Obama and Abbas Are Destructive to the People They Represent

By Lauri B. Regan at American Thinker:

The disgraceful and immoral Jay Carney once again took to his soapbox and admonished Republicans for their irresponsibility for not caving to Obama’s blackmail. Yes, Obama is blackmailing the Republican Party. He is doing so in the hopes of preventing a replay of the historic 2010 massacre that was also known as the midterm elections that, thanks to the Tea Party, gave the House back to the Republicans. And he is doing so in the hopes of providing long-term destruction to the viability of the country’s two-party system.

Carney stated:

Asking that a political price be paid in order for Congress to do its job to ensure that the United States of America pays its bills and does not default for the first time in its history is deeply irresponsible. It was deeply irresponsible in the summer of 2011 and it would be deeply irresponsible if we were to see that kind of approach taken again. The President absolutely expects Congress to do its job, and one of the jobs that Congress has is to make sure the United States government pays its bills as the greatest economy and the greatest country on earth — we pay our bills.

Not ironically lost on some of us is the timing of Carney’s ludicrous accusation of who is responsible for the country’s devastating circumstance. Carney’s absurdity occurred the same day that Mahmoud Abbas took to the U.N. soapbox and successfully won the Palestinians U.N. “non-member observer state status.” Abbas pursued his destructive path in the hopes of eliminating a two-state plan of Israelis and Palestinians living side-by-side in peace. In the face of Abbas’s breach of the Oslo Accords, the official U.N. tweet that was sent out before backlash led to its disappearance read, “On Day of Solidarity with Palestinians, Ban Ki-moon stresses urgency of reaching 1-state solution.”

Alas, Obama, Carney, et al. seem to be taking advice from the Abbas playbook and apparently seek not to simply sideline the competition, but rather to obliterate the opposition’s role in future negotiations. And the implications in both cases are dire.

Let us begin with Carney’s statement that it is Congress’s job to ensure that the country pay its bills and does not default for the first time in history. Of course, Carney failed to acknowledge that the U.S. credit rating was downgraded under the Obama administration in 2011 for the first time in history. And he failed to recognize that it was Obama’s failure to control the country’s borrowing and spending, pass a budget, and project American confidence, stability, and strength on the world stage that led to the downgrade and resulting higher interest rates on our debt.

Carney also failed to concede the simple point that the reason why the country has exorbitant bills is because the president and the Democrats have a spending problem that no one is controlling. Yes, Obama came into office with an outrageously high debt. But what he and his “irresponsible” cohorts opted to do in those first two years of a government completely in the control of Democratic hands was add trillions upon trillions of debt on top of what already existed. And they are showing absolutely no interest in ending their spending spree.

We can concede that at some point in time, prior to the arrival on the world stage of America’s most famous and spoiled child, it was time to put an end to the government’s use of the credit card, since responsible spending began to marginally exceed reasonable levels. But the “marginally” part ended when Obama sauntered into the White House with his four-million-dollar vacations, chip on his shoulder that makers earn more than takers, disdain for free enterprise, and commitment to transform America into a country of decline.

And while he had the help of a citizenry subject to decades of indoctrination from a similarly arrogant yet resentful academic class, events across the pond have been spelling doom to a blind America. But the blind American has evolved into an irresponsible ignoramus as the electorate willingly chose four more years of this ludicrous spending spree that they knowingly are passing on to their descendants.

Who is responsible for this situation? Certainly not the Republicans, who, while in the Congressional minority since Obama took office (the majority in the House are unable to act without Congress and the president to put an end to this disaster), have attempted to cut spending, avoid the fiscal cliff, adopt policies that would encourage fiscal growth, and pursue prosperous economic paths. Yet it is the Republicans who will be blamed for the impending catastrophe, and if the past election proves anything, they will take it lying down.

While Obama is an incompetent president, he has proven to be a wholly skilled manipulator of the human mind and spirit. Future historians will study this point in American history and struggle to determine how the citizens re-elected the proven ideologue who brainwashed what Pravda labeled an “illiterate” American people. It will take some time to see if Obama successfully destroys the two-party system while he builds an entitlement class that exceeds 50% of the electorate.

