Our Dictator in Chief explains new immigration plan
In a speech this afternoon in the Rose Garden, President Barack Obama explained his administration’s decision to allow as many as 800,000 young illegal immigrants to apply for temporary legal status and work permits.
Neil Munroe, a reporter from the Daily Caller, interrupted the president twice, asking him to defend his statement that the move is the “right thing” for the country. Obama talked over the reporter but later in the speech addressed him, again asserting that the immigration decision is the right one. Munroe again interrupted Obama. “I didn’t ask for an argument,” the president said sharply, ending the unusual exchange.

Stuntman prepares for historic Niagara Falls tightrope attempt
A little after 10pm on Friday Nick Wallenda, a 33-year-old Florida-born stuntman, will say a quiet prayer before stepping foot onto a two-inch thick rope and attempt to become the first man in 100 years to cross Niagara Falls on a tightrope.
But while the trip across the falls, from USA to Canada, is about 1,800 feet and will take 45 minutes, the journey to get there has taken much longer and risks being overshadowed by a health and safety row.
He spent two years wrangling with the US and Canadian authorities who initially refused to allow the stunt to take place. And he has spent nearly 30 years dreaming about the possibility – since a trip to the famous falls when he was just six years old.

The Obama administration has confessed to allowing President Obama’s colossal ego to create a fiasco. Well, not directly, but that is the only logical explanation for some very quiet changes just implemented. It seems that the insertion of president Obama into the biographies of previous presidents o n the White House website has been reversed. Scott Shackford of Reason advises us:
It appears as though the White House has decided that maybe the official biographies of other presidents are not the best place to campaign for President Barack Obama’s reelection. (snip)
as quietly as the Obama boasts appeared, they have been removed. The bullet points are now gone from all the biographies on the White House’s website. But that’s okay; there appear to be plenty of other tone-deaf campaigns coming out of the Obama administration, like asking us to praise our king wish Daddy Obama a happy Father’s Day.

(Telegraph) — Syrian rebels have held meetings with senior US government officials in Washington as pressure mounts on the US to authorise a shipment of heavy weapons, including surface-to-air missiles to combat the Assad regime, the Daily Telegraph has learned.
A senior Free Syrian Army representative met in the past week at the US State Department with the US ambassador to Syria, Robert Ford and Frederick Hoff, special coordinator for the Middle East, sources have confirmed.
The rebel emissaries, armed with an iPad showing detailed plans on Google Earth identifying rebel positions and regime targets, have also met with senior members of the National Security Council, which advises President Obama on national security policy.
FSA representatives in Washington have compiled a “targeted list” of heavy weaponry, including anti-tank missiles and heavy machine guns that they plan to present to US government officials in the coming two weeks.
The consultations come ahead of next week’s G20 meeting in Los Cabos, Mexico where British and US officials are expected to make a last-ditch attempt to get the Russian President Vladimir Putin to intervene in the Syria crisis.
Privately, western diplomats admit they now harbour scant hopes of forcing a change of heart on Russia, which has steadfastly refused to bow to US and British pressure to do more to arrest Syria’s slide into sectarian civil war.

Washington, DC, June 14, 2012: Five influential Members of Congress called yesterday for the inspectors general (IGs) of government departments with national security responsibilities to investigate whether their agencies are being subjected to influence operations mounted as part of what the Muslim Brotherhood calls its “civilization jihad.” This initiative holds out hope that a grave, and largely unremarked, threat may thus be recognized and thwarted in time.
The authors of letters sent to the IGs for the Departments of State, Justice, Defense and Homeland Security and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence are:
- Rep. Michele Bachman, a member of the House Intelligence Committee and Chairwoman of the House Tea Party Caucus
- Rep. Trent Franks, Chairman of the House Judiciary’s Subcommittee on the Constitution a member of the House Armed Services Committee
- Rep. Louie Gohmert, Vice Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security
- Rep. Tom Rooney, Deputy Majority Whip and member of the House Armed Services Committee
- Rep. Lynn Westmoreland, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee’s Oversight Subcommittee; and
In a joint press statement, each of these congressional leaders expressed profound concern about the dangers posed by the Muslim Brotherhood and the need to understand that threat here in the United States. What is more, they cited in their letters evidence of the penetration of Brotherhood operatives and allies inside the Obama administration, and examples of policies that appear to have been influenced as a result.

An official at a State Department-sponsored school in Jordan defended her right to post an anti-Semitic rant in the comments section of a website that aims to combat anti-Semitism, a move that has stoked concerns about the school’s curriculum.
Dima Subeih serves as an administrative assistant at the American Community School in Amman, Jordan. The school, which offers an “American educational program” in the heart of the Middle East, is partially funded by State Department grants and supervised by the U.S. diplomatic mission in Jordan.
Subeih’s anti-Semitic comments were posted on the pro-Israel website CiF Watch under her official school email address. Responding to an article about the cancellation of a Tel Aviv performance by a symphony orchestra that exclusively plays music written by Richard Wagner—an anti-Semite whose work was appropriated by the Nazi regime—Subeih said that Israelis are whiny murderers. “So let me get this straight, while Israel continues to brutally kill innocent Palestinian children and mothers every single day and perform all acts of brutality forming Palestinian genocide. However, they still whine and play victims,” she wrote. “They are doing to Palestinian what has been done to them by Hitler.”
Subeih, who apparently plays a role in selecting the American Community School’s student body, goes on to say that she cannot “coexist” with Israelis, who she dubs “worse than Hitler.”
