What It Was Like to Serve on in the German Army on the Eastern Front

Following service as a lieutenant in the U.S. Army Air Defense Artillery during the early 1970s, Ward Carr decided to remain in Germany, residing in Frankfurt. He has worked as a language trainer, freelance journalist, and translator. In 2001, Carr and a German colleague began writing a book featuring the crew of the famous battleship Bismarck. While searching for survivors and family members of Bismarck sailors, Carr often encountered veterans or family members of veterans who had served in the German armed forces during World War II. Although they may not have been associated with the Bismarck, many of their stories were nonetheless fascinating.

During the course of his research, Carr placed an ad in a national veterans’ magazine. Joachim Benz was one of those who responded. Over a period of several years, the two communicated often by telephone and visited one another. Benz has contributed oral passages, comments, and photographs for publications, and a German-language book of his memoirs was published in 2003.

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A petition to change the name of Broward County is gaining signatures as residents learn more about its namesake.

By Monday afternoon, the Change.org petition to Rename Broward County had more than 500 signatures. The goal is to get 1,000.

This shit is ridiculous. Fort Bragg California is talking about changing the name of their town because apparently General Braxton Bragg was a racist, and now this.
We’re going to look like Russia, changing the names of cities and localities to fit the current regime.

Why a “Minute Man” kit, you ask?

Well, we got riots, we got supply chain issues, we got civil unrest (where there are no riots in many places), we got recons going on (even in my relatively unimportant and mostly peaceful AO, we have BLM/ANTIFA on street corners in 1’s and 2’s asking for money. In places they’ve NEVER been seen before. The coming and going from those places is where the recon is happening.)

So, what’s the prepared person to do when it concerns the defense of hearth and home from ‘flash riots’ or ‘flash mobs’ or ‘flash social justice protests’ in front of your house? Remember, these folks are very, very fond of Molotov cocktails (when they don’t end up burning themselves to death with them – who knows? They could get lucky at your place or business….) They also happen to like the 50 or more to 1 odds with bats and clubs for beatings, and sometimes, they even pull a weapon out, aimed sideways, that might hit something or someone you care about.

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) — Oakland’s mayor said five ropes found hanging from trees in a city park are nooses and racially-charged symbols of terror but a resident said they are merely exercise equipment that he put up there months ago.

Mayor Libby Schaaf said Wedesday that a hate crime investigation was under way after a social media post identified a noose at the city’s popular Lake Merritt. Police said they searched the area on Tuesday and found five ropes attached to trees.
