Geithner: Spending in Obama budget ‘unsustainable’
Usually wife and I on friday mornings go to Des Moines to visit our dear Aunt Louise. Not tomorrow though. I will stay home! Wife and her sister will go, then do some shopping and lunch, then come home just to turn around and go to Osceola to see one of our grand-nieces at some recital. That means, I get to go to the gym by myself in the morning. Must be sure and get up and go, or wife will surely enjoy making fun of me not having gone! But that massage chair beckons me! Actually, wife wrote down on paper a short list of what I should do tomorrow morning. Yes, I have to follow her list or else! Geesh, my own personal trainer!!! First I must spend 10 minutes on the bicycle, then 10 minutes on the treadmill, and 10 minutes on the walker machine (she or I don’t know what that is actually called, it is like one is skiing anyways), then I can spend as much time as I want on the massage chair. Will see tomorrow!
Oh, and now our sister down the way is going to also join the gym! She returned the stationary bicycle today, so now she is ready for the gym. Should be loads of fun with her around for sure….hahahhahaha…will not say that around my wife or else!

Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner told the Senate that President Obama’s budget entails an “unsustainable” course for entitlement spending and interest payments on national debt.
“You are right to emphasize — and I commend you for it — that even if Congress were to enact this budget” Geithner told Sen. Jeff Sessions, R-Ala., “we would still be left with (in the outer decades, as millions of Americans retire) what are still unsustainable commitments in Medicare and Medicaid.”
Geithner did argue that President Obama’s budget “will reduce our deficits,” even though Sessions countered by criticizing the use of “war savings, which are bogus” as a form of deficit reduction.

Illinois is currently ranked the third most corrupt state in the country behind New York and California, according to a new report by the University of Illinois’ Institute of Government and Public Affairs and the University of Illinois at Chicago. The study also ranked Chicago as the most corrupt city in the country.
The report was released shortly after Gov. Pat Quinn announced his proposal for an ethics reform amendment to the Illinois Constitution. Quinn’s proposal would allow Illinoisans to enact ethics reforms without going through the General Assembly.

(LifeNews) — The watchdog group Stop Planned Parenthood (STOPP) has released its analysis of the latest annual report issued by the Planned Parenthood abortion business. The report shows abortion continues to be the dominant priority of the organization:
“Planned Parenthood continues to claim that abortion is three percent of its services in the 2010 report. By comparing the number of condoms, birth control pills, and other low cost items distributed to the number of abortions it commits, Planned Parenthood intentionally misleads the public and those in charge of providing government funding for its grisly business by painting a grossly inaccurate picture of what its business is all about,” the group says.
It adds: “By comparing PP’s abortion income with its clinic income, we get a much more accurate picture of Planned Parenthood’s business model. In 2010, Planned Parenthood’s abortion income was 51.5 percent of its clinic income.” [...]

Interesting bit of history here….
Less than a month before the Watergate break-in, the top FBI job had come open for the first time in 37 years with the death of J. Edgar Hoover. Enraged that he hadn’t gotten the job, Felt saw Watergate as an opportunity to shatter the career of the man who did, Nixon’s friend L. Patrick Gray.
Felt began systematically leaking material from the FBI’s Watergate investigation. He knew Nixon, whose paranoia about leaks was legendary in Washington, would figure out that the source was somewhere in the FBI. Gray would be blamed, lose his job (he hadn’t yet been confirmed by the Senate and was officially only acting director) and Felt would be the logical replacement.
Felt played the Washington media like a mighty Wurlitzer, planting his leaks not just with the Post but Time magazine, the Washington Daily News and anybody else who would take them. As his scheme began to work, with Nixon pressing Gray hard to plug the leaks, Felt stood smugly by as other FBI officials were demoted or threatened with the loss of their jobs.
Contrary to the heroic myth that he always pointed reporters in the right direction, Felt’s leaks were often either carelessly inaccurate or maliciously false. Felt told the Post that “an out-of-channels vigilante squad” at the White House was wiretapping reporters as part of the Pentagon Papers investigation. Actually, the taps were directed at national-security leaks from U.S. arms negotiations with the Soviets, they had ceased long ago, and they were conducted by the FBI itself at the direction of Henry Kissinger. Most outrageous of all, Felt falsely told the Post that the man he was trying to get fired, L. Patrick Gray, was holding onto his job by blackmailing Nixon.
Even more damning to the romantic image of Deep Throat as the guy in the white hat standing up to the Nixon Gang at high noon is what he didn’t leak. For instance, the unsuccessful but quite genuine blackmail the FBI used against Martin Luther King Jr., using illicit tapes of sexual incidents to try to force his resignation. Or the FBI campaign of burglaries (“black-bag jobs,” they were called) against anti-war groups, which were directed by Felt himself. Some truths, it seems, don’t need to be told.

