikes

Hmmm….last year, the left was screaming about republicans holding the country hostage, but now? It is the democrats now holding our county as hostage unless the republicans cave. Which they won’t. I hope!

Cast your mind back to last summer, when virtually every Left-leaning politician and columnist in the country was denouncing House Republicans for “holding the country hostage” to their Tea Party demands, or whatever.  Many, including the Vice President, ramped up the rhetoric by comparing the GOP to terrorists. At stake was whether Congress would secure dollar-for-dollar offsets to President Obama latest debt ceiling increase request.  Democrats — who at first insisted on a “clean” debt increase with no strings attached — eventually demanded a deal that included huge tax increases.  Republicans refused.  Many painful machinations and meetings later, a tax-free deal was finally struck.*  (Our credit national credit was downgraded anyway because Standard & Poor’s didn’t believe our political system was prepared to deal with our crushing long term debt problem in a serious way.  They were right.  Since the downgrade, the responsible House-passed budget has been rejected by a Democrat-held Senate that hasn’t even attempted to pass its own budget resolution in three years, and by a president whose budget proposals have (a) been unanimously defeated, and (b) not offered any debt solutions — by the White House’s own admission).  That was how our leaders approached the last fiscal cliff.  With another one approaching, Democrats — to borrow their term — are engaging in some reckless hostage-taking brinksmanship of their own:

Democrats in the U.S. Congress warned on Monday they are prepared to let all Bush-era tax cuts expire on December 31 if Republicans continue to insist on extending lower rates for top earners.Senator Patty Murray, a member of Democratic leadership, was scheduled to deliver a tough message later on Monday aimed at bolstering her party’s election-year attack on tax cuts for those making more than $250,000 a year at a time of high budget deficits. Murray’s speech to the Brookings Institution comes as Senate Democrats prepare to bring to the full Senate this month a bill keeping tax rates low for families earning $250,000 a year or less, knowing that Republicans will block the measure. The plan takes a softer line on dividend taxes than President Barack Obama proposed in his 2013 budget, amid a corporate lobbying push on Capitol Hill. The Senate plan would raise dividend taxes from the current 15 percent to 20 percent rate, but this would be half the rate proposed by the president, according to a summary.

The July vote is seen as an opening volley in a debate that will play out after the November 6 presidential and congressional elections on the fate of the 2001 and 2003 tax cuts – valued at nearly $4 trillion over 10 years – ushered in by then-President George W. Bush. They expire at year’s end…In the drive to lower budget deficits that have been breaching the $1 trillion mark since 2009, Democrats and Republicans have already agreed to a series of spending cuts that have mainly hit domestic programs. But to accomplish additional deficit reductions, Washington is beginning to weigh seriously whether to increase tax revenues, cut into defense spending and possibly lower Social Security and Medicare benefits for the elderly.

Taking Down the Second Amendment: The Connection between Fast and Furious and the Trayvon Martin Case

Very soon after his inauguration, Barack Obama decided to move ahead with plans to use the horrific number of deaths in the Mexican drug wars as a pretext for new gun control laws.

On March 26, 2009, Attorney General Eric Holder proposed a ban on “assault weapons” in order to reduce violence south of the border.

The administration made its case by citing a GAO report.  “The number of guns that are used by the drug cartels against the police and the military — 90 percent of them come from America,” Hillary Clinton declared later the same day.

The number was too good to be true.  The report actually states that of about 30,000 firearms seized from criminals in 2008, the Mexican government submitted only 7,200 (25%) to the ATF.  The authorities knew or suspected that the rest came from their own military or police, or overseas suppliers.  Of the 7,200 weapons, only about 4,000 could be traced, and of these 4,000 about 3,480 (87%) originated in the U.S.  The real figure for guns seized from criminals in Mexico that could be traced to the U.S. is thus about 11.6%.

There is no other reasonable explanation for Fast and Furious except to improve on this dismal number.

In Phoenix, the ATF watched as over 2,000 weapons were purchased by straw buyers and transferred to the cartels.  They videotaped some of the transactions.  There was no way to track the weapons until they were found at crime scenes or seized in raids.  No GPSs were implanted in the guns.  The Mexican authorities were not informed.  Even the ATF attachés in Mexico were left in the dark.  Agents who wanted to carry out warrantless “rips” and confiscate weapons on probable cause were told to stand down.  Supervisors explained to the agents and to gun shop owners that the agency was going after the cartels: the little fish would lead the them to the big fish.  Worried gun shop owners were reassured by the ATF, but several agents were incredulous and outraged.  At least half a dozen protested and eventually came forward as whistle-blowers.

