Yet Another Journalist Says Lying Is A-OK
“MSNBC’s Toure: Lying to a ‘Corporation’ Like Amazon Is ‘Not Really’ Lying,” as spotted by Ken Shepherd at Newsbusters:
During a panel discussion on Amazon.com offering discounts to consumers who are parents — a discount mechanism completely on the honor system since the company cannot verify claims of parenthood — MSNBC The Cycle co-host Toure Neblett justified lying to take advantage of the discount, saying “nobody was getting hurt here.”
“If a lie is being told to a corporation, it’s not really a lie,” Neblett quipped, shortly after calling a lie about qualifying for the discount “a noble lie.” For his part, Business Insider writer Josh Barro also excused dishonestly benefiting from the discount because such discount gimmicks are “price discrimination” and because brick-and-mortar Amazon competitors are supposedly the victims of the cutthroat corporate suits at Amazon. But Neblett is himself a paid corporate representative, of Comcast, the parent company of NBC-Universal. If he thinks it’s OK to lie to a corporation, then the reverse must be OK as well from his perspective: In other words, that it’s fine for a corporation and its spokesmen — such as Neblett — to lie to its customers. And given the deep interconnections between NBC and the Obama White House, presumably, Neblett must believe that this sort of lying is acceptable as well, from a politician:

Federal Judge Rules Obama Administration “Aids and Abets Human Trafficking”
A federal judge in Texas has issued a searing indictment of the Obama administration’s immigration policy. He accuses the government of “completing the criminal mission” of human traffickers “who are violating the border security of the United States” and assisting a “criminal conspiracy in achieving its illegal goals.” The judge calls the administration’s behavior “dangerous and unconscionable” and says that “DHS should cease telling the citizens of the United States that it is enforcing our border security laws because it is clearly not. Even worse, it is helping those who violate these laws.”
On December 13, federal district court Judge Andrew S. Hanen of Brownsville, Texas, issued his order in U.S. v. Nava-Martinez. It described in shocking detail the malfeasance of the government. Mirtha Veronica Nava-Martinez, an admitted human trafficker and resident alien, pleaded guilty to attempting to smuggle a ten-year-old El Salvadoran girl into the U.S. This was Nava-Martinez’s second felony offense; she was convicted of food-stamp fraud in 2011. She was caught at the Brownsville & Matamoros Bridge checkpoint in Texas, after being hired by “persons unknown” to smuggle the girl into the U.S. The girl’s mother, Patricia Elizabeth Salmeron Santos, is an illegal alien living in Virginia. She had solicited the unknown smugglers to get her daughter from El Salvador to the U.S. for the agreed-upon price of $8,500.

I am tired of that word; it is now forever banned from this site.
Just because I think it is disgusting for two harry-@$$ed men to pound each other in the crap-hole doesn’t mean I am afraid of them. I am also disgusted by my dog who enjoys licking his balls, and I am not afraid of him either.
I have a natural involuntary gag reflex to both – I was born that way.
If queers want to wallow in their perversion, fine! They just can’t go around trying to force other people agree with them.
It is time people told the PC thought police Nazi to shut up and worry about themselves.
Don’t look for this story from Huntsville, Alabama in the national news. It doesn’t help advance the establishment media’s agenda:
State prosecutors say they are “confident and satisfied” that Carl Philip Herold, accused of holding a child captive, sexually torturing him and producing child pornography of the torture, will show up for trial after a judge here raised Herold’s bond to $1 million cash [Tuesday]. …
Herold, 32, faces charges of producing child pornography, distributing child pornography, allowing his child to be depicted in pornography, sodomy, sexual abuse and aggravated child abuse. …
[District Judge Alison] Austin issued a similar order Monday raising to $1 million the bond against Charles Dunnavant, identified as Herold’s domestic partner and suspected partner in the alleged crimes. Dunnavant faces charges including sexual torture, sodomy, aggravated child abuse and transmitting or exposing a person to a STD.
Meanwhile, liberals continue to push for more homosexual adoption, which will probably become commonplace unless their recent victories regarding homosexual “marriage” are reversed. The results of homosexual adoption have been exactly what any informed person would expect; for examples, see here, here, and here.
Herold was born too soon. At the rate our society is rotting away, in another 10 years we will be accused of being “haters” for disapproving of his alleged acts.
Story of the year
The lie of the year, according to Politifact, is “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it.” But the story of the year is a nation waking up to just how radical Obamacare is — which is why it required such outright deception to get it passed in the first place.
Obamacare was sold as simply a refinement of the current system, retaining competition among independent insurers but making things more efficient, fair and generous. Free contraceptives for Sandra Fluke. Free mammograms and checkups for you and me. Free (or subsidized) insurance for some 30 million uninsured. And, mirabile dictu, not costing the government a dime.
In fact, Obamacare is a full-scale federal takeover. The keep-your-plan-if-you-like-your-plan ruse was a way of saying to the millions of Americans who had insurance and liked what they had: Don’t worry. You’ll be left unmolested. For you, everything goes on as before.
That was a fraud from the very beginning. The law was designed to throw people off their private plans and into government-run exchanges where they would be made to overpay — forced to purchase government-mandated services they don’t need — as a way to subsidize others. (That’s how you get to the ostensible free lunch.)
It wasn’t until the first cancellation notices went out in late 2013 that the deception began to be understood. And felt. Six million Americans with private insurance have just lost it. And that’s just the beginning. By the Department of Health and Human Services’ own estimates, about 75 million Americanswould have plans that their employers would have the right to cancel. And millions of middle-class workers who will migrate to the exchanges and don’t qualify for government subsidies will see their premiums, deductibles and co-pays go up.
It gets worse. The dislocation extends to losing one’s doctor and drug coverage, as insurance companies narrow availability to compensate for the huge costs imposed on them by the extended coverage and “free” services the new law mandates.
But it’s not just individuals seeing their medical care turned upside down. The insurance providers, the backbone of the system, are being utterly transformed. They are rapidly becoming mere extensions of the federal government.
