First I would like to bring your attention to the right side of my blog. As you can see, it is quite clean. I removed all banners and a majority of the links that were there. I did add at the top of the right a new area called “Support This Blog”. Soon there will be a donation button of some sort there so that you can help me by donating whatever amount you please. Like me, donate.
I did move the advertising to it’s own page. You can see the link above in the navigation bar, “Random Ramblings Blog Supporters”. Do go there and support those who advertise to support my blog. At the bottom of the page is where you can find the information on how you can also advertise on that page and be a supporter.
Amended CISPA Is A Direct Threat To Internet Privacy…
The bill we’ve grown to fear is much, much closer to being a reality in our lives with the passing of the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA), courtesy of the House of Representatives. The controversial bill passed with a vote of 248-168, giving us a clear indication of how much our elected leaders value your Internet privacy.
That is, they don’t.
Does the passage of CISPA, even though it is awaiting Senate approval, give you cause for concern, especially in regards to privacy and the respect of certain, fundamental rights? Are the elected officials in the United States capable of regulating something as vast and as complex as the Internet? Let us know what you think in the comments section.
Aside from the fact that CISPA actually passed, there are other troubling issues surrounding the now-House approved bill. First off, as pointed out by TechDirt, the vote for CISPA’s passage wasn’t supposed to be until today (Friday, April 27). The second issue is the CISPA that just passed through the House has some amendments attached (PDF), and some feel this fact makes the bill a bigger threat to an individual’s online privacy than it was in previous manifestations. The amendments were sponsored by various representatives, but there’s one in particular that caught the eye of many CISPA critics: amendment number six.
Sponsored by Misters Ben Quayle and Mike Thompson, and Miss Anna Eshoo, the sixth amendment has been presented as something that clarifies and limits scope of CISPA, but after reading the text attached to the proposed alteration, CISPA is actually worse than it was before the amendment was attached. A summary of the alteration that is most troubling:

Do you get your credit report from the top three credit reporting companies? By law, you can get a copy each year at no cost to you. Now, there are sites on the net that say you can get your free credit report, but most either want you to spend money on some crap membership, or just send you a deluge of ads and emails.
Well, this site does not try to sell you anything and they make it damn easy to get your credit reports! I used them last night and from start to finish? That means printing out each credit report from each of the big three. Took me about 30 minutes or so.
Anyways, go here to get your free credit reports: Annual Credit Report
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) on Friday went “Animal House” on Democrats by saying on the House floor: “Dumb, dependent and Democrat is no way to go through life.”
Gohmert explained that in a telephone call Thursday night with Tea Party supporters, he was asked how he can justify his opposition to new taxes on oil companies, while cutting money from healthcare programs and other social services. Gohmert said Democrats apparently “slipped in a ringer” into his “telephone town hall,” and said he could not answer the person at the time.
But he delivered his full response on the House floor.
“To the gentleman that we got cut off with last night, because we were out of time, let me just say: son, dumb, dependent and Democrat is no way to go through life,” Gohmert said.

It’s hard to believe this came from such a “respected” news outlet like Salon.
Allow me to sum up Alex Pareene’s vicious hit piece…
Tucker Carlson is a racist, woman-hating, homophobic frat boy who brags about being a woman-hating. racist, homophobic frat boy.
Oh, he also sucks at his job and he was once insulted on TV by Jon Stewart.

Karl Rove’s super PAC group American Crossroads has released a devastating new ad targeting the celebrity of Obama.
“After four years of a celebrity president, is your life any better?” the ad asks…
Go see it HERE
President Obama spoke to the troops today in Georgia and turned the event into a campaign stop. Fox Nation called it a “collectivist rant” which pretty much sums it up.
“…Each of us is only here because somebody looked out for us. Not just our parents, but our neighbors and our communities and our houses of worship and our VFW halls. Because we had a country that was willing to invest in things like community colleges and universities and scientific research and medicine and caring for our veterans. Each of us is only here because somebody somewhere had our backs. Because generations of Americans worked together. “Out of many we are one.” Those are values we gotta return to…”
Watch the video, he received a round of applause that was more like golf clapping.
Pelosi started out talking about oil subsidies, then tried to tie it to women’s health and finally wrapped up her speech discussing college aid and Obama. What insanity.

