I heard that the vaunted ‘hands-off President’ — Obama himself — came off the links long enough to make a decision. No more leading from behind for Barack, not when it comes to mandating that Catholics, Orthodox Jews and other religious groups provide abortion pills for free… whether they like it or not!
According to The New York Times (no link, Google it if you need to):
In the end, it was Mr. Obama himself who made the decision, aides say, calculating that at the end of the day, the issue of public health access outweighed the concerns of the religious institutions.
If, as some contend, that Obama truly is a narcissist, it may be difficult for the president to reverse course.
Narcissistic personality disorder symptoms may include:
• Believing that you’re better than others
• Fantasizing about power, success and attractiveness
• Exaggerating your achievements or talents
• Expecting constant praise and admiration
• Believing that you’re special and acting accordingly
• Failing to recognize other people’s emotions and feelings
• Expecting others to go along with your ideas and plans
• Taking advantage of others
• Expressing disdain for those you feel are inferior
• Being jealous of others
• Believing that others are jealous of you
• Trouble keeping healthy relationships
• Setting unrealistic goals
• Being easily hurt and rejected
• Having a fragile self-esteem
• Appearing as tough-minded or unemotional
When you have narcissistic personality disorder, you may come across as conceited,
boastful or pretentious. You often monopolize conversations. You may belittle or look down on people
you perceive as inferior. You may have a sense of entitlement. And when you don’t receive the special
treatment to which you feel entitled, you may become very impatient or angry.

Valentines Day is coming up, plus now that Hillary is retiring, it is said that she sent this card to Bill:
We are heading to Des Moines shortly, so I will leave you with this one.
The woman in black, with her gun.
New poll just came out. NBC/WSJ poll. And it is not surprising in the results. Basically the majority of Americans would vote congress out of a job, every single member of congress! Replace everyone with new faces and new blood. I am in agreement!
In a country sharply divided on almost every issue, most Americans agree on one thing: they don’t like Congress, and they would vote to replace every single member — even their own — if they had the option.
Fifty-six percent of registered voters say they would vote out every member of Congress if there were a place on the ballot to do so. That’s the highest response in favor of the question since it was first asked in March 2010.
And they say so across the ideological spectrum – with 55 percent of liberals, 55 percent of moderates, and 58 percent of conservatives all feeling the same way.
“We found the one area in which all people in the country agree,” said Republican pollster Bill McInturff, who conducted the survey with Democratic pollster Peter D. Hart.
Combine that with Congress continuing to be at near-record lows in approval at 13 percent and all members of Congress are at risk, McInturff said.

Hey, this morning we finally did something we have not done ever. We actually opened up a savings account! Wife had wanted for a long time to do so. She did not want to put some money into our credit union account (account I have had for mucho years and predates me meeting and marrying this lovely woman). As she wanted to be able to go at any time and get money out, as in real cash and not a check in the mail from the credit union.

Like President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton says she hasn’t been watching the Republican primary debates. But at least Clinton has an excuse for tuning out — she says she’s quitting government after the election no matter who wins.
“What could we do to persuade you to run for vice president?” a staffer asked at a State Department town hall meeting Thursday, referring to cyclical rumors and the wishful thinking of some supporters. “Oh, my goodness,” Clinton replied.
“I will certainly stay on until the president nominates someone and that transition can occur,” said Clinton, who has insisted repeatedly that she will be a one-term secretary. “But I think, after 20 years …of being on the high wire of American politics, and all of the challenges that come with that, it would probably be a good idea to just find out how tired I am.”
(about time! but better if obama and quite a few others would also leave ASAP)

