Secret Service DoD Sexual Entrapment by CU/VZ

Odd that Cuba and/or Venezuela have not openly been accused of orchestrating the Secret Service/DOD Cartagena sexual honey pot — an entrapment long employed by spy services against the US and its allies, as well as by the US and its allies. Neither CU nor VZ took part in the Cartagena conference where the US failed to get approval for continued Cuba sanctions considered by Latin Americans to be US-Monroe Doctrine abusive.

Senator Collins has raised the possibility of a trap but will likely be briefed into silence. Neither Democrats or Republicans want to open this top secret Pandora’s Box (excuse the pun).

The Open Government Partnership conference in Brasilia which followed Cartagena also camouflaged with triple-crossing “openness” the legacy of Monroe Doctrine covert operations in Latin America to enforce hemispheric hegemony with stealth and bribery.

The chances are high that the sexual entrapment was a CU/VZ counterspy operation against the nest of spies operating in Cartagena, and that White House and Congressional investigations will perfectly cloak the dust-up as it has since President Monroe ordered the standard deception in 1823.

Did Humans Invent Music?

Did Neanderthals sing? Is there a “music gene”? Two scientists debate whether our capacity to make and enjoy songs comes from biological evolution or from the advent of civilization.

Music is everywhere, but it remains an evolutionary enigma. In recent years, archaeologists have dug up prehistoric instruments, neuroscientists have uncovered brain areas that are involved in improvisation, and geneticists have identified genes that might help in the learning of music. Yet basic questions persist: Is music a deep biological adaptation in its own right, or is it a cultural invention based mostly on our other capacities for language, learning, and emotion? And if music is an adaptation, did it really evolve to promote mating success as Darwin thought, or other for benefits such as group cooperation or mother-infant bonding?

Just think, big brother government can easily dictate what we do in our own homes! This is just an example….

Mayor Michael Bloomberg said he has no plans to impose a smoking ban on the city’s residential buildings, but he strongly defended a new proposal to require the buildings to adopt smoking policies and disclose those rules to prospective tenants and owners.

“None!” the mayor replied when asked at a press conference if he plans to propose an outright ban on smoking at citywide apartment buildings. “You can ask the question 10 ways — the answer is no.”

“We’re not trying to ban anything,” he added. “I’ve always believed, as you know, that if you want to smoke I think you should have a right to do so. But it kills you.”

As The Wall Street Journal reported Wednesday, Bloomberg is proposing new legislation that would require residential buildings to develop written policies that address whether smoking is permitted in both indoor and outdoor locations, including lobbies, balconies, courtyards, laundry rooms and, most controversially, individual apartments. The goal is to alert prospective tenants and owners considering moving into a building about the rules governing smoking.

The legislation, which is to be introduced Wednesday at the City Council, specifically doesn’t dictate whether buildings should allow or disallow smoking. While city officials concede the legislation could increase the number of smoke-free apartment buildings in the city, the mayor and others in his administration insist they have no intention, as critics fear, of mandating all apartment buildings be smoke-free.

Shortly after Isa Leshko spent a year caring for her mother as she suffered from Alzheimer’s, she encountered a blind elderly horse living on a relative’s property. Leshko spent the afternoon photographing him, and realized that she had found a project that would help her deal with her mother’s illness. She began to visit sanctuaries across the U.S. to photograph animals that were elderly or at the end stages of their lives.

“I am creating these photographs to gain a deeper understanding about what it means to be mortal and to exorcise my fears of aging. … I also want my images to inspire greater empathy toward animals, particularly farm animals. It is rare to see a farm animal that has actually lived its natural life span given that most of these animals experience brutality and death early in their lives. … I want to challenge people’s assumptions about these animals and inspire reforms to the treatment of farm animals.”

The photos can be seen here — and don’t miss the video.

Killing in war linked with suicidal thoughts among Vietnam veterans

The experience of killing in war was strongly associated with thoughts of suicide, in a study of Vietnam-era veterans led by researchers at the San Francisco VA Medical Center (SFVAMC) and the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF).

The scientists found that veterans with more experiences involving killing were twice as likely to have reported suicidal thoughts as veterans who had fewer or no experiences.

To evaluate the experience of killing, the authors created four variables – killing enemy combatants, killing prisoners, killing civilians in general and killing or injuring women, children or the elderly. For each veteran, they combined those variables into a single composite measure. The higher the composite score, the greater the likelihood that a veteran had thought about suicide.

The relationship between killing and suicidal thoughts held even after the scientists adjusted for variables including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, substance use disorders and exposure to combat.

The study, which was published electronically on April 13 in the journal Depression and Anxiety, was based on an analysis of data from the National Vietnam Veterans Readjustment Survey, a comprehensive study of a nationally representative sample of Vietnam-era veterans.

Got to love some of our elected republican members of congress.

