Have You Seen the Creepy Planned Parenthood Cartoon They Would Like to Forget?
In a week filled with discussions about the funding of Planned Parenthood, it seems appropriate to share a 2005 video from the organization.
This was a cartoon distributed by Planned Parenthood Golden Gate called “Superhero for Choice!”
The 8:55 animated cartoon features a Pro-Choice Superhero named Dionysus. Throughout the feature, she is attacking anyone who supports the pro-life movement. And in most cases, her attacks are violent.
Curiously, all who oppose the abortion rights folks are white people. The first scene has a strangely attired man telling kids about abstinence.

Well, this morning our phone and internet dropped off for about two hours. Yeah, I take our dog out, feed her, and do a few other things. Just as I sit down to enjoy some kindle fire time, wife comes in after being on the computer and tells me that the internet and phone is dead in the water. Pfft! So much for some browsing around with the kindle fire! So watch some tv for the entire time until bam, the phone rings. Wife answered and right then I knew we had our internet back. So came in here and was on just long enough to get and read my email, check my daily comics, and check out facebook to see if anyone posted anything of interest (nah). Then went to lunch. After lunch, feed our dog (we have decided that since canned dog food is all she wants and she wants lots of it, bypassing her snacks and treats, and she is getting a bit on the hefty side (read she is fat now), that we would only give her 1/3 a can three times a day. She is in the kitchen still, with her dish (she can lick that dish super clean) and looking at my wife. Funny.
Got no snow overnight or today. Temp right now is only 32 and due to start dropping this afternoon down to a low tonight of around 17. No snow though is due to come our way. Should say no new snow, still have the snow we got over the weekend out there. And with the temps staying so low, melt will not be much during the days and probably be a week before we get some good sun and into the high 30′s again.
Just got a phone call from the optometrist. Our glasses are in. So tomorrow will drop by in the morning and get fitted out with our new glasses. Then do some shoppping and maybe some chinese for lunch.

A blonde orders a beer
The bartender fills the mug and slides it down the bar.
It hits the blonde woman’s boobs and splashes all over them.
The bartender goes over, retrieves the mug and licks the beer off her boobs.
Each time the blond calls for another beer this happens. So after the third beer, a guy decides to help the bartender out.
The next time the bartender hit her boobs, the man jumps up and starts to lick her breasts and she decks him!
He is lying on the floor moaning, ‘Jeez lady. Why do you let the bartender do it?’

The lucrative market for political intelligence that runs from Washington to Wall Street could be more fully exposed by insider-trading legislation that is moving quickly through Congress.
Lobbyists and operatives are bristling at a provision in the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge (STOCK) Act that would require many traders of political intelligence to register for the first time under the Lobbying Disclosure Act (LDA).
Observers say the intelligence trade is rapidly growing into a multimillion-dollar industry, powered by clients at hedge funds and other financial firms that can turn a tidy profit on the inside dope about the workings of Congress.
“They don’t want to impact the outcome. They want to know how it is going to play,” said a person who works in the industry. “You can trade it on either side.”
The disclosure provisions in the STOCK Act could put a crimp in the industry by revealing for the first time the true extent of the practice — and who’s engaged in it.
“Having a lobbyist tell that information to a hedge fund is actually called tipping. You would go to jail for it,” said Michael Mayhew, the chairman and global director of research for Integrity Research Associates, referring to the bill’s restrictions on insider information.

The Obama administration has been accused of telling Catholic military chaplains what they can and cannot say from their pulpits after the Army ordered Catholic chaplains not to read a letter to parishioners from their archbishop.
The Secretary of the Army feared the letter could be viewed as a call for civil disobedience.
The letter called on Catholics to resist the policy the Obama Administration’s policy that would force institutions affiliated with religious groups to provide coverage for birth control, sterilization and “abortifacients.” The Catholic Church believes the mandate represents an unconstitutional violation of freedom of religion.
Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum told Fox News Sunday the Army violated its chaplains’ constitutional rights by barring them from reading the letter – calling for resistance to the contraceptive coverage mandate.
“The Army and the Obama administration said they couldn’t even issue the letter to complain about the Obama administration’s plan on this policy,” Santorum said, calling it a violation of freedom of religion and freedom of speech.
“This is the problem when government tells you they can give you things,” said Santorum, a Catholic. “They can take it away but even worse they can tell you how they are going to exercise this new right consistent with their values instead of the values guaranteed in the Constitution.”

