A largely unknown group of Justice Department officials has inserted itself into the local Florida protest movement surrounding the killing of Trayvon Martin, assisting the protestors and attending their meetings and rallies.
While the officials are tasked with preventing racial violence, it appears that in carrying out their duties, they have provided significant assistance to those protesting the killing of Martin, who black, by George Zimmerman, who is half white and half Hispanic.
The officials are members of the DOJ’s Community Relations Service, also known as “The Peacemakers,” a special unit established under the 1964 Civil Rights Act and empowered to act to mitigate local tensions between ethnic groups.
From the CRS website:
It is the only Federal entity dedicated to assisting state and local government units, private and public organizations, and community groups with preventing and resolving racial and ethnic tensions, incidents, and civil disorders. The CRS works to restore stability and accord.
Under President Obama, the group’s mission has expanded substantially. Officials are permitted to take on a more aggressive role, moving from a “reactionary” to a “preventative” stance, CRS Director Ondray Harris told the website Main Justice. And the categories that can bring in The Peacemakers now include gender, “gender identity,” sexual orientation, religion, and disability.
Martin’s killing set off vocal protests – led by Al Sharpton – demanding the arrest of Zimmerman. Faced with threats of escalating fury from the protestors, Florida officials arrested Zimmerman last week. Obama and Attorney General Eric Holder have both suggested sympathy for the protestors or for Martin himself.
According to the Orlando Sentinel, The Peacemakers have ended up offering advice and assistance to the protestors.
When racial tensions flared in Sanford, a league of secretive peacemakers reached out to the city’s spiritual and civic leaders to help cool heated emotions after 17-year-old Trayvon Martin was shot and killed in February.
When civil-rights organizers wanted to demonstrate, these federal workers taught them how to peacefully manage crowds.
They even arranged a police escort for college students to ensure safe passage for their 40-mile march from Daytona Beach to Sanford to demand justice.
The Peacemakers are viewed by the protestors as a quietly protective, on-the-ground force, the Sentinel story makes clear.
“They were there for us,” said the Rev. Valarie Houston, pastor of Allen Chapel AME Church, a focal point for the community after the unarmed teen’s death. She met the peacekeepers there for the first time during a March 20 town-hall meeting. “We felt protected,” she said.
Houston said the conciliators told her they act as the “eyes and ears of the community” and provided guidance about keeping their message about nonviolence clear.
At every rally, community meeting and march, since the shooting, conciliators were there.
In their Navy blue windbreakers, polo shirts and dark sunglasses, they look like federal agents.
Their caps are embroidered with the Justice Department’s seal. They watch and listen silently. But they say little publicly.
When reporters try to chat them up, they remain stoic, saying simply they cannot talk to the media.
There is a secretive aspect to the group’s activities, although officials assert this is to facilitate participation in The Peacemakers mediation efforts. According to Main Justice, officials are barred from revealing the identity of parties participating in negotiations overseen by the CRS.
…….. spend weeks planning the perfect desert camping and riding trip.
Two days before the group is to leave Rob’s wife puts her foot down and tells him he isn’t going.
Rob’s friends are very upset that he can’t go, but what can they do.
Two days later the three get to the camping site only to find Rob sitting there with a tent set up, firewood gathered, and supper cooking on the fire.
“Dang man, how long you been here and how did you talk your wife into letting you go?”
“Well, I’ve been here since yesterday. Yesterday evening I was sitting in my chair and my wife came up behind me and put her hands over my eyes and said ‘guess who’?”
I pulled her hands off and she was wearing a brand new see through nightie. She took my hand and took me to our bedroom. The room had two dozen candles and rose pedals all over. She had on the bed, handcuffs and ropes! She told me to tie and cuff her to the bed and I did. And then she said, “now, you can do what ever you want.”
So here I am.
Just imagine how SNL, Bill Maher, Jon Stewart and the news networks would be smearing George Bush if he made this kind of mistake.
But since this is their dear leader fucking up, he again gets a pass. No comedian will take on Barry and no liberal press will castigate him.
President Obama erred during a speech at the Summit of the Americas in Cartagena, Colombia, when attempting to call the disputed archipelago by its Spanish name.
Instead of saying Malvinas, however, Mr Obama referred to the islands as the Maldives, a group of 26 atolls off that lie off the South coast of India.
The Maldives were a British protectorate from 1887 to 1965 and the site of a UK airbase for nearly 20 years.
Cristina Kirchner, the Argentine president, has renewed her country’s sovereignty claim to the Falklands in the build-up to the 30th anniversary of the Argentine invasion of the islands, which triggered the Falklands War, on April 2.
“The American system of justice must be changed to conform to the rest of the world, and there must be a shift in attitudes. Individual wants, needs and desires are to be conformed to the views and dictates of government planners. In the process of implementing sustainable development, individual rights will have to take a back seat to the collective.”
