Top EPA official resigns over ‘crucify’ comment

Actually he was pushed under the bus by the Obama regime!

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration’s top environmental official in the oil-rich South and Southwest region has resigned after Republicans targeted him over remarks made two years ago when he used the word “crucify” to describe how he would go after companies violating environmental laws.

In a letter to Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Lisa Jackson sent Sunday, Al Armendariz says he regrets his words and stresses that they do not reflect his work as administrator of the five-state region including Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Louisiana. Armendariz, who holds a doctorate in environmental engineering, apologized for his remarks last week. A senior administration official, speaking on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject, told The Associated Press that he has since received death threats. His resignation was effective Monday, when he informed his senior staff.

“I have come to the conclusion that my continued service will distract you and the agency from its important work,” Armendariz wrote in the letter, which was obtained by The Associated Press.

Republicans in Congress had called for Armendariz’ firing, after Oklahoma Sen. James Inhofe highlighted the May 2010 speech last week as proof of what he refers to as EPA’s assault on energy, particularly the technique of hydraulic fracturing, or fracking.

The EPA, perhaps more than any other agency, has found itself in the GOP’s crosshairs over its regulation of the gases blamed for global warming, steps it has taken to limit air pollution from coal-fired power plants, and its increased regulation of fracking, which is responsible for a gas drilling boom. Republicans, including presidential contender Mitt Romney — who has called for Jackson herself to be fired — have blamed the agency for high gasoline prices and clamping down on American energy.

Microsoft backs away from CISPA support, citing privacy

Microsoft has been counted as a supporter of CISPA since the beginning. Now the company tells CNET that any new law must allow “us to honor the privacy and security promises we make to our customers” and protect “consumer privacy.”

Microsoft is no longer as enthusiastic about a controversial cybersecurity bill that would allow Internet and telecommunications companies to divulge confidential customer information to the National Security Agency.

The U.S. House of Representatives approved CISPA by a 248 to 168 margin yesterday in spite of a presidential veto threat and warnings from some House members that the measure represented “Big Brother writ large.” (See CNET’s CISPA FAQ.)

In response to queries from CNET, Microsoft, which has long been viewed as a supporter of the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act, said this evening that any law must allow “us to honor the privacy and security promises we make to our customers.”

Obama Attacks “Right To Work Laws” While Speaking To The AFL-CIO…

The best union stooge hundreds of millions of dollars can buy.

“I believe the economy is stronger when collective bargaining rights are protected. I believe when folks try and take collective bargaining rights away by passing so-called ‘right to work’ laws that might also be called ‘right to work for less,’ laws, that’s not about economics, that’s about politics.”

Note: According to Team Obama this is not a campaign speech and is therefor taxpayer-funded.

Kathleen Sebelius Takes Planned Parenthood Advice Over Supreme Court Precedent on Contraception Mandate

Despite the ObamaCare contraception mandate requiring religious employers to cover contraception in their employee health insurance plans being a clear trampling of religious freedom, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius isn’t interested in “wading into Constitutional law.” Remember, Sebelius is in charge of overseeing the implementation of ObamaCare and can change the rules as she goes.

ACLJ has more:

Last Thursday, Kathleen Sebelius, Secretary of Health and Human Services, appeared at a full committee hearing of the House Education and Workforce Committee.

Representative Trey Gowdy of South Carolina asked Sebelius to explain her statement earlier this year that requiring religious employers to include abortion-inducing drugs, sterilization, and contraceptive services in their health insurance plans “strikes the appropriate balance between respecting religious freedom and increasing access to important preventive services.”

She was wholly unfamiliar with the Supreme Court’s decisions regarding religious freedom; she relied on no legal memorandum in cobbling the mandate together; and, as Sebelius testified in February, she didn’t even seek the advice of the Department of Justice regarding the legality of the mandate.

Shit Bubba, wealthy liberal people just do not regard any people not as rich as them! Like the pot calling the kettle black.

Beltway Confidential:

Former President Bill Clinton told a group of wealthy donors not to regard people suffering in today’s economy as a reflection of President Obama’s record.

“We are beating the clock,” Clinton said while arguing that economic recovery under Obama has moved faster than it would under a Republican. “Why do I tell you this? Because somebody will say to you, ‘maybe, but I don’t feel better.’ And you say, ‘look, the man’s not Houdini; all he can do is beat the clock,’” he instructed the donors.

Now tomorrow, in some parts of the country, might be interesting. Doubt though this little town in Iowa will see one single dirtbag occupier (heck, doubt if there is even a dumbass occupier supporter here).

(Bloomberg) — Occupy Wall Street demonstrators, whose anti-greed message spread worldwide during an eight-week encampment in Lower Manhattan last year, plan marches across the globe tomorrow calling attention to what they say are abuses of power and wealth.

Organizers say they hope the coordinated events will mark a spring resurgence of the movement after a quiet winter. Calls for a general strike with no work, no school, no banking and no shopping have sprung up on websites in Toronto, Barcelona, London, Kuala Lumpur and Sydney, among hundreds of cities in North America, Europe and Asia.

In New York, Occupy Wall Street will join scores of labor organizations observing May 1, traditionally recognized as International Workers’ Day. They plan marches from Union Square to Lower Manhattan and a “pop-up occupation” of Bryant Park on Sixth Avenue, across the street from Bank of America’s Corp.’s 55-story tower.

“We call upon people to refrain from shopping, walk out of class, take the day off of work and other creative forms of resistance disrupting the status quo,” organizers said in an April 26 e-mail.

Occupy groups across the U.S. have protested economic disparity, decrying high foreclosure and unemployment rates that hurt average Americans while bankers and financial executives received bonuses and taxpayer-funded bailouts. In the past six months, similar groups, using social media and other tools, have sprung up in Europe, Asia and Latin America.

Okay, that federal judge has never read the constitution, must be a liberal, because if he had he would have found out that no where in the constitution does it say the people have to fund this murder, inc.!

A federal judge today ruled against Texas in its attempt to revoke taxpayer funding for the Planned Parenthood abortion business through its statewide family planning and women’s health program.

Planned Parenthood filed a lawsuit against Texas contending that the new law prohibiting it from participating in the Women’s Health Program is unconstitutional discrimination. The lawsuit asked the court for an injunction to stop enforcement of the rules preventing Planned Parenthood from getting taxpayer funding via the program , saying the rules violate their rights by putting an “unconstitutional condition on their participation” in the Women’s Health Program.

The lawsuit also alleges the Texas Health and Human Services Commission, which is enforcing the rule, “overstepped its authority in adopting a rule that conflicts with the purpose of the laws that created the program.”

Found this just funny on a few levels!