“The most transparent administration in history” immediately began stonewalling.  The DOJ sent a letter to Congress on February 4, 2011 categorically denying that the ATF had knowingly allowed the sale of assault weapons to suspicious buyers.  It was only in December 2011 that the DOJ withdrew the lying letter.

Gran Senior El Flaco Communisto.

I can’t take credit for the title. I was getting ready for work last Tuesday morning at ‘O dark thirty’. I was listening to our local conservative blowtorch, KSFO 560 AM morning drive show, starring that great nemesis of the Greenie crowd, Brian Sussman. He was talking to an American citizen of Cuban descent whose parents escaped the wonderland of Castro’s communist Cuba. Brian asked him how to say ‘skinny’ in Spanish… and they came up with the gag-line Flaco Communisto. The rest is my own invention, especially apropos given the high regard our glorious leader obviously has for he, himself and well… himself.

More and more Americans are beginning to see that the (self) anointed one is the diametric opposite of hope and change. Unless, of course, you happen to be one of the twenty percent of the American population who are content to exist on whatever meager largess the socialistas masters determine is your share of the communist paradise. America is facing the greatest threat to our existence, our way of life, our freedom and our national security since World War Two, possibly since the Civil War.

Now watch and listen to this video (be aware some strong language here because he is speaking to his brothers and sisters). But this is something the entire black community must be aware of!

The Angry Black Man

Check Out My Other Station Called “Thetruthdamit”
Angry Black Man NAACP Bet Al Sharpton Jesse Jackson “National Association For The Advancement Of Colored People”

Some blacks want to make every issue about the “white man” mistreating the “black man.” In some cases, a Black or Latino can be breaking the law and you see some advocate on television who says it is about pure racism. Joe Horn is a Texas man who shot two black Latinos as they were breaking in to his neighbor’s home. The key piece of information here is that the two criminals were breaking into a home. Mr. Horn called 911 and shot the intruders. What did the media do? They screamed bloody murder for the burglars.

It flies in the face of reason that there are so many blacks, latinos, and white liberals who take pride in defending criminals. They went so far as to say that the only reason that Mr. Horn shot the burglars was because of their skin color. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe they were breaking in to someone’s house! The last time I checked it, was against the law in all fifty states to enter someone’s home unless you have been invited. I don’t care if you are the grand wizard of the KKK; no one has the right to break in to your home.

Anyone who is so bold that they will enter your home and take your property needs only one gift: a one-way ticket to the resurrection. You would need to be out of your mind to break in to someone’s house in the first place. And you must have the intent to harm the homeowner if he or she happens to discover your presence. You think you don’t need to work and can take what you want because, well, they have something you want.

If Mr. Miguel Antonio DeJesus, thirty-eight, and Diego Ortiz, thirty, had not been breaking in a home, they would be alive today. Quanell X, a black Houston activist, said, ( ) “Mr. Horn had no moral right, no legal right, to confront these suspects after being told nine times by the 911 dispatcher not to do so.” The criminals had a moral right not to break into the home. The criminals had no legal right to be in the home without being invited. I really can’t relate to people who try to justify or defend this unscrupulous type of action. If my neighbor sees someone breaking in to my home, I would like him to shoot first and ask questions later. If you don’t like being shot, stop breaking the law.

I would like to ask Mr. Quanell how would he feel if a white man was breaking in to his house and a black neighbor shot him. Would he feel the same way about getting justice? What I have found too often with blacks, whites, and any other race is that when you make particular incidents about them. If you press the individual and ask what they would do in the same circumstance, you will see common sense take over. It is quite easy to talk about what you would do when you are not confronted with a life or death situation.

The non-thinker or arrogant person will never put themselves in another person’s state of affairs. In other words, if they were put in Mr. Horn’s position, would they want to be harassed for protecting their neighbor’s property? I don’t know why we need to pretend we are upset that criminals were killed while they were breaking the law.

Unions are opposed to vote id laws!

Media Trackers:

New documents obtained by Media Trackers reveal that the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s office recently subpoenaed the national office of the Service Employee International Union (SEIU) in Washington D.C. for the employment documents of a senior organizer currently under investigation for vote fraud in Wisconsin.

