This story is about South Africa. But the craziness in this story probably would be looked upon by Obama and other liberals as a normal operating thing. It could happen here very easily with an out-of-control government as we have now under the Obama regime.
A bill currently storming its way through the South African legislature would make it illegal for independent meteorologists to predict severe weatherwithout approval from the state-run South African Weather Service.
Forecasters who run afoul of the law could be jailed for up to five years, even if their prediction proves correct. Repeat offenses could land weathermen and women a ten-year sentence.
While the opposition insists this “draconian” law is merely another attempt by the government to consolidate power, the deputy director general of the environmental affairs department said its intention is merely “to prevent the transmission of unreliable information.”
After it was pointed out that no incorrect weather warning has ever disrupted life in the country, a department spokesman said “we need to pre-empt such incidents.”
Besides affecting storm chasers and other independent weather operations that make a living off their storm prediction services and provide farmers and other weather-dependant businesses with vital information, the law could similarly affect civilians who seek to alert forecasters and radio stations of impeding storms.
“And now we are trying to legislate the weather?” objected one angry commenter. “It is currently raining outside. Oh damn, I have just committed and offence! I better leave the country before they catch me.”

And it what would have throw the left into meltdown mode if done by a Republican, a voter registration drive was held at the church after the service.
Via Weekly Standard:
On the Sunday before the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, senior White House adviser Valerie Jarrett visited Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta to give a political speech, in support of her boss (Barack Obama) and congressional Democrats:
“Teachers, and firefighters, and policemen, whose jobs are now in jeopardy because Congress–well let me be specific–because the Republicans in Congress,” Jarrett told the crowd. According to the CBS affiliate in Atlanta, at this point, “Before she could finish her sentence, people in the congregation were laughing, and applauding.”
Holder Uses MLK Day To Blast Republican-Backed Voter ID Laws As Racist…
Holder isn’t going to be outdone by Valerie Jarrett’s shameless abuse of MLK’s legacy to score political points.
(Politico) — Attorney General Eric Holder used Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy on the anniversary of the civil rights leader’s birthday Monday to emphasize the Obama administration’s dedication to protecting the American people from discriminatory voting practices.
“Despite our nation’s record of progress, and long tradition of extending voting rights – today, a growing number of citizens are worried about the same disparities, divisions, and problems that Dr. King fought throughout his life to address and overcome,” Holder said at an MLK Day event in Columbia, S.C.
Holder’s remarks in the Palmetto State come just weeks after the Justice Department blocked the state’s new voter ID law from taking effect, citing an unfair burden on minority voters.
Citing the “drumbeat of concern” he has encountered from Americans across the country about discrimination in the election systems, the attorney general vowed that the Justice Department was more committed than ever before to enforcing the Voting Rights Act.
Unfortunately America would have to close its commercial airports in order to kill CNN and Newsweek. So until the airline travel hubs liberal incubators stop receiving taxpayer funds via Big Government, we’ll have to live with loaded statement brainwashing.
