Is the Obama Campaign Already Coming Off the Rails

It’s only Tuesday, but it has already been a terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad week for the Obama campaign. Saddled with increasingly bad economic data, the campaign has been doggedly trying to change the subject to anything other than jobs and deficits. We’ve been treated to a mythical GOP “war on women”, a “debate” on birth control, a “road to Damascus” moment on gay marriage, an “expose” of Romney “bullying” in high school, and the burning question of who is a better pet owner. Unfortunately for Obama and his allies in the media, none of it is working.

Yesterday’s CBS/NYT poll makes it very clear that voters care about only one thing: The Economy. The only other issues that registers in the double-digits? Government spending and deficits–not exactly a winning issue for Obama. Not only do voters not care about the social issues Obama and the media are fixated on, there are signs that focus is backfiring. The biggest shift in voter sentiment in the CBS poll was among women, who, in just one month, shifted their support from Obama to Romney. In April, Obama had led Romney by six points among women. Today, women prefer Romney by two points.

In a shocking interview yesterday on the Sean Hannity Radio Show, author Ed Klein said Barack Obama’s former pastor helped Obama accept Christianity without having to renounce Islam.
The Daily Caller reported:

Klein also said Wright told him he “made it comfortable” for Obama to accept Christianity without having renounce his “Islamic background,” which Klein said he has on tape.

Here is Ed Klein on Hannity talking about his interview with Rev. Jeremiah Wright.

Beltway Confidential:

Did the Rev. Jeremiah Wright influence President Obama’s decision to support gay marriage? A prominent black Baptist pastor told MSNBC that Wright has presided over homosexual “commitment ceremonies” in his pastoral career.

“It seemed to me, from way back then, that he was leaning in this direction and others,” Bishop Harry Jackson, senior pastor at Hope Christian Church in Washington D.C., said to explain why he — though a Democrat — did not vote for Obama in 2008. “Jeremiah Wright is known to have performed commitment ceremonies for gays and lesbians awhile back,” he said.

You want sympathy, look in the dictionary between shit and syphilis!

Well, looks like obama is laying the groundwork for yet another assault on our constitution!

Weekly Standard:

When President Obama came out last week in favor of redefining marriage, he couched his opinion in the context of federalism, saying, “I think it is a mistake to — try to make what has traditionally been a state issue into a national issue.” During that same interview, however, he declared that a bipartisan law designed to protect states from judges who redefine marriage in other states, is “unconstitutional.” It’s very hard to square these two statements.

The Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) was passed with greater than 80 percent majorities in both the House and Senate and signed into law by President Clinton. It was designed to protect states from rogue rulings by other states’ judges, a few of whom had “found” a right to gay marriage hidden in their state constitutions. DOMA defines the use of the word “marriage” in all federal laws or regulations as referring to a union between a husband and wife, and it shields states from having to comply with other states’ — or their judges’ — contrary definitions. In other words, at least at the state level, DOMA leaves this issue up to the states.

In his interview, however, Obama said, “Well, I — you know, my Justice Department has already — said that it is not gonna defend — the Defense Against [sic] Marriage Act; that we consider that a violation of [the] equal protection clause. And I agree with them on that.” Making sure to take credit, he added, “You know? I helped to prompt that — that move on the part of the Justice Department.”

Just what the hell is wrong with this state? To allow a KNOWN illegal to get his drivers license back? Must be something to do with his name….

(Boston Herald) — President Obama’s illegal-alien uncle is once again a fully legal Massachusetts driver, reclaiming his license this afternoon after serving a 45-day suspension he agreed to as part of a plea deal in a drunken-driving rap.

Onyango Obama, 67, walked into the Registry of Motor Vehicles’ Worcester branch about 2:30 this afternoon and walked out moments later with a new license, according to RMV spokeswoman Sara Lavoie. Obama had been driving for about a month and a half on a hardship license, which allowed him to get behind the wheel only during certain hours.

“The hardship restriction was lifted today as allowed by law,” Lavoie said.

Obama has held a Massachusetts license since at least the early 1990s, officials say; the RMV does not check immigration status and Obama did have a valid Social Security number as required.

Then Zimmerman shot him in self defense.

(ABC News) — A medical report compiled by the family physician of accused Trayvon Martin murderer George Zimmerman and obtained exclusively by ABC News found that Zimmerman was diagnosed with a “closed fracture” of his nose, a pair of black eyes, two lacerations to the back of his head and a minor back injury the day after he fatally shot Martin during an alleged altercation.

Zimmerman faces a second degree murder charge for the Feb. 26 shooting that left the unarmed 17-year-old high school junior dead. Zimmerman has claimed self defense in what he described as a life and death struggle that Martin initiated by accosting him, punching him in the face, then repeatedly bashing his head into the pavement. . . .

The morning after the shooting, on Feb. 27, Zimmerman sought treatment at the offices of a general physician at a family practice near Sanford, Fla. The doctor notes Zimmerman sought an appointment to get legal clearance to return to work.

The record shows that Zimmerman also suffered bruising in the upper lip and cheek and lower back pain. The two lacerations on the back of his head, one of them nearly an inch long, the other about a quarter-inch long, were first revealed in photos obtained exclusively by ABC News last month. . . .

In addition to his physical injuries, Zimmerman complained of stress and “occasional nausea when thinking about the violence.” But he was not diagnosed with a concussion. The doctor noted that it was “imperative” that Zimmerman “be seen with [sic] his psychologist for evaluation.”. . .

