According to all the media headlines about a new White House report, there’s still a big pay gap between men and women in America. The report found that women earn 75 cents for every dollar men make. Sounds pretty conclusive, doesn’t it? Well, it’s not. It’s misleading.
According to highly acclaimed career expert and best-selling author, Marty Nemko, “The data is clear that for the same work men and women are paid roughly the same. The media need to look beyond the claims of feminist organizations.”
On a radio talk show, Nemko clearly and forcefully debunked that ultimate myth – that women make less than men – by explaining why, when you compare apples to apples, it simply isn’t true. Even the White House report: Women in America: Indicators of Social and Economic Well-Being explains why. Simply put, men choose higher-paying jobs.
Here are 8 reasons why the widely accepted and reported concept that women are paid less than men is a myth. The timing couldn’t be better – today’s International Women’s Day 2011. What better time to empower women with the truth instead of treating them like victims. And, in case you’re wondering, Nemko’s source of information is primarily the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics – rock solid.
Why the Gender Pay Gap is a Complete Myth
Mitt Romney still won’t say whether he’d stand up for equal pay, but he did tell us he has “binders full of women.” OFA.BO/LMVWmZ

What’s interesting about this is President Obama’s own history with women in the work place.
When one of President Obama’s debate coaches, Anita Dunn, worked at the White House, this is what she reportedly had to say about her experience there:
“This place would be in court for a hostile workplace. … Because it actually fit all of the classic legal requirements for a genuinely hostile workplace to women.”
In the same piece, former economic adviser Christina Romer is reported as saying, “I felt like a piece of meat.”
“‘I felt like a piece of meat,’ Christina Romer, former head of the Council of Economic Advisers, said of one meeting in which Suskind writes she was ‘boxed out’ by Summers,” reported the Post.
Time magazine called Obama’s White House a “Boys’ Club.”
“Coverage in the Washington Post and a new book by Ron Suskind has focused attention on the frustration of Obama’s female advisers. But the problem has been obvious almost since Obama took office. And while the explanations so far have blamed members of the mostly-departed boys club–Robert Gibbs, Rahm Emanuel–Obama himself is responsible for a work atmosphere that marginalizes and ignores women,” wrote Time.
And Obama’s own staff is mostly made up of males, who, as the Washington Free Beacon reported, get paid more than their female counterparts.

Say goodbye to the “hot pizza burn” — researchers at the University of New Mexico (a city known for chemistry) have created a dissolving oral strip that gives immediate relief and healing to a scalded mouth.
Coffee, tea, pizza, or Hot Pocket, let no temperature stand in your way ever again. These need to come out ASAP.
I am not one of those independent voters who have yet to decide.
I already know that my vote will not go to someone who divides the country economically, racially, sexually, and spiritually.
I will not support someone who applies the “rule of law” only when it is convenient or in his best interest, who protects his radical administration against possible criminal probes, such as Fast and Furious, by inexplicably calling “executive privilege.”
I will not vote for someone who puts our national security and the security of our allies at risk; someone who supports the Muslim Brotherhood over our ally, the true democracy in the middle east, Israel; someone whose foreign policy allows the tragedy in Benghazi, Libya to occur and then attempts to lie about it to the world for weeks.
I will not waste my vote on someone who allows Iran, a terrorist nation, to develop nuclear weapons — while declaring a fictitious “war on women” and incredibly directing the national conversation to free birth control rather than national security, the economy, unemployment, or any such infinitely more worthy topic. As a female, if I didn’t consider the source, I would no doubt be insulted!
Obama supporters voice desire to kill Romney over fears food stamps will be taken away
Despite numerous media outlets attempting to downplay the issue, Twitter exploded last night following the debate with new threats from Obama supporters to assassinate Mitt Romney if he defeats Obama in the presidential race.
As we reported yesterday, in addition to threats by Obama supporters to riot if Romney wins, innumerable Twitter users are also making direct death threats against Romney.
The primary reason given for Obama supporters wanting to see Romney dead is the fear that he will take away food stamps.
If the tables were turned and conservatives were making death threats against Obama in these numbers, it would be a national news story. Indeed, the mere act of hanging empty chairs from trees as a reference to Clint Eastwood’s RNC speech was hyped by the media as a deadly sign that conservatives were out to lynch black people if Obama won.
However, the major networks have remained completely silent on the disturbing trend of Obama supporters threatening to resort to violence if their candidate fails to secure a second term.
Twitchy has compiled a laundry list of assassination threats by Obama supporters made during and after the debate, and more continued to flood in this morning, including the following;

