This Morning was a Big Bust for Us!
Geesh, get up early, real early, is a pain for me! But I did it this morning. And why? It was not to go to the gym. But rather to Fareway, a grocery store, in Winterset. Only about 18 miles from here. Fareway is closing down their old store in town and moving to new digs on the highway on the north side of the town. So today and tomorrow, the are open from 8am to 9pm. Having a huge sale of 25% off all groceries (not including meat, tobacco, alcolhol). So off we leave just a few minutes before 8am. Get this, 79F at that time! Yes, had the a/c on here all night long, still a/c is on. First time this year to keep a/c on at night.
Get to the Fareway at 815am and guess what? No place to park, even on the streets around the store. There were vehicles actually waiting to turn into the parking lot. And then, boom! There is a long, very long, line to get into the store!
So the wife made a decision (she don’t want to listen to my ideas) to just forget about Fareway! Instead, let’s go to Pamida. Well, they don’t open until 9am. Wife says then, let’s go to the dollar store. Seems our sister told my wife to get her some cheap trash bags and some pepsi. Thus the stop at the dollar store, which was open. Got cheap trash bags and the pepsi and back home we came.
But wife wants to go to the new Fareway when it opens this Wednesday. Sure to be some sales. Will find out because yes, we will be their bright and early!
And that makes this morning a big bust for us!

A month ago, the President had his tech team add a little something to a host of past presidents’ biographies on the official White House website, raising eyebrows across the country. At that time, team Obama thought it would be a great idea to add sections at the end of many presidential bios touting how great Obama is.
In an admission that they overstepped propriety – now that the outrage has died down – the White House web team has gone back into these pages and pulled the Obama horn tooting out of the bio proper and put them in a separate area.
In May, many Americans were aghast at the arrogance displayed by Obama for having the temerity to insert himself into so many bios of our illustrious past presidents. Obama added bits touting his own wonderful policy ideas into the bios of such presidents as Lyndon Johnson, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, Calvin Coolidge, and many others.
Obama was widely criticized for the move, and the imprudence was said to have shored up the perception that Barack Obama is President Me, Me, Me. It all embarrassed the White House, as well it should. Even ABC News’ Jake Tapper looked askance, saying that the additions are not “historical, but rather something else entirely.”

The U.S. soccer team insists … they didn’t mean to snub American troops at a Guatemalan airport Monday — blowing past the soldiers’ big welcoming party for the team — so the players are apologizing.
Team America flew in for a World Cup qualifying match against Guatemala — and troops stationed in the Central American country came to greet them on the tarmac and cheer them on to victory.
But when the team got off the plane … they made a beeline for the bus, not saying a word to the soldiers … not even a “thank you.” The troops were understandably insulted.
The soldiers’ friends and family took to Facebook to express their disgust — writing messages like, “What a disgrace that a team that wears our American colors can’t take 5 minutes to acknowledge the soldiers that fight for what those colors represent.”

Am guessing here that this professor is like so many in academia so far to the left, that obama is not to his liking as obama not far enough left to please him.
(Huff Po) — One of President Barack Obama’s former professors appears to have turned against him, according to a recent YouTube video.
“President Obama must be defeated in the coming election,” Roberto Unger, a longtime professor at Harvard Law School who taught Obama, said in a video posted on May 22. “He has failed to advance the progressive cause in the United States.”. . .
The professor went on to list his complaints:
- “His policy is financial confidence and food stamps.”
- “He has spent trillions of dollars to rescue the moneyed interests and left workers and homeowners to their own devices.”
- “He has delivered the politics of democracy to the rule of money.”
- “He has disguised his surrender with an empty appeal to tax justice.”
- “He has reduced justice to charity.”
- “He has subordinated the broadening of economic and educational opportunity to the important but secondary issue of access to health care in the mistaken belief that he would be spared a fight.”
- “He has evoked a politics of handholding, but no one changes the world without a struggle.”
Unger also criticized the nation’s current economic policies in a recent YouTube video called “Beyond Stimulus.”

(AFP) — France’s Socialists won control of parliament Sunday, handing President Francois Hollande the convincing majority he needs to push through his tax-and-spend agenda to battle the eurozone debt crisis.
The Socialists’ bloc obtained between 308 and 320 seats — an absolute majority in the 577-seat National Assembly — and so will not need to rely on the Greens or the far left, polling institutes CSA, Ipsos and Sofres said.
The far-right National Front was set to return to parliament for the first time since 1998 after winning at least two seats in the south of the country, although party leader Marine Le Pen lost her own bid for a seat.
Hollande, who defeated right-winger Nicolas Sarkozy in a May presidential election, had urged voters to give him the MPs he needs to steer France through the eurozone crisis, rising unemployment and a faltering economy.
“The task before us is immense,” Hollande’s Prime Minister Jean-Marc Ayrault said as results came in from the run-off vote. “Nothing will be easy.”

Is anyone surprised at this? The leftist media has always used the race card when it comes to their supreme leader obama!
CNN host Don Lemon railed against The Daily Caller and its reporter Neil Munro on his show Sunday for interrupting President Obama during his Friday remarks on immigration policy.
The Daily Caller’s Munro raised many eyebrows last week for what some called his “outrageous” and inappropriate behavior. The Daily Caller tweeted that it was “proud” of Munro and editor-in-chief Tucker Carlson suggested that his reporter’s actions were similar to those of former White House correspondent Sam Donaldson during the Reagan years.
“I don’t remember Diane Sawyer scolding her colleague Sam Donaldson for heckling President Reagan,” Carlson said in a statement after Munro interrupted Obama. “And she shouldn’t have. A reporter’s job is to ask questions and get answers.”
In a statement to The Huffington Post’s Michael Calderone, Donaldson rejected any comparison between himself and Munro, stating, “Never once did I interrupt a president in any way while he was making a formal statement, a speech, honoring awardees or in any other way holding the floor…What this man did yesterday is something new, to me wrong and unusual.”
During his “No Talking Points” segment, Lemon dismissed Carlson’s statement and praised Donaldson’s response. “There’s a huge difference between Sam Donaldson and Neil Munro,” Lemon said. “For starters, who the hell is Neil Munro?”
Lemon highlighted a second portion of Donaldson’s statement, in which the former White House correspondent addressed what he thought of some of the president’s harshest critics.
“Let’s face it,” Donaldson wrote. “Many on the political right believe this president ought not to be there – they oppose him not for his polices and political view but for who he is, an African American!”
Lemon called Donaldson’s statement “dignified” and thanked him for pointing out what he called the “elephant in the Rose Garden.”
“Finally,” Lemon said. “Thank you, Sam Donaldson – enough said there.”
