Here is yet another damn waste of our tax dollars! The government, on our behalf, is paying to have the lawns mowed, houses painted, cabinets repaired and so forth of foreclosed homes. Something that banks, home lenders and finance companies will not do!
The U.S. reportedly has spent $557 million to mow the lawns, paint the walls and fix cabinets for foreclosed homes across the country over the last year. That’s small potatoes compared to the $124 billion the housing bailout is said to have cost Americans, but it’s a huge bill nonetheless, and one that has led to a lot of fingerpointing. “If the banks aren’t willing to work with people to keep their homes, let the banks pay the upkeep,” said one commenter, while another called it “just another way our so called government officals are running the average taxpayer into the ground.” The well-manicured ground, that is.
(on another note, if the government is doing this, maybe they can come to our place and repaint it, new carpets, new cabinets and countertops?)
Is this how snakes have sex?
Obama says that class warfare is the only way to preserve the American dream! Not really, he just wants to take more money from those who have it so he can give it to those who do not have money and will vote for him and the democrat party members.
President Barack Obama laid out a case for the Buffett rule Tuesday that what’s at stake isn’t just fairness — it’s the future.
The president made the pitch in a campaign-style speech to students at Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, connecting it to his message of fairness that he says is at the core of America.
“It’s our turn to preserve the American dream for future generations,” Obama said. “Here in America, we have a sense of common purpose. Here in America, we can meet any challenge. Here in America, we can seize any moment. We can make this century another great American century.”
The Senate is set to vote next week on in change in tax laws that would set a 30 percent minimum income tax for Americans earning more than $1 million annually.
Just because I came across this and love it.

Lying. Dissembling. Peddling half-truths. Redefining words. Taking credit for something in which he had no part. Those words/phrases describe what President Barack Hussein Obama has said or done and is now saying or doing.
“Big Oil” has become a favorite Obama target. On March 29, 2012, Obama said, “Congress up until this point has thought it was a good idea to send billions more of your tax dollars to the oil industry.” Obama appealed to Congress to “stand with the American people” and vote to end subsidies to the oil and gas industry. But there is one problem: “Big Oil” receives tax incentives. In no sense can what “Big Oil” receives be called a subsidy — the sending of “billions more of your tax dollars to the oil industry.” Further, the incentives (sometimes referred to as tax breaks) are available to any US company.
On November 10, 2007, candidate Obama said, “I am in this race to tell the corporate lobbyists that their days of setting the agenda in Washington are over. They have not funded my campaign, they will not run my White House, and they will not drown out the voices of the American people when I am president.”
The Obama administration recently hired former lobbyist Steve Ricchetti, a registered federal lobbyist for nearly a decade, to serve as counselor to Vice President Joe Biden.
Although Obama signed an executive order codifying this pledge on his first full day in office, the administration has made use of a loophole in the order that permits waivers for former lobbyists to serve. In some cases, the administration has hired former lobbyists without a waiver.
The Obama administration’s argument for ObamaCare had been that it will initially increase costs and deficits. But it pays for itself, the administration says, in the long run because it reduces costs in coming decades. However, the CBO says that in its second decade, ObamaCare significantly increases health care costs, increasing deficits even more than in the first decade.
Obama’s own first-decade numbers were built on arithmetic trickery. New taxes to support the health care plan began in 2011, but the benefits part of the program doesn’t begin until 2015. That excess revenue is one-time-only, making the first-decade numbers look artificially low, but once you pass 2015, the yearly deficits become larger and eternal.
Regarding oil, Obama has said numerous times, “With only 2% of the world’s oil reserves, we can’t just drill our way to lower gas prices, not when we consume 20% of the world’s oil.” It turns out President Obama’s statement is not entirely accurate.
You think the federal government is bad for taxpayers, you should hear what the IRS is doing to tax preparers. New Internal Revenue Service rules are putting regulatory burdens on tax preparation services. Critics say that the new rules are unconstitutional and only benefit big tax preparers. Hear more as Alexis Garcia interviews Chicago small business woman Sabina Loving about the burdens the federal government is putting on her tax preparation service, and what Loving is doing to fight back.
OMG! We are all going to die! The Mayans may have been right!
On Monday, both NBC’s Nightly News and ABC’s World News hyped a finding by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) that, in the panicked words of NBC environmental correspondent Anne Thompson, ”Extreme weather blew March 2012 into the record books….It saw almost three times the average number of reported tornadoes.”
ABC weather editor Sam Champion noted how some enjoyed the unseasonably warm weather, but then ominously warned of a “potential downside” being “so much darker.” He proclaimed: “Local governments are racing to meet these challenges head on. Los Angeles today hosting a meeting of top scientists and public heath officials to plan for what they’re calling, ‘extreme climate risks.’”
Danger number one, extreme weather. The rising temperatures may create ideal conditions for more severe thunderstorms and tornadoes….Danger number two, economic crisis….It’s feared these extreme temperature fluctuations can endanger a whole year’s crops….Danger number three, a possible public health crisis….a Harvard study revealed that even small increases in summer temperatures, as small as 2 degrees, had a direct link to shorter life expectancy for seniors with chronic medical conditions….Researchers predicted a tiny heat spike could result in 10,000 additional deaths a year.
Hmmm…his own party does not want obamacare.
A key talking point of Democrats and liberal pundits regarding the Supreme Court’s ObamaCare case is that if the justices overturn the law — or even just the individual mandate portion — it will damage the “legitimacy” of the court. President Obama himself said that it would be an “unprecedented” action to overturn a law that was “passed by a strong majority of a democratically elected Congress.” The implication being that the court would face a popular backlash if it voted to overturn.
Several commentators have already pointed out that Obama was wrong on constitutional history. The Supreme Court can and regularly has overturned laws passed by Congress going back to Marbury v. Madison in 1803. Others have noted that the House’s 219-212 vote on the law hardly counts as a “strong majority.”
And polls continue to show it has little popular support either. For example, a poll just conducted for IBD by TechnoMetrica Market Intelligence found that only 22% said they wanted the justices to uphold the entire law, while 37% said strike down the whole thing and 30% said to strike down only the law’s individual mandate to buy health insurance. Another 10% were unsure.
Strikingly, the same poll found that while 39% of Democrats wanted the law upheld, 38% wanted the mandate struck down and another 12% wanted the whole thing thrown out. In other words, 50% want part or all of the law tossed. Even taking into account that some of those may be liberals who dislike ObamaCare because it isn’t more expansive, it’s a striking rejection of the president’s main accomplishment by his own party.
There is something here that is not right! To pray for abortions? These people do not believe in God or the afterlife!
A local Planned Parenthood abortion business in California is copycatting the 40 Days for Life campaign, which recently resulted in saving the lives of more than 700 unborn children from abortion. The abortion business has set up its own 40 Days of Prayer for the local abortion center.
“We trust you to decide about your sexuality, having your children, and planning your family,” says a flier promoting the Humbolt County Clergy for Choice event. “We are religious leaders who value all human life. We accept that religions differ about when life begins. We are here to help.”
“We believe that human life is holy. That’s why we believe in your right to choose to be a parent or not,” the pro-abortion religious leaders continue. “It can be helpful to talk with friends you trust, with licensed counselors, and with whatever religious person you choose. Humboldt County Clergy are available to talk with you about the spiritual aspects of choice. Find out more by calling Six Rivers Planned Parenthood.”
Someone sent this to me and said “I dare you to post this”. Well Fred, here it is!