If you had to wager a guess, where would you think these words came from? A heretofore-undiscovered George Orwell novel? A Hollywood writer scripting a film about a fictitious repressive government of the distant future? Perhaps a portion of the Marxist communist manifesto?
Well, you would be wrong on all counts.
This is one of the goals and intentions of the United Nation’s Agenda 21, which is in its infant days of being implemented at this very moment with the full knowledge and approval of high government officials and extremely powerful people around the world.
For years we’ve heard bits and pieces about our federal government giving little bits of our sovereignty over to the UN, its been happening so gradually and so secretively that it has stayed below the radar of most of us.
National parks, wetlands, people going to jail for violating some international treaty they had no idea even existed, regarding what they can and cannot do on our own land.
In the next few Soapbox articles we will try to shed some light on the scope and deadly seriousness of this global power grab that threatens the freedom of every man, woman and child in this nation, and for that matter, this planet.
You’re already hearing the rhetoric as the terminology evolves with phrases like, paying your fair share, sharing the wealth and making the rich pay more are creeping into the political and media lexicon and being widely accepted as a remedy to America’s fiscal woes.
This theory is not only misleading but an out and out, bald faced lie and the
Politicians who are promoting it know that even if they get the tax increases on the wealthy they’re calling for, it will not even service the interest on the national debt.
The politics of globalism is not to better the human condition, but to control it, to convince the have-nots that the reason they are not better off, is that they have been treated unfairly by those who have more than they do. That somehow they have been cheated out of a level playing field and their opportunity at the American dream by the callousness and greed of the successful.
And since they have been treated unfairly the have-nots have a right to a portion of the ill-gotten gains of those who are better off, after all.
It’s so much easier to blame your condition on someone else than it is to accept responsibility for your own life, notwithstanding the difference in work ethic, morals and the pursuit of education.
After all, it must be a quirk of life that he has more than I do, I deserve some of what he has, and it’s only fair, right?
This attitude promotes deep divisions along racial, social and economic
lines and makes the job of those who promote such theories much easier.
A divided population is much easier to conquer, to persuade them that everybody should have an equal sized piece of the pie.
It’s called socialism.
That is the basic and ultimate goal of the United Nations and the powerful puppet masters who sit in the shadows and pull the strings.
Chaos actually benefits their purposes; they exploit the fear and hate of the masses by having all the answers, just keep us in power and we’ll see to it that everybody shares in the wealth.
Power is the name of this game. global power, and in the next few soapboxes we will explore, expose, warn and talk about what “We The People” can do about this hellish plot.
Prepare to be shocked; we have only skimmed the surface and what lies below is sobering and chilling and hopefully a wake up call to those who care about the future of our beloved United States of America.
What do you think?
Pray for our troops, and for our country.
God Bless America
CBS’ Face the Nation yesterday featured activists Michael Eric Dyson and Touré, along with correspondent Marc Strassmann, accusing George Zimmerman of racial motivations in shooting Trayvon Martin.
Strassmann, Dyson, and Touré, unable to accuse Zimmerman directly of racism, tried to associate him with the broader problem of prejudice in American society–and in Sanford, Florida, where the death occurred:
MICHAEL ERIC DYSON: Right. And– and let’s look at the predictability of the pattern here. It is not the case that young white men in hoodies have been assaulted or who are dressed of the inappropriate fashion. Don’t forget, Bob, that dress for African-American people has always signified beyond fashion or sartorial splendor. How we dress is an indication of where we stand in society. Remember, right after slavery, black people got dressed in extravagant fashion and that caused great resentment to– for white Americans who believed that black people were being uppity because they were trying to out-dress their status.
Now it is the case that whatever hoods we wear, sagging pants, those become part of the folklore of American racism because it now signifies to white America that this is a hood, this is a thug, and the suspicion that is cast not only on Trayvon Martin. Look at the President of the United States of America. Here is a guy who do it the right way. He went to Harvard, he’s the President. Look at the– the ready– the– the steady stream of racism and bigotry–
TOURE: He’s threatening Jan Brewer.
MICHAEL ERIC DYSON: — the- the– the stereotypes that prevail, right, I’m afraid of him, he’s a– he’s a moron, he’s an orangutan, he’s an animal. Look at all of that.
(I can agree with them on what they said about Barry)
Funny when you think about it!
SANFORD, FLA – After receiving the news that George Zimmerman had been arrested for killing Trayvon Martin, the New Black Panther Party announced that they’ve retracted the $10,000 bounty they’d placed on Zimmerman’s head and will instead use the money for a trip to Disney World. Black Panther spokesman Mikhail Muhammad told reporters the revolutionary group will re-issue the bounty should George Zimmerman be acquitted of the charge. When a reporter inquired about his recent threats of a race war, Muhammad paused before answering.