MTV to debut ‘Buckwild’ in ‘Jersey Shore’ slot on Jan. 3 — EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

In just a few weeks, it will be time to pack up the beach towels, tanning oils, and tanning oils and say goodbye to Jersey Shore for good. How will you fill your Thursday nights at 10 p.m.? MTV is hoping to hit pay dirt (mud?) several hundred miles southwest of New Jersey with Buckwild, a new reality series about nine young-adult friends in small-town West Virginia who say they are living by the motto, “Whatever happens, happens.” And what seems to be happening is a lot of riding down hills inside giant tires, driving trucks dangerously through mud, tearing up the trails on ATVs and motorcycles, drinking, body licking, fighting with neighbors, and doing Jackass-y stunts that sometimes involve construction equipment. But don’t worry, there’s a heartfelt side to all of this ruckus, as you will see in this two-minute trailer, when one guy gives flowers to a girl he’s sweet on.

For those of you into stuff like this, go HERE.

Wonder when the liberals in the USA will understand that the religion of peace (the followers of some dead guy who raped little girls) does not like gays, lesbians, etc.?

KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysia’s ruling party, at its national conference, continued to attack the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community, much to the anger of human rights activists in the country.

The Umno, in ending its final assembly gathering ahead of elections that must take place before April next year, said that anti-Islamic elements threaten the country, singling out homosexuality and those who promote liberalism in “mainly Muslim Malaysia.”

One delegate called for a rehabilitation center for the LGBT community to “re-educate” them and bring them back to society.

“We want to transform them from zaman kejahilan (dark age of ignorance),” Tanjong representative Mohd Shaharudin Mohd Hasan Tajudin told the over 2,000 delegates at Umno’s cavernous Putra World Trade Center (PWTC).

Shaharudin also suggested that high school students be taught to reject the LGBT lifestyle — along with pluralism and liberalism — in their religious education.

Another delegate, Ariffin Mohd Arif from Kimanis, called for an official sanction against those who spread pluralism and liberalism, which he called a “teaching of the Devil.”

“Just like al-Arqam … we must take action against these people. Our actions must be strict, and we must not budge,” Ariffin said.

When will some Catholic bishop or cardinal get the cojones and excommunicate these so-called catholics?

(CNSNews.com) – House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), who is Catholic, indicated on Friday that she supports forcing St. Mary’s Medical Center, a Catholic hospital in her San Francisco-based congressional district, to provide health plans to its workers that cover sterilizations, contraceptives and abortion-inducing drugs free of charge even though the Catholic faith says the hospital may not to so because these things are intrinsically immoral.

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius, who is also a Catholic, issued the sterilization-contraception-abortifacient mandate as a regulation under the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, AKA Obamacare.

High On A Mountaintop

I heard the man on the radio, said, “My son is gone and what’s to show?”
Defending who knows what for who knows why.
Half a world away they watched for real, they saw the soul of a Navy Seal
“Who gave the order for my son to die?”

Evil men telling evil lies
Just to win a vote you let them die
While that drone would only hover.
Finger pointing. They’re on the run.
Investigations have all begun.
How much more will they uncover?

High on a mountaintop. That’s the only place where I can stop this crying
High on a mountaintop. Closer to God and further from all this lying.
You know it stands to reason, and it’s shaping up like treason, we all know.

He didn’t even have to venture in, but when his brothers, they all needed him,
He was on the spot…not flying to Vegas.
Real leaders lead when they are called,
Never thinking that they’ll drop the ball
But drop to their knees for Him who has made us

9-11, baby, you should have known
Al Queida coming and they’re all alone
But where is the outrage for THIS story?
Laser target, in his sight
60 to one, yea the odds looked right.
You’ll never understand their glory

HOAM. It’s the only place I can go to stop this hurting.
HOAM Justice will come one day, I know for certain.
-I know I cannot runaway, but give us just another single day
-These heroes live forever but a coward dies a thousand times.
-You know it stands to reason but it’s shaping up like treason, we all know.

Half a world away they watched for real, they saw the soul of a Navy Seal
“Who gave the order for my son to die?”

California’s Road to Perdition

By Elise Cooper at American Thinker:

California was once the envy of everyone. But this promised land is now being controlled by a super-majority of leftists, and the liberal, pro-union Democrats have only one answer to California’s woes: to raise taxes. With that in mind, American Thinker asked California representatives if, after the 2012 election, Republicans become an archaic party in this state.

There are many reasons why California Republicans took such a shellacking. Congressman Tom McClintock (R-CA) emphasizes the key word: “communication. The Democrats had monopoly control over the message. Republicans need to pull up their socks and wipe their noses to get back into the game.”