Washington, D.C. — Senator James Inhofe (R-Okla.), Ranking Member of the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works, congratulated President Obama today on his endorsements from the Sierra Club, the League of Conservation Voters, Clean Water Action, and Environment America, which were announced this morning.

“I would like to congratulate President Obama on securing the endorsement of the radical environmental left, a prize that is well deserved and hard won,” Senator Inhofe said. “Looking back on his record, President Obama has many major accomplishments to tout. By imposing backdoor global warming cap-and-trade regulations through the EPA, he is fulfilling his campaign promise that energy prices would ‘necessarily skyrocket’; by vetoing the Keystone pipeline, he gave the far left what one of his supporters called the biggest global warming victory in years; by finalizing the most expensive EPA rule in history, he is making good on his campaign promise that if anybody wants to build a coal fired power plant they can — ‘it’s just that it will bankrupt them’; and he succeeded in throwing hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars out the window on companies like Solyndra, which he said would lead us to a ‘brighter and more prosperous future.’

“But now that Americans are reeling from the skyrocketing gas and electricity prices that President Obama promised; angry that he stopped the Keystone pipeline and the tens of thousands of jobs it would have created; and outraged over the taxpayer dollars that were wasted on companies like Solyndra, President Obama doesn’t seem to be interested in touting these major accomplishments. Instead of standing in front of solar panels in California and defending his record, he ran all the way to Cushing, Oklahoma to stand in the middle of an oil field in an effort to convince the American people he’s for an all-of-the-above approach.

“It’s not likely that President Obama will be touting this endorsement; he will be running as far away from Big Green as he did from Solyndra while he’s looking for votes. Yet, he’s accomplished so many of his major goals. It’s time for him to stand up and be proud of his record — and be honest with the American people about what’s in store if he secures another term.”

UK secret files show how US built Diego Garcia base

LONDON: The extent to which the British government duped its parliament and public in the 1960s and early 70s to facilitate a United States military base in the Indian Ocean island of Diego Garcia was revealed on Wednesday in a belated release of files from the archives. Most such papers are made public after a maximum of 30 years.

The US military presence in the Indian Ocean caused considerable concern to India during the Cold War, when Washington was unmistakably inimical to India and tilting in favour of Pakistan, which was obviously even more hostile. Indeed, the Indian government for many years opposed American armed forces being stationed at Diego Garcia.

In a memorandum marked ‘Secret and Guard’ and dated September 1966, a British foreign office official noted the object of acquiring and controlling the island was to build “defence facilities… without hindrance and political agitation”.

The foreign office, in fact, advised its representatives at the United Nations to describe the islanders as “contract laborers” hired to work in coconut plantations. “The merit of this line is that it does not give away the existence of the indigenous islanders, but is at the same time strictly factual,” the memo argued.

“You know, you go without a couple of meals. We can miss a couple meals.” What does this person eat at a couple of meals for $1,000?

(CBS Detroit) — Bomb sniffing dogs could be seen around Greenfield Village in Dearborn as officials prepared for President Barack Obama’s visit on Wednesday.

Supporters lined up bright and early to get in the door at The Henry Ford, including Lonnie Peek, who handed over $1,000 to stand in a rope line and shake the President’s hand.

Peek said paying that price will mean a bit of a sacrifice, but it’s worth it.

“A thousand dollars is a lot of money. But other folks are kickin’ in for their candidates, so what you do is you bite the bullet,” Peek said. “You wanna have your conscience good, to feel that this is what I did.

“You know, you go without a couple of meals. We can miss a couple meals,” he said.

Fueling the cause of jihad? Islam has been at war with Christianity since Mohammed’s armies swept out of Arabia in the seventh century.

(MSNBC) — A recent decision by the Marine Corps to reinstate “Crusaders” as the name of its Fighter Attack Squadron 122 — replacing “Werewolves” — and adopting the red cross of the medieval Knights Templar was blasted as unconstitutional and willfully ignorant by a civil rights group Wednesday.

“I don’t know that the Marine Corps could do anything more to fuel the cause of jihad,” said Mikey Weinstein, founder of the Military Religious Freedom Foundation, a nonprofit organization that advocates church-state separation. “It will directly end up taking lives and maiming members of our military.”

VMFA-122 based out of Beaufort, S.C., used the Crusaders symbol from 1958 up to 2008, when Lt. Col. William Lieblein pointed out that imagery invoking the Christian conquest and colonization of Muslims during the Middle Ages was counterproductive to U.S. soldiers based across the Arab and Islamic world.

“The notion of being a crusader in that part of the world doesn’t float,” he said, ordering the change to “Werewolves,” as reported by the Beaufort Gazette at the time.

“They’re being told, ‘the enemy gets to have Allah in their fight. We need to get our Lord and Savior back into our fight’,” said Weinstein.”

Just really boggles the mind that this president thinks it is only about government spending! He is so out of touch with history and the present!

