This is an update to my thread yesterday entitled Obama’s Latest Assault on American Institutions; The Family Farm. It appears that the Daily Caller article that I quoted went viral and the outcry was huge enough to force the Regime to back down,
Under pressure from farming advocates in rural communities, and following a report by The Daily Caller, the Obama administration withdrew a proposed rule Thursday that would have applied child labor laws to family farms.
Critics complained that the regulation would have drastically changed the extent to which children could work on farms owned by family members. The U.S. Department of Labor cited public outcry as the reason for withdrawing the rule.
Make your own jokes about this:
ABC News has, thus far, ignored its own revelation that, contrary to insinuations made by Barack Obama, the then-private citizen and his wife “were making enough to be considered ‘wealthy’ by the president’s own definition in the years before his loans were paid off.” ABC relegated this story to a posting on its website, not mentioning it on Wednesday’s World News orNightline.
The story was similarly skipped on Thursday’s Good Morning America. World News did touch on student loans, but only to accuse Mitt Romney of flip-flipping on the issue. David Muir dug up a clip of the Republican telling a college student to shop around and not expect the government to bail him out.
On Tuesday, President Obama said this: “We only finished paying off our student loans off about eight years ago…That wasn’t that long ago. And that wasn’t easy – especially because when we had Malia and Sasha, we’re supposed to be saving up for their college educations, and we’re still paying off our college educations.”
Yet, as Jon Karl explained on ABCNews.com, Obama was sometimes making over $250,000 ($272,759 in 2002). He reported:
But according to their tax returns, which are available on the White House website, the Obamas had a healthy, six-figure income by the year 2000 (the earliest return available). And for at least two years before his loans were paid off, Obama, by his own definition, made so much they were wealthy enough to pay higher taxes.
TSA also into porn:
An agent with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) has been suspended from his job after he was arrested for allegedly having and sharing images of child pornography.
NECN reports that Jose Salgado, a TSA screener at Logan airport in Boston, was collared as part of a massive child pornography crackdown in Massachusetts.
“These people are your neighbors,” Marian McGovern, Massachusetts state police colonel, said at a press conference. “These people look just like everyone else, and they’re doing these things under the cover of their own homes.”
Salgado was one of 55 people nabbed and accused of various child pornography-related charges, according to the Boston Herald.
“This is just a drop in the bucket,” state police Sgt. Michael Hill of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force told the Herald.
News of Salgado’s arrest comes just one month after ABC News reported that a former TSA agent in Maryland was indicted on federal child pornography charges.

France’s decay serves as a warning to America. For centuries, Paris was the cradle of Western civilization. The French, however, have hit hard times. Their country is dying, and most French citizens don’t seem to care. This threatens to be our fate as well.
France’s first-round presidential elections were held on Sunday. The Socialist Party’s candidate, Francois Hollande, slightly edged out President Nicolas Sarkozy, 27.9 percent to 26.7 percent. The two will head into a runoff on May 6. Mr. Hollande is widely expected to win, granting the Socialists almost complete control of the French political system.
Mr. Sarkozy’s defeat should come as no surprise. The French conservative committed the cardinal sin in politics: He overpromised and underdelivered. In 2007, Mr. Sarkozy ran on a winning platform of economic reform, law and order and restoring France’s national identity. He has failed on every count. The French economy is stagnant, weighed down by a bloated welfare state. High taxes and runaway spending have led to economic sclerosis, severe unemployment and soaring deficits. France’s debt-to-gross-domestic-product (GDP) ratio is at 90 percent – the tipping point at which it is almost impossible for a nation to avoid bankruptcy.
Moreover, under Mr. Sarkozy, France has accelerated its integration into the European Union even though most voters reject it. French national sovereignty is being submerged under the Brussels-Berlin behemoth. France is no longer a serious power on the world stage; its geopolitical capital has been depleted through decades of military cuts and heavy welfare spending. It is a second-rate nation consumed with delusions of grandeur.

Colombia’s top diplomat demands apology from President Obama for Secret Service hooker scandal
“It is necessary, and I want to hear it from the White House,’ says Gabriel Silva
He puts the ass in ambassador.
Colombia’s angry top diplomat to America wants President Obama to publicly declare that he’s really, really, really sorry for the carnal carnage inflicted on the fine citizens of Cartagena by the Secret Service.
“The U.S. should apologize further,” Gabriel Silva told the Colombian newspaper El Tiempo about the sordid sex scandal that involved a dozen agents and another dozen military personnel.
“It is necessary, and I want to hear it from the White House,” Silva said in his tough talk to a scribe back home.
“A more clear expression of remorse is required to protect the reputation of Cartagena” — though Silva made no mention that scantily clad hookers legally roam the streets of his fair city.

This is a MUST WATCH. Rep. Trey Gowdy (R-SC) completely destroys Kathleen Sebelius’ claim of ‘balance’ over her HHS abortifacient mandate, exposing the fact that she completely ignored seeking any legal basis for her mandate, whether it be directly constitutional or based on Supreme Court precedent. She claims to have relied on discussions from her lawyers on the mandate’s constitutional basis, however she says there are no legal memos to back up that claim, which means it never happened.

Interesting to see how the Obama regime spins this bad news into good news. Or will they use this to scare donors into giving them more money?
(CNBC) — U.S. economic growth cooled in the first quarter as businesses cut back on investment and restocked shelves at a moderate pace, but stronger demand for automobiles softened the blow.
Gross domestic product expanded at a 2.2 percent annual rate, the Commerce Department said on Friday in its advance estimate, moderating from the fourth quarter’s 3 percent rate.
While that was below economists’ expectations for a 2.5 percent pace, a surge in consumer spending took some of the sting from the report. However, growth was still stronger than analysts’ predictions early in the quarter for an expansion below 1.5 percent.
Although the details were mixed, the GDP report offered a somewhat better picture of growth compared with the fourth quarter, when inventory building accounted for nearly two thirds of the economy’s growth. In the first quarter, demand from consumers took up the slack.
Consumer spending which accounts for about 70 percent of U.S. economic activity, increased at a 2.9 percent rate – the fastest pace since the fourth quarter of 2010. That compared to a 2.1 percent rise in the fourth quarter.
House seeks to pass contempt of Congress citation against Eric Holder…
LA TIMES – Republican House leaders have drafted a proposed contempt of Congress citation against Atty. Gen. Eric H. Holder Jr. in which they charge that he and his Justice Department have repeatedly “obstructed and slowed” the Capitol Hill investigation into the ATF’s flawed Fast and Furious gun-tracking operation.
The 48-page draft citation is being drawn up by Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Vista), chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform. Top committee officials recently met for most of a day in the House speaker’s office and were given the green light to proceed toward a contempt citation, according to sources who declined to be identified.
If adopted by the GOP-led House, the contempt resolution would be sent to the U.S. attorney’s office in Washington or perhaps an independent counsel in an attempt to force the Justice Department to provide tens of thousands of internal documents to the committee.
