Today in 1836 – Texas Revolution: A day after the Battle of San Jacinto forces under Texas General Sam Houston capture Mexican General Antonio López de Santa Anna. Texans being somewhat more civilized than their enemy, they did NOT leave his bleeding carcass inverted and draining from a tree. Should have, after the tender mercies he showed the Texans at Goliad and the Alamo.
