Finally, we find one area where Obama is pro-business: Merle Hoffman’s abortion clinics. Even if you’re pro-abortion, the cheapness of human life underlying the words of this woman are truly creepy:
Daily Caller – The founder and owner of one of the first and largest abortion clinics in the United States, Merle Hoffman, held a press conference Tuesday to discuss her study that found abortions in the United States are on the rise.
According to Hoffman, as the economy continues to decline, abortions continue to rise. Her study found that 73 percent of women who had an abortion reported that the reason was due to their economic situation. Hoffman told TheDC that there will be “free states” and “slave states” if President Obama loses the 2012 election to any of the current Republican presidential candidates.
The New York Times published an Op-ed Saturday (Jan. 14) which once again demonstrates what many of us have long known about certain New York liberals: They actually are bigots and racists – against Whites, especially if those whites are too Christian and too patriotic.
Lee Siegel, author of the opinion piece and member of the New York liberal clique, denounced Mitt Romney as being too white, “the whitest of the white candidates.” Too many in Siegel’s crowd negatively judge everyone by race if that race is white.
The only way to expiate the “sin” of being white is if one endorses a liberalism that denounces things too white and too Christian, too American, and promotes a political correctness that demands the majority forfeit its needs and rights, just for a few decades, in favor of whatever group happens to be the preferred minority of the day.
Siegel’s prejudice squares with the now famous remark made in those circles when viewing a picture of the Romney family: “Looking at those gorgeous wives and kids, all that wholesomeness stuff, makes me want to vomit.”
Yes, jealousy and envy often do evoke self-sickness. Upper West Side liberals have been able to take the spotlight off their own prejudice by successfully labeling the average American a bigot. While most Americans, since the 60s, were undergoing introspection in that area, Manhattan’s liberals were free to continue mired in their own bigotry against the majority and self-righteously absolve themselves of their own need for some honest introspection.

It’s Obama’s disdain for the country and its values that bothers us, his socialism, his indifference and arrogance, his making us vulnerable and weak to foreign threats.
Obama’s romantic affinity to political Islam is beginning to make us worried. We dislike him because he seems to dislike us.
But Siegel, raised as were so many in his circle, can’t believe that we Americans are motivated by anything other than race, not even by hopes for our children’s future.
We have successfully defended Mary Susan Pine. A federal judge has ended Attorney General Eric Holder’s two-year political prosecution of this pro-life educator. Holder accused Pine of obstructing the entrance to an abortion clinic, in violation of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act (“FACE”).
In granting summary judgment, Judge Kenneth L. Ryskamp concluded that the government lacked evidence to prove not just one, but “all three elements of its FACE claim.” Judge Ryskamp chastised Holder for seeking to apply federal law in a clearly unconstitutional manner: “Stretching the terms of FACE to apply to this case … would unjustifiably impinge on Ms. Pine’s First Amendment rights.”
The Government’s decision to prosecute Pine despite having no evidence of wrongdoing prompted Judge Ryskamp to suspect a conspiracy at the highest level of the Obama Administration: “The Court is at a loss as to why the Government chose to prosecute this particular case in the first place,” he wrote. “The Court can only wonder whether this action was the product of a concerted effort between the Government and the PWC [Presidential Women’s Center], which began well before the date of the incident at issue, to quell Ms. Pine’s activities rather than to vindicate the rights of those allegedly aggrieved by Ms. Pine’s conduct.”
This is a tremendous victory not just for Susan Pine, but for the First Amendment and the pro-life movement. Attorney General Holder sought to use federal law as a billy club against pro-lifers, but received instead a clobbering from the very Constitution he had sworn to protect.
Freedom-loving Americans everywhere should rejoice.
One of the contractors responsible for building Bank of America stadium in Charlotte, N.C. is ‘praising’ President Obama and the Democratic Party for holding a convention event there, calling the stadium an ‘outstanding example’ of the free enterprise system.
Brett McMahon, president of the concrete construction firm Miller & Long DC and the spokesman for the anti-labor, pro-business group Halt the Assault, notes that the stadium where President Obama will formally accept the nomination was built by non-unionized workers.
“It is a great example of a grand monument that was built entirely union-free. Furthermore, unlike many sports facilities, there was very, very little public expenditure for the Panthers Stadium. It stands as an outstanding example of the free enterprise system at work. We are certain that the DNC will hold successful events there for their donors and delegates,” McMahon said in a statement.

(Reuters) — The Treasury on Tuesday started dipping into federal pension funds in order to give the Obama administration more credit to pay government bills.
“I will be unable to invest fully” the federal employees retirement system fund beginning Tuesday, Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner said in a letter to Democratic and Republican leaders in Congress.
The House of Representatives is expected to vote on Wednesday on the Obama administration’s request to raise the country’s legal debt limit to $16.394 trillion.
However, unless the lower chamber and the Senate are able to shore up enough votes to block the White House request, the debt limit will be increased by $1.2 trillion next Friday and a repeat of last year’s debt ceiling debacle will be averted.

. . . For dinner, the President and Mrs. Obama both enjoyed American Wagyu Top Cap, which is served in a 10 0z portion ($81). Executive Chef Victor Albisu personally did the cooking, which earned him a hug and warm thanks from the First Lady at the end of the evening. Side dishes were family style for the table, and included French Fries, Mashed Potatoes, Caramelized Brussel Sprouts with Bacon, Creamed Spinach, and Hen of the Woods Mushrooms. Appetizers ordered for the table to share were also steak: The American Wagyu Skirt Steak (10 0z, $55) and 28-Day Dry Aged New York Strip (16 0z, $46). House-made sauces are served with the steaks, and include Horseradish, Peppercorn, 3 Mustards, and “Steak” sauce.
The house signature bread is a huge, fluffy Popover, served piping hot to guests after ordering, accompanied by a salt shaker the size of a pint of milk. The Obama party enjoyed red and white wine with their dinner, Wright said. He was joined by two other managers who performed the duties of servers.
The birthday cake was Red Velvet, which is not on the BLT menu but served because it is “a favorite” of the First Lady’s, Wright said. There was no inscription on top, thanks to a crumb topping, and the cake was accompanied by Cream Cheese Ice Cream. Mrs. Obama closed her eyes and made a wish before blowing out the candles to cheers from her guests.