A neighbor told ABC News that the day after the shooting he saw Zimmerman as he spoke to officers outside his home. He too recalled seeing black eyes and significant swelling — as well as a bandage over his nose.

Moments after the shooting Zimmerman told eyewitnesses he shot Martin in self defense. He later told officers his head was being pounded into the pavement and that he feared for his life, but that it was only when Martin seemed to reach for the gun wedges in his waistband that Zimmerman drew his weapon and fired directly into Martin’s chest — killing him.

The medical notes may bolster Zimmerman’s claim that he acted in self-defense because he was being attacked. However, the prosecution contends that Zimmerman instigated the confrontation after profiling the teen, who was walking home after buying skittles and ice tea. They prosecution says Martin was breaking no laws and was not disturbing anyone as he walked back to his father’s girlfriend’s home.

And Obama is using gay marriage to deflect attention from all his screw ups and the bad economy!

(Fox News) — As President Obama spoke at length in a pre-taped interview Tuesday about his decision to back gay marriage, a new poll shows the issue is the top concern for just 7 percent of registered voters.

A CBS News/New York Times poll showed, as expected, that the economy is far and away the top issue for U.S. voters.

A whopping 62 percent of those who responded listed it as their most important issue in the upcoming election, with most of those polled saying they think the economy’s in bad shape. They were divided on the question of whether the economy is actually improving under Obama — the largest percentage, 39 percent, said the economy had stayed the same.

Meanwhile, just 7 percent in the poll listed gay marriage as their top issue.

That number would seem to align with comments from Republican officials in recent days who’ve claimed that the gay marriage debate will sway some voters, but the race will continue to turn on the economy.

Should Gays be allowed to marry?

As I said previously, we fear what we do not know or understand. When I first learned about gays, I experienced a tremendous “ick!!” moment. When I saw outlandish male homosexuals in parades and such on television I was really distressed. It colored my thinking and was a very negative influence. These people seemed to almost be from a different planet to me. Additionally, the Bible, in spite of gay claims to the contrary, clearly indicates a strong dislike of the gay lifestyle.
However, I’ve since discovered that gays are just people like you and me. Most of them are not outlandish in dress; they have normal jobs and came from families with a mother and father and siblings, who usually at least, are not gay. I know a few gays, inside and outside of my family, and all that I know now or have known in the past are good people. They struggle with the same things we do, plus a little/maybe a lot extra. We need to love them like our brothers and sisters; they are also God’s children.
Clearly there are two points of view here. From my church’s viewpoint, the lifestyle is not acceptable to God. Marriage is out of the question. Many churches see it this way. From a political point of view, however, the opinion is the opposite. The declaration of Independence declares that life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness are endowed to all of us by God. While perhaps not having the full strength of the constitution behind these words, it is obvious that the founders meant these words to be part of how America works.

What to do when the two conflict? I think we fight with all of our hearts to have our opinion known, to pass laws that reflect our opinion and hope that they are declared constitutional. That is the right of the people in a democracy. But we must realize that the minority also has rights; they have their liberty to pursue happiness. As conservatives, we must also protect that right. Frankly, we are no longer in the majority in this area. My kids and the rising generation have been desensitized. The “ick” factor is gone. They have been raised with kids who have gay parents and they know the kids are pretty much like them. As the younger get older, some will join our side, but not most. Eventually, barring the second coming, they will win.

You know as well as I do that the liberal media will either not report black on white attacks and killings, or they leave out race altogether. All to protect their precious race war label they place on conservatives! Sure are a lot of Obama’s sons out there that are no freaking good and should be jailed, if not shot!

A Censored Race War?

When two white newspaper reporters for the Virginian-Pilot were driving through Norfolk, and were set upon and beaten by a mob of young blacks — beaten so badly that they had to take a week off from work — that might seem to have been news that should have been reported, at least by their own newspaper. But it wasn’t.

“The O’Reilly Factor” on Fox News Channel was the first major television program to report this incident. Yet this story is not just a Norfolk story, either in what happened or in how the media and the authorities have tried to sweep it under the rug.

Similar episodes of unprovoked violence by young black gangs against white people chosen at random on beaches, in shopping malls or in other public places have occurred in Philadelphia, New York, Denver, Chicago, Cleveland, Washington, Los Angeles and other places across the country. Both the authorities and the media tend to try to sweep these episodes under the rug as well.

Alarm Grows Among Dems About Obama’s Chances

“You can be stylish and powerful, too. That’s Michelle’s advice.”

President Obama telling graduates to temper but preserve their interest in clothing during his commencement address at Barnard College, a women-only college of New York’s Columbia University.

It has taken months of bad news, but Democrats increasingly believe that President Obama might just lose his re-election bid.

The latest wake-up call comes in the form of a New York Times/CBS poll showing Republican Mitt Romney in the lead not just among registered voters overall, but with women and independents.

The Times/CBS survey is unique in that the pollsters called back the same phone numbers they had a month before. In April, Obama and Romney were dead even. Now, Romney leads by 3 points overall. That’s still within the margin of error — a statistical tie.

But the shifts with women, moderates and independents are all statistically significant. Obama lost 5 points with each of those demographics.

Team Obama has for months been warning Democrats not to be overconfident and warning of a close election, with the president increasingly sounding the alarm for donors and activists in recent campaign appearances.