(CNSNews.com) – Vice President Joe Biden said that when he was first elected to the U.S. Senate back in 1972, his view of U.S. military commanders was epitomized by actor Slim Pickens in the movie “Dr. Strangelove,” riding an atomic bomb like a cowboy and “yelling yippee-ki-yay!”
In a speech focusing on foreign policy, delivered at New York University on Thursday, Biden said he ran for the Senate in 1972 “because I thought the policy we had in Vietnam, I didn’t argue it as immoral, but I thought it just didn’t make sense, the notion of dominoes and so on and so forth.”
“And I came to Washington as a 29-year-old kid,” said Biden. “I got elected. Before I was eligible to serve, I had to literally wait to be sworn in because I wasn’t eligible under the Constitution. You must be 30 years old. And my image of the military commanders at the time was, if you ever saw that old movie, if you ever rented it, where Slim Pickens is on the back of an atom bomb, dropping out of an aircraft, yelling, yippee-ki-yay! And ‘Dr. Strangelove’ was the movie.”
one thing is not like the other
The Governor of California is jogging with his dog along a nature trail.
A coyote jumps out and attacks the Governor’s dog, then bites the Governor.
1. The Governor starts to intervene, but reflects upon the movie “Bambi” and then realizes he should stop because the coyote is only doing what is natural.
2. He calls animal control . Animal Control captures the coyote and bills the State $2,000 testing it for diseases and $5,000 for relocating it.
3. He calls a veterinarian. The vet collects the dead dog and bills the State $2,000 testing it for diseases.
4. The Governor goes to hospital and spends $3,500 getting checked for diseases from the coyote and on getting his bite wound bandaged. All of it taxpayer money.
5. The running trail gets shut down for 6 months while Fish & Game conducts a $800,000 survey to make sure the area is now free of dangerous animals.
6. The Governor spends $5,000,000 in state funds implementing a “coyote awareness program” for residents of the area.
7. The State Legislature spends $20 million to study how to better treat rabies and how to permanently eradicate the disease throughout the world.
8. The Governor’s security agent is fired for not stopping the attack. The State spends $1,500,000 to hire, train and fund the pension of a new agent with additional special training re: the nature of coyotes.
9. PETA protests the coyote’s relocation and files a $50 million suit against the State. And wins.
SOUTH DAKOTA :
The Governor of South Dakota is jogging with his dog along a nature trail. A Coyote jumps out and attacks his dog.
1. The Governor shoots the coyote with his personal pistol and keeps jogging. The Governor has spent $0.50 [of his own money] on a .45 ACP hollow point cartridge.
2. The Buzzards eat the dead coyote.
And that, my friends, is why California is broke and South Dakota is not.
This is freaking pathetic!
(AP) — One of the largest Bible translators in the world is undergoing an independent review after critics claimed language in some of its translations intended for Muslim countries fail to present God as Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
Critics say substituting words like “Messiah” for “Son” and “Lord” instead of “Father” distorts the Christian doctrine of the Trinity in a misguided effort to avoid offending Muslims, who believe Allah has no son and Jesus was a prophet.
Wycliffe Bible Translators responds that concepts relating God to family members don’t make sense in some cultures, so the language needs to reflect that. Wycliffe is involved in more than 1,500 Bible translation programs in 90 countries.
The World Evangelical Alliance is appointing a panel of scholars to review Wycliffe’s translation policies. Wycliffe president Bob Creson says the organization won’t publish any disputed materials until after the panel releases its findings.
Cronyism at it’s best!
(Washington Times) — D.C. lawyer Timothy Broas, who has funneled more money to the political campaigns of President Obama than nearly anyone else, last week was recommended by Mr. Obama as the next U.S. ambassador to the Netherlands.
As a campaign “bundler,” Mr. Broas collected more than a half-million dollars for Mr. Obama’s 2012 campaign, raising money from family members, colleagues and other wealthy associates; four years ago, he assisted Mr. Obama’s successful bid for the presidency by raising between $200,000 and $500,000.
According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Mr. Broas becomes the latest of dozens of Obama “bundlers” who are already serving as ambassadors.
The fundraiser’s selection was first reported by the Center for Public Integrity.
This election cycle, 117 people have raised $500,000 or more each for the president’s reelection efforts — totaling at least $59 million. That’s at least 40 percent of the $145 million Mr. Obama has raised.
One hundred and forty-one people have donated between $200,000 and that amount, or $30 million to $70 million. One hundred and twenty people have donated $100,000 to $200,000, a Washington Times analysis showed.
