Oregon Democratic Governor Kate Brown announced that she is extending the state’s state of emergency declaration until the month of July, ostensibly maintaining a stay-at-home order for the next two months.
Brown is saying that she’ll have the ability to revoke the state of emergency before its planned July 6th expiration date. The original state of emergency order was enacted on March 8th, and would’ve expired on May 7th without an extension.
They wanted the campus experience, but their colleges sent them home to learn online during the coronavirus pandemic. Now, students at more than 25 U.S. universities are filing lawsuits against their schools demanding partial refunds on tuition and campus fees, saying they’re not getting the caliber of education they were promised.
The suits reflect students’ growing frustration with online classes that schools scrambled to create as the coronavirus forced campuses across the nation to close last month. The suits say students should pay lower rates for the portion of the term that was offered online, arguing that the quality of instruction is far below the classroom experience.
New Jersey is extending its public health emergency over the coronavirus pandemic for another 30 days, Gov. Phil Murphy announced Wednesday.
Murphy signed an executive order that will keep the declaration in place through at least June 6.
The New Frontier Hotel and Casino was located in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA but was demolished in 2007 after lying abandoned for 6 months.
Opened in 1942, the Hotel Last Frontier, as it was originally called, was the second resort built on the Las Vegas Strip. It had started life as the Pair-O-Dice nightclub in the 1930s before becoming The Ambassador Night Club and the 91 Club. The original club was demolished for the construction of the hotel. In 1955, it was renamed the New Frontier after work was done to modernize.
