Obama White House Accepts Bribes

In my view this is huge news.  The New York Times, in a front-page story on its web site, documents the strong correlation between (i) large gifts to the Obama campaign or Democratic Party and (ii) access to the White House.  The author strongly suggests that the correlation between (i) and (ii) is also causal – that campaign donations are buying access to the White House, maybe even influencing public policies.

I’m usually skeptical when people try to claim such causal relationships from campaign donations. A more innocent explanation is often possible.  That is, for instance, the donors likely have the same political views as the politicians to whom they are giving.  The correlation could be the result of such like-mindedness, not necessarily a quid pro quo.

But this article gives further evidence – evidence that there really are some quid pro quos going on.  Such evidence includes:

* A quote from Patrick Kennedy, the former House member from Rhode Island and the son of Ted Kennedy.  Kennedy “donated $35,800 to an Obama re-election fund last fall while seeking administration support for a nonprofit venture, [and] said contributions were simply a part of ‘how this business works.’”

As the Times article notes, “I know that they [Democratic Party leaders] look at the reports,” [Kennedy] said, referring to records of campaign donations. “They’re my friends anyway, but it won’t hurt when I ask them for a favor if they don’t see me as a slouch.”

Kennedy told the Times reporter, “If you want to call it ‘quid pro quo,’ fine.  At the end of the day, I want to make sure I do my part.”

(Univision News) Addressing the sensitive topic of immigration reform, Obama blamed Republicans for the lack of progress on reform legislation and pledged he would “try” to bring up the issue in the first year of a second term.

“I can promise that I will try to do it in the first year of my second term,” he said. “I want to try this year.

Nothing’s stopping you from sending some legislation over to Congress, Champ. Or getting a Democrat in Congress, particularly the Democrat controlled Senate, from introducing legislation. But, this isn’t the first time he’s whined about the issue in virtually the same way, and he forgot that Republicans recently brought up immigration reform. He continues, via The Hill

The challenge we’ve got on immigration reform is very simple. I’ve got a majority of Democrats who are prepared to vote for it, and I’ve got no Republicans who are prepared to vote for it. …

“So what we need is a change either of Congress or we need Republicans to change their mind, and I think this has to be an important debate during – throughout the country. …

“And so I’m just going to keep on pushing as hard as I can, and what I’m going to be encouraging is the Latino community continue to ask every member of Congress where they stand on these issues, but the one thing that I think everybody needs to understand is that this is something I care deeply about. It’s personal to me, and I will do everything that I can to try to get it done. But ultimately I’m going to need Congress to help me.”

Oh the hollywood liberals who owe hundreds of millions to the IRS.

California tax authorities revealed the state’s 500 biggest income tax delinquents Friday, and a surprising number of celebrities made the list.

Pamela Anderson, the “Baywatch” star, reportedly owes $524,241 in unpaid taxes, and Lionel Richie owes $1.1 million.

CNET co-founder Halsey Minor and his wife owe $10.5 million, while the founder of “Girls Gone Wild” Joe Francis owes $794,000.

Similarly, actor Nick Cassavetes and boxer James Toney seemingly owe $273,000 and $354,000, respectively.

The 500 delinquents owe nearly $233 million collectively, according to the IRS, prompting the California tax board to scold: “When taxpayers do not pay their fair share, it places an unfair burden on those who do.”

CNBC’s Rick Santelli, who sounded the trumpet blast that started the Tea Party movement, uses math and actual numbers to explain why taxing the rich will not generate sufficient income to offset the current U.S. government deficit.

You didn’t hear about this is the media, but on the weekend of March 24th and March 25th at least seven white people were brutally beaten by mobs of blacks in Grand Rapids, MI. Five of the victims filed police reports. At least two other victims exist, and there are probably others. The local media has refused to report the cruel attacks and the authorities are resisting any serious charges.

I talked with one of the victims, 37 year old Jacob Palasek. He is a full time student and does computer work part time. He was attacked by a wolf pack of thugs on the corner of Sixth Street and Broadway in Grand Rapids, Michigan just after midnight on March 25th. The location is a mix of stores, offices, and residential neighborhoods. Jacob lives near where he was attacked.

As he was walking to his apartment, he saw three black males loitering. One was on a bicycle. The suspect on the bicycle rode up beside him. Suddenly the thug smashed him in the side of the head with a chain. He was hit two or three more times in the head with the chain before he broke loose and ran to the nearest home. He knocked on the door, hoping the owner would call the police.

All three of the black males then attacked him on the porch. They yelled “this is what you deserve you white piece of shit.” Jacob was hit in the head with the large chain more times. Jacob broke free again and hid behind a dumpster. The attackers initially chased him, but broke their pursuit and walked away. There were some cars driving by and the thugs may have thought a driver was calling 911.

All seven known victims were attacked within about six blocks of where Jacob was attacked. The victims were in their 30s, 40s, and 50s. Some of the victims were attacked during the day in broad daylight.

Jacob believes he could have died if he was hit with the chain more times. He still has bad headaches and has not been able to work since the attack. Jacob doesn’t have insurance and can’t afford the correct medical treatment. His landlord is now threatening to evict him from his apartment. Since he was not able to work, he has missed a rent payment. A victim’s relief fund is planning to give him a small amount of money. However, police did not even tell him the fund existed so he applied very late. He is still waiting on the help.

The police listed aggravated assault with a weapon and ethnic intimidation, Michigan’s state hate crimes law, on the police report. Jacob identified two of the perpetrators. However, police have told Jacob that the thugs will get off easy because they are only 17. Police told him that the thugs will not serve time in prison for the brutal hate crimes.

Police said that the suspects will not be tried as adults. They will only face juvenile boot camp instead of prison. A detective told Jacob that they believe all the attacks were racially motivated. The detective also told Jacob that he believed the Trayvon Martin media frenzy is what prompted the attacks. Jacob also believed that the thugs were seeking revenge for Trayvon Martin before the detective confirmed this belief.

To add insult to injury, not a single media outlet in all of Grand Rapids reported the brutal hate crimes. Jacob has contacted the local paper and his local news affiliates repeatedly. None will report the story. He has also contacted numerous politicians, none of whom has helped.
