Going through hell

Today in 1951 – Jay Forrester patents computer core memory. It’s made with tiny little wires going through the center of little magnetic donuts. It was amazing stuff. I had a 512 BYTE board. That’s not 512Megs or even 512 Kbytes. It was 12 x 18 inches. Here’s picture to give you some idea of how far things have come:

That’s an 8 gigabyte Micro SD lying atop eight BYTES of magnetic core memory, a factor of one BILLION to one.