Congressman Brian Bilbray (R-CA) recently lost his re-election bid to what he calls “the political perfect storm.” There was Proposition 30, which will raise income taxes on the wealthiest Californian citizens and temporarily increase the sales tax by a quarter of one percent to supposedly fund schools, colleges, and universities. The congressman argues, “Governor Jerry Brown and the Democrats worked college campuses, getting students to turn out to vote so their tuition would be kept down. Students were recruited and registered, unions turned out in numbers, and Obama, an incumbent president, was on the ballot. This was the largest turnout in history for this state.”

There was also Proposition 32, which would have banned union contributions to state and local candidates. Unions made sure they turned out the vote to kill this initiative, since they did not want to lose the ability to withhold money from worker paychecks for political spending. The unions in California engage in vote-harvesting, where they register people who would not normally have voted on their own and get them to vote, many times by absentee ballots.

What should Republicans do to restore the party to viability? California Assemblyman Tim Donnelly (R), who is thinking of running for governor, sees the need to do an effective job of registering people and getting them to vote. “The Democrats spent $15 million on it and started months before the elections. We should rebuild the party from the precincts up. People have to get to know you in person.”

Congressman Devin Nunes (R-CA) wants Republicans to point out the obvious: if taxes are raised, people will leave the state and take their capital with them. He believes that those who are entrepreneurial, young professionals, and even retirees will leave the state. He relayed how a recently retired friend left California for Idaho, where “he was able to save $15,000 a year between a reduction on sales tax, property tax, and income tax. We are at a tipping point. This is the hollowing out of our economy. The numbers do not add up. The increased taxes will raise a supposed $6 billion, while the shortfall is about $20 billion.”

Donnelly sees dark days ahead for Californians. The state has the highest tax rates; there is talk of tripling the car rates and repealing the Proposition 13 tax cap for commercial property. Donnelly wants Republicans to go into the neighborhoods and ask a lot of questions, such as: with the tax increase, have you voted yourself out of a job? Do you think businesses will stay here, or go to business-friendlier states? As a renter, not a homeowner, don’t you think the landlord tax increases will be passed on to you, causing rents to skyrocket?

Donnelly is hoping that Californians will be awakened and tie the results to the Democratic policies. “After people get sick, and they will, of higher taxes, fewer jobs, and the left’s overreach, they will consider myself and other Republicans as viable, realistic candidates.”

Congressman Bilbray is frustrated with some Republicans. “We can’t eat our own. Don’t destroy those who can win those tough seats. For example, we should not have gone for the most pure candidate in Nevada, the only one whom Harry Reid could have beaten. Being right is not enough. We have to be smart also. It’s about a team effort. Todd [Akin, who ran for the Missouri Senate seat] hurt everyone else. What he said was used as a weapon for the Democrats. The Democrats play us like a fiddle. California Republicans have to find the right candidates that are electable.”

Everyone interviewed agreed that the Democrats in their infinite wisdom of raising business taxes and increasing regulations will cause California’s troubles to get much worse. Congressman Bilbray points out that scientists at UCSD who were creating green jobs, something the Democrats should have loved, “have picked up and left the state for New Mexico. The reason they left is that they had to file for 47 different permits. Regulations are more important than saving jobs. Even Hollywood is not filming here because of the taxes and having to pay unionized workers.”

California Republicans can take a lesson from the national scene. In 2008, the Democrats won a super-majority in both houses of Congress, but because of their overreach and leftist agenda, Americans were awakened, voting in a Republican majority in the House of Representatives in 2010. The Sacramento Democrats think they can tax and regulate the private economy without any consequences except falling off the fiscal cliff. The current good news, although not for Californians, is that the rest of the U.S. will see how the left have ruined this state and turned it into a basket case, and they might take it as a lesson learned.

As for Californians, they will hopefully wake up and realize that there is nothing in the state constitution that says they have to be governed by idiots forever.

collective-history:

Mary Smith earned sixpence a week shooting dried peas at sleeping workers windows.

A Knocker-up (sometimes known as a knocker-upper) was a profession in England and Ireland that started during and lasted well into the Industrial Revolution and at least as late as the 1920s, before alarm clocks were affordable or reliable. A knocker-up’s job was to rouse sleeping people so they could get to work on time.

The knocker-up used a truncheon or short, heavy stick to knock on the clients’ doors or a long and light stick, often made of bamboo, to reach windows on higher floors. Some of them used pea-shooters. In return, the knocker-up would be paid a few pence a week. The knocker-up would not leave a client’s window until sure that the client had been awoken.

There were large numbers of people carrying out the job, especially in larger industrial towns such as Manchester. Generally the job was carried out by elderly men and women but sometimes police constables supplemented their pay by performing the task during early morning patrols.