ELYRIA, Ohio (AP) — President Barack Obama is accusing his Republican rivals of trying to revive trickle-down economics instead of spending money on priorities to help the middle class.

Obama said those Republicans “don’t seem to remember how America was built.”

In politically pivotal Ohio, Obama spoke up for job training programs at Lorain County Community College.

Pounding home the theme of his re-election race against Mitt Romney, Obama said he wants to ensure tax fairness for all while Republicans want to “shower the wealthiest Americans” with tax cuts they don’t need.

Obama said the public doesn’t like to see tax dollars wasted, but does want to see money spent in areas that help the country thrive. He said people see a common purpose in “the larger project we call America.”

MSNBC, you have competition!

(Deccan Chronicle) — The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will soon launch a satellite television channel to be named as “OIC” to counter Islamophobia, the prejudice against and hatred or irrational fear of Islam or Muslims.

Though the term dates back to the late 1980s or early 1990s, it came into common usage mainly in the West after the 9/11 terror strikes in the United States. The 57-member group of Islamic nations is also planning to establish an “OIC Muslim Journalists Union”.

These issues with preparing special information programme on Africa “to project and promote its place and role in the Muslim world” and the progress made pertaining to the establishment of the OIC Broadcasting Regulatory Authorities Union came up for threadbare discussions at the senior officials’ meeting ahead of the ninth session of the Islamic conference of information ministers scheduled to begin in Libreville, the capital of west central African country of Gabon, on Thursday.

The freaking emperor asshole bragging about bypassing congress (yet again).

Washington Examiner:

President Obama tried rally environmentalists and working-class supporters today, by bragging about his refusal to wait for Congress to implement new fuel efficiency standards.

“Change is the decision we made to stop waiting for Congress to do something about our oil addiction and finally raise fuel-efficiency standards on cars,” Obama said during a fundraiser in Detroit. “By the middle of the next decade, we will be driving American-made cars, better than ever, that get 55 miles to a gallon. That saves the typical family over $8,000 at the pump, helps the environment.”

Obama failed to mention that the average price of a vehicle will likely increase by $3,200, driving lower-income buyers out of the market, as The Washington Examiner’s Conn Carroll explains. Meanwhile as the standards create what The Washington Examiner editors call a de facto “individual mandate to buy Chevy Volts.”

Interesting that so many democrats are going against their boss!

(E2 Wire) — Defying a White House veto threat, the House on Wednesday passed legislation that extends transportation program funding through September and mandates construction of a controversial oil pipeline from Canada to the Gulf Coast.

All but 14 Republicans, with support from 69 Democrats, voted 293-127 for legislation that falls far short of Speaker John Boehner’s (R-Ohio) earlier plan to move a sweeping five-year, $260 billion package.

But Boehner’s retreat serves two crucial tactical and political purposes for the Speaker. It sets up talks with the Senate on the highway bill and keeps the Keystone pipeline — a centerpiece of GOP attacks on White House energy policy — front and center ahead of the November election.

Republican leaders hailed the bipartisan vote  as a rebuke of President Obama.  Two senior Democrat leaders, Reps. James Clyburn (S.C.) and John Larson (Conn.), approved the measure.

“The House is on record again in support of the Keystone XL energy pipeline — a project President Obama blocked, personally lobbied against, then tried to take credit for, and now says he’ll veto,” Boehner said in a statement. “There’s no telling where the president stands from one day to the next on Keystone, but he knows the pipeline has broad and bipartisan support in Congress and among the American people.”

This is how damn sick (gross, shitty, any other words you can come up with) planned parenthood is.

LifeNews:

Pro-life advocates have long complained that Planned Parenthood, the country’s largest abortion provider, worships at the altar of abortion, but did you know that the abortion industry actually prays for abortion?

Perversely reminiscent of 40 day pro-life prayer vigils, Planned Parenthood is promoting it’s own “40 days of prayer,” March 18th through April 27th, for abortion. This is not their usually disguised promotion of abortion as “preventative care,” “family planning,” or “contraceptive services.” No, they throw those typical euphemisms out and directly pray for abortion.

A prayer guide found on PlannedParenthood.org, 40 Days of Prayer Supporting Women Everywhere, encourages pro-abortion supporters to offer prayers of “thanks for abortion providers” and the “sacred care” they provide.

Each day, Planned Parenthood suggests a prayer, for example:

  • “We give thanks for the doctors who provide quality abortion care.”
  • We pray for a cloud of gentleness to surround every abortion facility.”
  • We pray for all the staff at abortion clinics around the nation. May they be daily confirmed in the sacred care that they offer women.”

Some of the prayers, like those above, are for the abortionists. Others are for all “women to access . . . abortion,” and one is to “give thanks and celebrate that abortion is still safe and legal.” [...]

Of course, none of this should be surprising when you take a look at the group who penned these prayers, Faith Aloud. Among Faith Aloud’s board members is the infamous partial-birth abortion doctor LeRoy Carhart.