“The race war has been put on hold until we return from Disney World,” he sighed. “It’s been a long and hard 400 years and nothing can ease the pain of repression like a visit with Mickey Mouse. When I get back I’ll be exploring race riot options with Al Sharpton and Spike Lee. Although I can assure you a race riot is imminent, at this point our timetable is open-ended.”
Anonymous sources close to the New Black Panther Party told the Daily Rash that not only was the group unable to raise the $10,000 bounty they offered for Zimmerman, but the sum total in their petty cash drawer was only $137.47.
Damn glad this idiot is retiring!
Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., said he advised President Obama against taking up health care reform following a special election in 2010 that changed Democrats’ fortunes in the Senate, saying that he should have instead turned his focus to financial reform.
Frank referenced former President Bill Clinton and his failed health care plan from the 1990s. “Obama made the same mistake Clinton made,” Frank said in a wide-ranging interview with New York magazine. “When you try to extend health care to people who don’t have it, people who have it and are on the whole satisfied with it get nervous.”
While referencing the “War on Moms” started by Obama here and fumbled by Hilary Rosen here, ABC’s George Stephanopoulos said what many in the left-wing media are saying: “I tend to agree with you all that this particular dispute is going to flare up and flame out[.]” Which is the kind of wishful thinking we never heard them express as they played good little White House Palace Guards and jumped on the White House bandwagon to destroy Rush Limbaugh.
But I digress.
Make no mistake about the role Stephanopoulos plays in the media. His job is to protect Democrats and most especially Barack Obama. Therefore, him trial ballooning the idea that the President had better distance himself from HBO’s Bill Maher is a big deal.
Because Maher’s $1 million donation went to a super PAC, by law Obama cannot directly have anything to do with returning it. What Obama can do, though, and what it looks as though Stephanopolous is suggesting he do, is make clear to the super PAC that he would prefer they issue a refund.
Stephanopolous is also sending a signal to Bill Maher that the right thing to do here would be to ask for the money back.
Greg Gutfeld on Monday attacked comics for not making jokes about the current White House resident.
Appearing on Fox News’s The Five, Gutfeld said, “Asking a comedian to make fun of Obama is like asking a priest to mock Christ”
GREG GUTFELD: So comedians and their adoring media are in a crisis: How do you make fun of Mitt Romney when you’re dumb? Well, you can keep doing the rich thing like commentator Paul Begala. FYI: I hear he is playing Paul Bunyan’s big toe in an upcoming bio. It’s true. When comparing Mitt to Obama, Paul said Romney could buy and sell him 100 times. Glad I didn’t say that.
Anyway, now hacks are comparing Mitt to Mad Men’s Don Draper. Yeah, that’s smart. Compare a Mormon family man to a hard-drinking, hard-smoking ladies’ man. What is the connection here? Well, they’re both good looking and successful. Clever.
And how sad is it that comics just can’t get a handle on Obama even when those ears look so tempting? In the Times yesterday, Maureen Dowd chatted with Saturday Night Live over how tough political comedy is. Says Seth Meyers, “Comedy writers are incredibly promiscuous and we want as many targets as possible.” He left out the word “Republican” before targets because I don’t see much else on that show.
An illegal immigrant wants to be accepted to the Florida bar.
Note that nowhere in this article (other than the title) is this POS identified as an “ILLEGAL” immigrant.
So exactly how can the Florida Bar allow him knowing he’s already breaking the law by being here?
Aren’t lawyers supposed to be “OFFICERS” of the court and with clean records?
Even more pathetic is that the Florida Bar (a place that already is chock full of lawyers) is asking the court if it can do this.
If these assholes don’t know what is legal or not, heaven help us getting a lawyer a all.
Can an immigrant without a green card get a Florida Bar card?
Aspiring lawyer Jose Godinez-Samperio, 25, a Tampa-area resident, is hoping the answer is yes.
A native of Mexico who entered the United States legally with his parents 16 years ago on a tourist visa, Godinez-Samperio is a graduate of the Florida State University College of Law, the valedictorian of the Armwood High School class of 2004, an Eagle Scout — and an undocumented immigrant.
That last quality may keep him from achieving his dream.
The Florida Board of Bar Examiners, which grants membership to the Bar, has asked the state Supreme Court to determine whether it can accept someone who is not in the country legally. The Supreme Court flagged the case as “high profile” last week.
“No one who has shown this guy’s level of contempt for American law should be practicing law,” said William Gheen, president of Americans for Legal Immigration, a political action committee that opposes amnesty for undocumented immigrants.
Tom Fitton, president of the conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch, agreed.
“He can’t practice as a lawyer,” Fitton said. “He is not legally able to work in the United States. … It seems to me that it would be an absurdity to give him a Bar card at this point.”
