First Flight – Two Years BEFORE the Wright Brothers
August 14, 1901
Gustave Whitehead makes the first publicized account of a powered-heavier-than-air flight. Reports were published in the New York Herald and the Bridgeport Herald and the event was witnessed by several people, including a reporter for the Bridgeport Herald. Children and youngsters who were present signed affidavits about 30 years later about what they saw. Reports said he started on the wheels from a flat surface, flew 800 meters at a height of 15 meters, and landed softly on the wheels. This was two years before the Wright brothers.
End of the World?

Swift-Tuttle comet approaches Earth. It has a 1 in 10,000 chance of colliding. If this were to occur it would probably end civilization.
Recently a well known Conservative political commentator faced a bit of a “pile on” for criticizing (what he saw as) the highly vulgar and demeaning content of a certain popular song video. The reactions were of course from the Left side of the political aisle, and what they insinuated was that this type of criticism somehow in itself represents a challenge to the expressive freedom of the performers in question. First of all, this is an ironic insinuation coming from the architects of Cancel Culture which overtly and strategically works to shut down any expression or opinion that it disagrees with on moral grounds. But secondly, substantive criticism is not a challenge to anyone’s right to do entirely as they please. Substantive criticism is the lifeblood of a free society. Criticizing is what we should be doing rather than canceling.
Now the naked cultural issue involved in this particular discussion was the relationship between the degradation of women and the liberation of women. It is a very old issue and can perhaps best be seen in the classic internal feminist debate over pornography; a debate between those who say that pornography absolutely degrades and harms women, and those who say it is a legitimate non-pathological, non-self destructive form of female expression. Now on the subject at hand, we have been continually assured by the entertainment industry that the absolute omnipresence of female performers who sexually objectify themselves ( in ever more crude ways) is just an expression of female freedom. But what if it is not at this point? What if it is a reflection of the single shallow mold that the present mainstream music industry requires and demands 90% of its female hopefuls to conform to? (in which case it is the opposite of expressive freedom). What if the number of mainstream female Pop performers that do not depend upon selling sex has been decreasing for decades.
In the 1980’s there was of course Madonna and Sheena Easton (performers that overtly sold sex) but there were a greater number of female MAINSTREAM POP performers who had some other selling point: Cyndi Lauper, Patti Labelle, Bonnie Tyler, Linda Rodstadt, Belinda Carlisle, Kim Carnes, Whitney Houston, Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Anita Baker and a host of others I could name. Personally I do not identify the liberation of women with a continually shrinking model of female diversity; this seems to be to be the opposite. But it is the direction in which contemporary popular culture is drifting.
Freedom is not defined by safety. Freedom is defined by the ability of citizens to live without government interference. Government cannot create a world without risks, nor would we really wish to live in such a fictional place. Only a totalitarian society would even claim absolute safety as a worthy ideal, because it would require total state control over its citizens’ lives. Liberty has meaning only if we still believe in it when terrible things happen and a false government security blanket beckons.
I take you back to the summer of 2009, when the CDC and the World Health Organization were hyping the “deadly H1N1 Swine Flu pandemic.”
They were, of course, also urging people to take the new Swine Flu vaccine. On that subject, here is an excerpt from Robert Kennedy Jr.’s Children’s Health Defense (3/27/20):
“For example, [Dr. Anthony] Fauci once shilled for the fast-tracked H1N1 influenza (‘swine flu’) vaccine on YouTube, reassuring viewers in 2009 that serious adverse events were ‘very, very, very rare.’ Shortly thereafter, the vaccine went on to wreak havoc in multiple countries, increasing miscarriage risks in pregnant women in the U.S., provoking a spike in adolescent narcolepsy in Scandinavia and causing febrile convulsions in one in every 110 vaccinated children in Australia—prompting the latter to suspend its influenza vaccination program in under-fives.”
Thank you. Dr. Fauci. Explain to us why you haven’t been downgraded to pumping gas in Death Valley or sent to prison?
However, that is only half the Swine Flu story. The other half—which involves an astounding hoax—was surely something Fauci was aware of at the time.
Fauci was, in fact, recommending a highly dangerous vaccine for protection against AN EPIDEMIC THAT DIDN’T EXIST AT ALL.
His friends and professional colleagues at the CDC were creating the hoax.
Let me run it down for you.
In the summer of 2009, the CDC was claiming there were thousands of Swine Flu cases in the US. But behind these statistics lay an unnerving secret. A major crime, considering the CDC’s mandate to report the truth to the American people:
Secretly, the CDC had stopped counting cases of Swine Flu.
CBS investigative reporter, Sharyl Attkisson, discovered the CDC secret; and she found out why.
The routine lab testing of tissue samples from the most likely Swine Flu patients was coming back, in the overwhelming percentage of cases, with: NO SIGN OF SWINE FLU OR ANY OTHER KIND OF FLU.
Attkisson wrote an article about this scandal, and it was published on the CBS News website. However, the next, bigger step—putting out the story on CBS television news—was waylaid. No deal. And CBS shut down any future investigation on the subject. Attkisson’s article died on the vine. No other major news outlet in the world picked up her article and ran with it deeper into the rabbit hole.