This is what 20-year old McJordan sauce looks like.
A man who used to own McDonald’s restaurants in North Dakota is about $10,000 richer after selling a 20-year-old container of McJordan barbeque sauce to a buyer in Chicago.
The sauce was used on McJordan Burgers, named for basketball icon Michael Jordan. The promotional item was sold in limited markets for a short time in the 1990s, when Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to six NBA championships.
Mort Bank, of Bismarck, saved the gallon jug of sauce after selling his McDonald’s restaurants in Bismarck-Mandan and Minot in 1996.
“It was in my basement and I would look at it occasionally,” he told The Bismarck Tribune. “I thought it would be worth something someday.”
As expected, President Obama poured on the #ladyparts pandering during the second presidential debate last night at Hofstra University. He falsely claimed that Planned Parenthood provides mammograms to “millions” of women — a lie that went unchallenged by female moderator and serial Romney interrupter Candy Crowley. Obama also referred several times to Romney/Ryan’s opposition to taxpayer subsidies for the abortion giant, at one point working it into an answer about the economy from a black male undecided voter.
Hollywood groupies ate it up, of course. Which brings us to my new column on a Tinseltown-disseminated “war on women” goblin that needs to be exposed, debunked, and buried once and for all.
With MoveOne running its Hollywood #ladyparts ad in swing states Colorado, pushback is needed fast and fierce. Here you go. Read, share, and spread the word.
The Hollywood Women for Obama Club wants you to vote with your “lady parts.” I want the women of America to vote with their lady smarts. The latest ad from a trio of Tinsel Town actresses spreads one of the stupidest lies about Mitt Romney this election cycle. Fantasyland needs a fact check.
According to starlets Scarlett Johansson, Eva Longoria and Kerry Washington, the GOP presidential ticket wants to “end” funding for “cancer screenings.” If you and your reproductive organs don’t vote for Obama, the doe-eyed celebrities ominously imply, people will DIE, DIE, DIE!
This scare-mongering falsehood has been repeated endlessly by Planned Parenthood and the Obama campaign itself. An official Obama for America ad released in August accuses Romney’s running mate, Paul Ryan, of backing measures to “allow employers to deny women access to cancer screenings.” It also is being used by demagogic Democrats in key Senate races (in Montana, for example).
This much is true: Romney and Ryan do indeed support ending all federal taxpayer funding of Planned Parenthood’s billion-dollar empire. One-third of the budget of the nation’s largest abortion provider, which masquerades as a comprehensive health care provider, comes from government.
But here’s what the famous femmes don’t tell you: Planned Parenthood does not provide women with mammograms. PP’s “women’s health” mantle is a sham. An undercover investigation of 30 Planned Parenthood clinics in 27 different states, conducted by pro-life group Live Action, confirmed that the abortion provider does not perform breast cancer screenings. “We don’t provide those services whatsoever,” a staffer at Planned Parenthood of Arizona admitted. Planned Parenthood’s Comprehensive Health Center clinic in Overland Park, Kan., acknowledged: “We actually don’t have a, um, mammogram machine, at our clinics.”
But don’t just take Live Action’s word for it. In June 2012, the Obama Health and Human Services Department responded to a request for information about how many Planned Parenthood clinics were certified to operate mammogram facilities. “Our search did not find any documents pertinent to your request,” HHS told the Alliance Defense Fund.
Got that? Fraudulent Hollywood harridans and their hero in the White House have been deliberately deceiving women into thinking that eliminating Planned Parenthood subsidies would mean a catastrophic end to affordable cancer screening services. But the abortion provider’s purported “referral services” to outside mammogram facilities are negligible — especially given the widespread availability of free and low-cost breast and cervical cancer screening services across the country supported by both private and public grants.
Wait, that’s not all. In the real world, it’s the Obama administration, not Republicans, who have actively presided over and promoted a drop in cancer screenings for both men and women over the past four years. You can thank Democratic crusaders for health care rationing in the White House. They want all the glory of championing socialized medicine, but cut and run from the consequences at election time.
Under Obamacare, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) will be empowered to determine which health care services are “medically appropriate.” For nearly three decades, the federal panel of primary care physicians and epidemiologists has issued nonbinding guidelines and A-F ratings of recommended medical procedures. But as Forbes columnist Dr. Paul Hsieh explains:
“ObamaCare links insurance coverage of preventive medical services to their USPSTF rating. … (U)nder ObamaCare, Medicare payment decisions will become increasingly controlled by the new Independent Payment Advisory Board, explicitly created to reduce Medicare spending. … To reduce costs, many private insurers will likely drop coverage for “C” and “D” rated services. Hence under ObamaCare, the USPSTF guidelines will likely become the de facto standards for both government and private health insurance coverage.”
And that means dropping coverage for the very services Scar-Jo and her femme friends are accusing the GOP of threatening.
Note: The USPSTF is the same review panel that advised cutting back on routine ovarian cancer screenings last month, recommended fewer prostate cancer screening tests in May 2012, and proposed mammogram restrictions in 2009.