(WaPo) — FBI officials say they are willing to consider a proposal from a coalition of Muslim and interfaith groups to establish a committee of experts to review materials used in FBI anti-terrorism training.
The coalition raised the idea during a Feb 8 meeting with FBI Director Robert Mueller, who met with the groups to discuss pamphlets, videos and other anti-terrorism training materials that critics say are either Islamophobic or factually incorrect.
“We’re open to the idea, but they need to submit a proposal first,” said Christopher Allen, an FBI spokesman who was in the meeting.
Groups at the meeting included the Islamic Society of North America, the Muslim Public Affairs Council, the Sikh American Legal Defense and Education Fund, the Interfaith Alliance, and the Shoulder-to-Shoulder campaign.
The FBI is satisfied with the job that its own experts had done in reviewing and purging “problematic” materials, Allen said, and the agency is also “developing guidelines so it won’t happen again in the future.”

The most powerful oppressors of liberal Muslims in modern times aren’t Arab dictators or armies, according to Essam Abdallah, an Egyptian liberal intellectual. Abdallah, who teaches at Ain Shams University in Cairo, writes that the main threats today emanate from “Islamist lobbies” such as the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the Muslim Public Affairs Council (MPAC) and the National Iranian American Council (NIAC).
Months into the “Arab Spring” revolutions that swept across the Middle East last year, it became apparent “that the Western powers, and the Obama Administration have put their support behind the new authoritarians” of the Middle East, Abdallah writes. Islamists like the Ennadha Party in Tunisia, the Muslim Brotherhood, and some members of Libya’s ruling Transitional National Council “have been systematically supported by Washington at the expense of real liberal and secular forces.”
In Washington, the two main forces of the “Islamist lobby” are “Muslim Brotherhood [Ikhwan] fronts” (which Abdallah defines as CAIR, MPAC and the Islamic Society of North America) and a “pro-Iranian lobby” spearheaded by NIAC.
Since the early 1990s, CAIR and its allies “have attacked Copts, Southern Sudanese, Lebanese, Syrian reformers, Assyrians, Chaldeans, and Muslim dissidents in the United States,” he writes. “The Ikhwan of America demonized any publication, book, article, or interview in the national media or local press raising the issue of secular freedoms in the Middle East.”

Caterpillar Says It Will Not Build New North American Plant in Illinois
You got to love this one, the home state of our president, the state that wants to raise and raise the taxes of businesses and individuals, gets told that a new factory will be build anywhere but there! Yes, it is Illinois, the bankrupt state, run by liberals, who think raising taxes will get more money in and they will be able to pay their bills.
Would this mean that Obama’s hope and change is: “poor and broke” will now be “miserable and bankrupt”? Like he is trying to do to our country?
The Fruits of a Liberal Policy:
A stunning new report by the Illinois Policy Institute revealed how Illinois lost one resident every 10 minutes during the past fifteen years. As Illinois lost residents to migration the state also lost out on a net of $26 billion in taxable income to out-migration from 1995 to 2010.