Clarence S. Haynes, along with two other SEIU organizers, were uncovered by Media Trackers in October 2011 after they registered to vote for the contentious April 5, 2011 election using out-of-state IDs and claiming residence at a Glendale hotel.

Following the Media Trackers story, the Milwaukee District Attorney’s office undertook an investigation, subpoenaing hotel records from the Glendale Residence Inn on November 4, 2011. The subpoena order and affidavit of Assistant District Attorney Bruce Landgraf indicate that the subpoenaed documents are believed to “constitute evidence of Election Law crimes in violation of 12.13 (1), Wis. Stats.” 12.13 (1) of the Wisconsin Statutes details the qualifications for voting in Wisconsin.

Then, on December 19, 2011, ADA Landgraf issued both a search warrant and subpoena focusing the investigation of election law violations on Clarence S. Haynes, a Senior Organizer with SEIU who according to 2011 Labor Department documents earned a salary of $142,444 per year. A search warrant was submitted to Google for Hayne’s private Gmail account citing that “Haynes’ e-mail account is likely to contain information concerning his plans for residency.”

But hey, obama said the private sector is doing fine just last month, June 8th!

Fox Business:

Retail and food service sales decreased 0.5% last month to a seasonally adjusted $401.52 billion, the Commerce Department reported Monday. That is the first time since the depths of the recession in 2008 that retail sales have fallen three months in a row.

Economists surveyed by Dow Jones Newswires had forecast a 0.2% rise.

Retail sales are an important component of consumer spending, which makes up about two-thirds of the economy. Early this year, households helped the recovery by buying cars, electronics, building supplies and other goods.

But consumers are losing confidence as unemployment remains high, house prices low and the outlook unpredictable. That is likely to hold back the recovery heading into the November elections.

“The weaker consumer spending will…keep a lid on headline GDP growth in the second half of the year,” Wells Fargo senior economist Eugenio Aleman said in a research note.

These people must watch and listen to our batshit crazy princess pelosi to come up with batshit crazy stuff like this!

(NOW Lebanon) — The drought in southern Iran is part of a “soft war” launched against the Islamic republic by the West, the Fars news agency quoted an Iranian vice president as saying on Monday.

“I am suspicious about the drought in the southern part of the country,” Hassan Mousavi, who also heads Iran’s cultural heritage and tourism organization, said at a ceremony to introduce the nation’s new chief of meteorological department.

“The world arrogance and colonist [term used by Iranian authorities to label the West] are influencing Iran’s climate conditions using technology… The drought is an acute issue and soft war is completely evident… This level of drought is not normal.”

Iran has experienced several droughts in recent years, especially in the south where it was hit in recent weeks by violent sand storms that engulfed several cities.

Obama and his executive orders….

Want more examples of what Obama is doing?

  • EO 10990 allows the Government to take over all modes of transportation and control of highways and seaports.
  • EO 10997 allows the government to take over all electrical power, gas, petroleum, fuels, and minerals.
  • EO 11000 allows the government to mobilize civilians into work brigades under government supervision
  • EO 11002 designates the Postmaster General to operate a national registration of all persons.
  • EO 11003 allows the government to take over all airports and aircraft, including commercial aircraft.
  • EO 11004 allows the Housing and Finance Authority to relocate and establish new locations for populations.
  • EO 11005 allows the government to take over railroads, inland waterways, and public storage facilities.

Are we beginning to see a pattern here? We’re being prepared for a national emergency. Then there’s taking control. I personally think that what Obama is doing goes way beyond being prepared

Now the Government Will Decide Who Gets a Loan

But don’t fear, the leftist assholes assure us that Obama isn’t taking control.

The companies that determine Americans’ credit scores are about to come under the oversight of the nation’s new consumer watchdog.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau said Monday that it will start supervising the 30 largest firms that make up 94 percent of the industry. That includes the three big credit reporting firms: Equifax Inc., Experian and TransUnion.

In remarks prepared for a speech Monday, Richard Cordray, the government agency’s director, said that scorekeeping by credit bureaus plays such a large role in Americans’ financial lives, it requires scrutiny.

Really understanding President Obama’s governing philosophy and agenda doesn’t require a whole fleet of investigative reporters or opposition researchers. All you have to do is take a reasonably careful look at his campaign stump speech, a collection of half-truths, misrepresentations, and distortions that are ultimately disrespectful of the American people.