Kaiju Big Appetite Takeru Kobayashi schooled a bunch of fat Philly wing-eaters today, taking home the Golden Bone at the 20th annual Wing Bowl after gavaging down a record-setting 337 chicken wings in 30 minutes.
The previous record of 255 was set by Jonathan “Super” Squibb, a three-time champ who fell to Kobayashi along with favorite son Bill “El Wingador” Simmon, a five-peater.
“He was great,” said Squibb of his insatiable rival. “If I was going to lose, I was going to lose fantastically.” Squibb’s consolation prize was setting a personal best of 271 wings.
After the sauce settled, Kobayashi, who took home $20,000 for his forthcoming intestinal trouble, told reporters he had room for 100 more.

(Politico) — First Lady Michelle Obama will help celebrate the second anniversary of the Let’s Move program at a Fort Worth, Texas-area Olive Garden next week.
According to the White House, the first lady will hold a roundtable discussion on February 9th at the chain with local parents who have made a commitment to healthier eating in their homes and communities.
While the Olive Garden is better known for its bottomless pasta, the appearance is due to a commitment by the restaurant’s parent company to offer healthier options for children. Darden, the corporation which owns Olive Garden, Red Lobster, Longhorn Steakhouse, signed a legal agreement last year to offer healthier side dishes and better food options for children’s menus.

Without much fanfare, the Department of Transportation (DOT) enacted a rule which requires airlines to ensconce all government taxes and fees in a single total advertised price with the fare. For example, if you purchase a $350 plane ticket with $50 of taxes and fees, the DOT is demanding that the airline advertise the price as $400. Airline passengers pay over a dozen taxes and fees on any given airplane ticket, but the government doesn’t want us to know that. The rule was finalized last April, but only took effect last week.
The timing of this rule is very fortuitous. This week, Congress will finalize negotiations for a long-term FAA funding bill. This bill authorizes the collection of all taxes – including taxes on aviation fuel, domestic and international ticket taxes, and cargo –directed to the Airport and Airway Trust Fund, which provides the bulk of FAA funding. As usual, Democrats want to spend more money on wasteful projects, and are all too hungry to increase aviation taxes. What better way to leverage tax increases than by forcing airlines to hide their cost and to shoulder the blame for the perceived higher price tag at the top!

The Santa Barbara Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying those involved with a recent rash of vandalism in the Mesa area, including a Wells Fargo ATM that has been damaged on several occasions.
The most recent event occurred Wednesday when a property owner at Shoreline Plaza, 1819 Cliff Drive, reported that a Wells Fargo ATM had been spray-painted and the screen smashed.
“Class War” was written in black spray paint and referenced the Occupy Oakland movement, according to Sgt. Riley Hardwood. The wall of the CVS pharmacy at 1815 Cliff Drive was also damaged.
Harwood said a person of interest was caught on a surveillance camera in the area around 2:30 a.m.
Earlier that morning, officers were dispatched to Santa Barbara Bank & Trust at 1960 Cliff Drive after a carpet cleaning driver discovered the front glass doors of the bank had been shattered and the ATM screens damaged. At 4:10 a.m., police officers were dispatched to Starbucks at 1990 Cliff Drive after a food delivery employee arrived and saw that the front glass doors were smashed and cracked, Harwood said.
The ATM involved has been vandalized three times in January, according to police. The screens were shattered and messages sprayed on the exterior CVS wall on Jan. 10, 12 and 24.