Caterpillar Inc. announced that it would not be building its new North American plant in Illinois. Finance reported:
Caterpillar Inc. will not be building its new North American plant anywhere in the state of Illinois, officials with the company told local leaders Tuesday, with part of the reason being continued concerns about the business climate in the state.
The company will instead focus on a location closer to its division headquarters in Cary, N.C., Peoria County officials were told in an email sent to them shortly after the close of business and later obtained by the Journal Star. The plant stood to bring with it from Japan roughly 1,000 jobs manufacturing track-type tractors and mini hydraulic excavators.
Peoria County had submitted a regional proposal for the facility at the end of last year, and the Galesburg area also had a proposal on the table for the manufacturer. Peoria’s proposal reportedly included economic incentives as well as a promise of a legislative effort to establish a tax increment financing district to benefit the company.
At its core, Caterpillar’s decision reflects some concerns its officials had previously expressed about the economic condition of the Land of Lincoln.
“Please understand that even if your community had the right logistics for this project, Caterpillar’s previously documented concerns about the business climate and overall fiscal health of the state of Illinois still would have made it unpractical for us to select your community for this project,” the letter reads in part. “Caterpillar intends to continue calling for long-term changes in Illinois and to offer help to the state as it works toward real and fundamental reforms that will position communities like yours to compete for future projects.”
Peoria County Administrator Lori Curtis Luther, County Board Chairman Tom O’Neill and Galesburg Mayor Sal Garza could not be reached for comment Tuesday evening.

Obamacare’s contraceptive mandate problem isn’t going away. If anything, the backlash is building as more people realize just how much of a power grab it really is. Because what Obama is doing here isn’t limited to this one assault on our religious freedom. Oh no. He’s assuming the role of America’s Henry VIII, and dictating to the Church how it will operate. Or else.
If the contraceptive mandate stands what’s to stop him from sending the EEOC into our seminaries to force the ordination of women priests?
If the contraceptive mandate stands what’s to stop him from requiring Catholic priests to perform gay marriage ceremonies? (You’ll note that his Administration has already imposed that requirement on the Methodists of Ocean Grove, NJ.)
If the contraceptive mandate stands what’s to stop him from ordering our private schools to cease teaching that homosexuality is a sin and abortion is murder?
It’s not just Catholics who should fear Barack Hussein Tudor. Orthodox Jews separate men from women in their synogogues. Will his power-mad feminist advisors let that religious requirement continue?
I doubt it. They’re on a roll.
So word is there’s some sort of “accommodation” in the works.
The move, based on state models, will almost certainly not satisfy bishops and other religious leaders since it will preserve the goal of women employees having their birth control fully covered by health insurance.
He won’t roll back the mandate, he’ll just shift the costs.
Uh, so the administration response will be tell insurers for religious organizations to take on the costs themselves without passing it along to the religious organizations that pay for the policies? Religious organizations whose doctrines oppose birth control are not going to buy insurance policies that cover it — nor should the government be forcing them to do so.
Does anyone here believe this “accommodation” will survive for 5 minutes after (God forbid!) Obama is re-elected?

Former Red Sox pitcher Dennis “Oil Can” Boyd admitted on Wednesday that two-thirds of the time he was on the mound, he was under the influence of cocaine.
“Oh yeah, at every ballpark. There wasn’t one ballpark that I probably didn’t stay up all night, until four or five in the morning, and the same thing is still in your system,” Boyd told WBZ NewsRadio 1030?s Jonny Miller in Fort Myers, Fla. “It’s not like you have time to go do it while in the game, which I had done that.
“Some of the best games I’ve ever, ever pitched in the major leagues I stayed up all night; I’d say two-thirds of them,” said Boyd, who spent eight of his 10 major league seasons with the Red Sox. “If I had went to bed, I would have won 150 ballgames in the time span that I played. I feel like my career was cut short for a lot of reasons, but I wasn’t doing anything that hundreds of ball players weren’t doing at the time; because that’s how I learned it.”

Protesters at Friday’s “Occupy CPAC” event, organized by AFL-CIO and the Occupy DC movement, told The Daily Caller that they were paid “sixty bucks a head” to protest outside the Conservative Political Action Conference in Washington, D.C.
One protester told TheDC that all the “Occupy” activists were being paid to protest, and that his union, Sheet Metal Workers Local 100, approached him about the money-making opportunity.