NEW YORK (AP) — Muslim groups are calling for New York’s police commissioner to step down because of his appearance in a film they say paints their religion and its adherents in a bad light.
About 20 activists held a news conference on the steps of City Hall on Thursday and criticized Ray Kelly for giving an interview to the producers of the movie “The Third Jihad.”
The movie uses dramatic footage to warn against the dangers of radical Islam. Muslim groups say it encourages Americans to be suspicious of all Muslims.
“Terrorism is an evil that must be eliminated, but one cannot fight wrong with wrong,” said Talib Abdur-Rashid, a Muslim cleric.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg said Thursday he stood by Kelly and the commissioner’s spokesman, Paul Browne. Activists had also demanded Browne’s resignation.
However, the mayor said Kelly would have to redouble his outreach efforts to Muslims.
“Anything like this doesn’t help credibility, so Ray’s got to work at establishing, re-establishing or reinforcing the credibility that he does have,” Bloomberg said.
Kelly appears for about 30 seconds of the 72-minute movie. He originally said he was not involved but on Wednesday acknowledged he had given a 90-minute interview to the filmmakers in 2007.
(my take? if the muslim dirtbags want him out, the more reason he should stay!)

But Media Matters made one fatal mistake, they also (most likely by accident) sent the email to Republican Sen. Jim Inhofe.
Via Daily Caller:
The far-left nonprofit Media Matters for America (MMFA) has attempted to court at least one Democrat lawmaker as its “all[y]” in “gain[ing] favorable media coverage” in the ongoing Keystone XL (KXL) pipeline debate. Claiming an alliance with lawmakers appears to be the latest red flag for the organization critics allege has frequently overstepped its tax-exempt privileges.
In an email distributed to the offices of both Democratic Sen. Barbara Boxer and Republican Sen. James Inhofe on Wednesday — and obtained by The Daily Caller — Media Matters employee Emilee Pierce sought to “flag” a liberal study by the organization released Thursday in an effort to manipulate coverage of the Keystone pipeline.
The email, addressed to Boxer staffer Mary Kerr and Inhofe staffer Matt Dempsey, sought to “flag that MMFA will be putting out a major, quantitative report on media coverage of KXL tomorrow [Thursday] morning.” [...]
“We are hoping for a big media splash, but — more importantly — we’re hoping that allies will be able to leverage it to gain favorable coverage,” Pierce continued.

WASHINGTON (AP) – A government watchdog says U.S. taxpayers are still owed $132.9 billion that companies haven’t repaid from the financial bailout, and some of that will never be recovered.
The bailout launched at the height of the financial crisis in September 2008 will continue to exist for years, says a report issued Thursday by Christy Romero, the acting special inspector general for the $700 billion bailout. Some bailout programs, such as the effort to help homeowners avoid foreclosure by reducing mortgage payments, will last as late as 2017, costing the government an additional $51 billion or so.
The gyrating stock market has slowed the Treasury Department’s efforts to sell off its stakes in 458 bailed-out companies, the report says. They include insurer American International Group Inc. (AIG), General Motors Co. (GM) and Ally Financial Inc.
If Treasury plans to sell its stock in the three companies at or above the price where taxpayers would break even on their investment – $28.73 a share for AIG, $53.98 for GM – it may take a long time for the market to rebound to that level, the report says. AIG’s shares closed Wednesday at $25.31, while GM ended at $24.92. Ally isn’t publicly traded.
(well, take them to court! that’s what my creditors would do)

Alaska Airlines announced that it plans to cease its three-decade-long tradition of handing out prayer cards with in-flight meals.
Most of Alaska’s customers are unaware the airline is still in the prayer card business, as meals have been exclusive to first class since 2006.
However, a decision was made last fall to put and end to the midair proselytizing, though no specific reason was given.
“This difficult decision was not made lightly,” company heads Bill Ayer and Brad Tilden said in a statement sent to loyal patrons. “Some of you enjoy the cards and associate them with our service. At the same time, we’ve heard from many of you who believe religion is inappropriate on an airplane.”
A spokeswoman for the airline denied any connection to a recently announced frequent-flier partnership with the Middle Eastern airline Emirates.
One person who is happy to see the cards go is Seattle businessman Gordon Bowker, who told The Seattle Times he was not so much bothered by the religiosity as by what the cards represented.
“My reasoning was, if they put that card on the plate, they must be worried that something bad was going to happen,” Bowker said. “If they’re worried, I’m worried.”