“This is my last political campaign…I’m term limited,” he said Saturday at Centreville High School in Clifton, Virginia in remarks that were similar to others he’s delivered in recent weeks. It could be. But nothing prevents Mr. Obama from trying to return to the Senate after his presidency, or from trying to run for the office again if he loses this time.

“My grandfather fought in World War II…when my grandfather came back, he was able to go to college because of the GI Bill and they were able to afford their first home through an FHA loan.” There’s no mention by Obama in the stump speech of hisother grandfather, Hussein Onyango Obama, a Kenyan cook who had five wives and converted to Islam. Also, Mr. Obama seems unable to imagine that his American grandfather might have found some way to afford a home without the help of the FHA, as many Americans somehow miraculously did before the FHA was created in 1934.

“At the center of our stories is this basic American idea, this core American Dream… It means maybe you can take a vacation once in a while … And it means that you can retire with some dignity and some respect. It’s that basic bargain that makes this country great.” President Obama has turned the American Dream of freedom and opportunity and hard work into a dream of vacation and retirement.

“How do we build an economy where hard work pays off — whether you’re starting a business or punching a clock, you know that if you put in the effort, you’ll get ahead?” President Obama would be better off taking the advice of Thomas Friedman and Michael Mandelbaum in their book That Used To Be Us: “American young people have got to understand from an early age that the world pays off on results, not on effort.” A world in which effort alone always pays off for everyone just isn’t a possible or even desirable reality. If it were, every Little Leaguer would be a professional baseball player.

Recently this comment was dropped on my facebook page: “wow, u really hate black, i mean obama.” I decided to engage this and another black man in conversation; one that isn’t over yet. My initial words were: “It’s nice to meet you Marcus, but I don’t like Obama’s white half or his Arab part either.” He responded:

“My problem with Torey is that she has all these cartoon posts about black following Obama as if we brainwashed or something. My thing is that we have dealt with 43 white presidents. We finally get one, let us be happy! We are americans too, for so many years we have had a Commander in Chief who could not identify with us. We have one now, it may not happen for another 43-44 terms. Dont make us feel bad for being proud to have a black man be the President! she’s saying he’s half white, he’s arab…HE’S YOUR PRESIDENT!”

And I loved that comment. It was passionate and honest. I can deal with honesty. I can be honest right back because there is no pretense. I’ll get back to that.

Morgan Freeman made recent statements on a talk show, which this cartoonist is depicting. “[He] informed his host that, contrary to the prevailing wisdom, Barack Hussein Obama is not America’s first black president. He is the country’s ‘first mixed-race president.’ The first black president, Freeman continued, has not as yet ‘arisen.’”

Freeman goes on to blame Obama’s white opponents for the characterization of Obama as black. Huh? He had previously identified Obama as the first black president, and tea partiers protesting his ideology and policies as racists, but now he’s had a change of perspective; Obama isn’t so black after all. Then I suppose we aren’t so racist for opposing him after all either—ha!

The comment Marcus dropped on my page and the latest Freeman interview statements are good examples of the struggles blacks are having in defending Obama. First, in 7,000 cartoons on my toon page and at least 4,500 cartoons on my main page, I don’t recall seeing one about blacks following Obama because they are brainwashed. I do recall one cartoon that showed Obamabots in a trance blindly following him and there may have been a black character included, but certainly not all black characters. Regardless, the evidence is everywhere that what has been promised has not been delivered. And what was delivered is not what was wanted, and certainly not what was needed.

My interpretation is that Marcus was reading his own cognitive dissonance over Obama’s performance and lack thereof into the cartoons, and he’s projecting some of his frustration onto me too. He wants to be happy about Obama, but he’s not happy about Obama. He’s upset, too, and perhaps questioning why blacks should blindly follow Obama. And, like Freeman, he’s blaming white opponents because old habits are hard to break.

Blacks understandably wanted a first black president to be proud of. Obviously whites did, too, because they voted en masse to put him in office. But blacks are conflicted over Obama’s support of gay marriage; his failure to address (or acknowledge) black unemployment; his lavish lifestyle partying with rich white guys, but mainly they see his arrogance. He takes them for granted. And he talks down to them. And he doesn’t tell the truth.

Okay, tonight it was reported a naval vessel opened fire on a boat that would not stop coming at it. And killed one person. No further details yet.

Now if every naval vessel we had in the Persian Gulf, off the coast of Somalia and elsewhere actually did start using these guns against any ship that came close? Or especially again known pirates? Problem solved!
